  • It is an awesome setup, one that is achievable and useful. However, the thing that makes it so good in this demo is the fact that he knows how to use it. that stuff would be terribly difficult to achieve off the bat.

  • FUNNN

  • watch the faders 3:19 wtf, lol

  • Where's the Ass Theremin in this picture, the one with the breath controllers hooked up your anus? The Ass Theremin is fully capable of producing visual blob-based representations of pre-recorded fractals upon which the user/farter magically superimposes plugins. Now the guys who want the girls, beer, and accolades can get right to making magic without those carnfounded bass lessons.

  • anyone else notice his shirt changing?

  • ReVEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee.....

    MAde me lol

  • DAMN, i was eager to see what he used the joystick for lol. Pwnin bitches on bf3?

  • sick!

  • @ale0kiss tell him that

  • dudes got alot of shirts

  • what mixers are those?!?!?!?!

  • Comment removed

  • @xSparky117x Ain't no mixers: those are two Behringers BCR2000 and one Behringer BCF2000, they're MIDI controllers.

  • Tim Exile is awesome. beast Live performance IMO

  • tour a fannie!

  • I WANT ONE SOO MUUUCH

  • it will be a missve tune if he puts all shirts on

  • way to much shit to remember lmao funny thing is i made betta music with less gear

    nice video im a fan

  • @CORNERSTOW so you think the shit you have on your channel is better than this?! lmao! keep dreaming son

  • @Floydian311 not at all fam, im just sayin back in the midi days me an my roland vs880 roland xp50 made some nice music . the more shit i aquire the more complicated it is to make music. im no hater believe me lmao. ps i have maschine 1.6 an i love it

  • Can you repeat please?

  • he is now my new god

  • 2:26

    Sorry, I didn't catch that...

    Scrawawaaawawwwawawa? lol

  • but i che is using m-audio e49 keyboard

  • I want a song with the voice-synth melody he does from 3:35 min to the end!

  • oh my god. this is why i want to be a producer :D

  • 2:38 hes taking keymashing quite literally, hes missing 2 keys on his keyboard ;P

  • does anybody know the name of the hardware that he uses as looper at 30 sec?

  • @dankcro Behringer BCR2000

It's just a controller, it's not actually a looper. The looper is on reaktor in his macbook

  • crazy bastard

  • Pretty sexy setup. Tim Exile should teach a workshop for electronic producers to learn how to play live. I'm so tired of seeing big name dubstep producers live and all then realizing about half way through their set that they have no idea how to DJ so they just play a bunch of tracks in a row with sloppy ass slam cuts in between or no transitions at all. We need more people like Tim pushing the boundaries of electronic live performance.

  • @darkoducko Truth; you gotta love it.

  • @darkoducko amen

  • @darkoducko soon my fellow electronic producer/performer ... im comin to set new trend and blow out brain porportions of the experimental state sigh .. i love effects

  • @darkoducko

I think he already does do workshops, or maybe he did them briefly and then gave up. But if he still does - you would have to go to his flat in London to get a lesson... lol

  • what looper do you use ?

  • This is complete bullshit and totally useless, im sorry NI.

  • wonder what the price tag is

  • If i ever got the cash to buy this gear im so going to!

  • hes probably got something mapped to every key of his keyboard too. color coded keyboards are rad.

  • Hey NI this video worked, im gonna go try Reaktor ;)

  • 3:33 oh look! It's The Mouth!

  • 3:00 is pretty epic! The effect he's using is called "The finger", and as I gathered it is a polyphonic effects synth.

  • whats the effect unit. ireally want that. ive never seen a unit with jumping faders like this one.

  • @LogoMproductions its not effects unit its just a midi controller with motorized faders - bcf 2000

  • @aistisice Oh thanks for the info. Care to tell what more gear he has?

  • @vstman i can see 2x bcr 2000, bcf 2000 and a 49 key midi keyboard - probly m-audio, mpd16, and some sort of audio interface - that must be pretty awesome to run all that without latency...

  • Fair enough...

  • can anyone tell what fx´s are going in on - 3.08 till 3.15

  • it's really nice that native instruments can feature mad people with filthy equipment and buttons missing and cheap coloured stickers on everything. just like my setup.

  • genius

  • He. Is. Crazy. Big time.

  • so wht is is you never hear ppl using stuff like this ???

  • What he's doing is very clever and impressive and must take a hell of a lot of getting together - but is it any good? I mean if he was a tailor I'm not sure I'd buy a suit off him

  • @fishybishbash I think the point is to have a setup that allows you to have the most possibilities, that you could create most anything you wanted to. Achieving that intention depends on artistic merit.

  • @Corporatist Agreed. My feeling is that this chaps talents lie in his grasp of the application of music technology - I don't think the music's anything to write home about.

  • @fishybishbash I think he has some pretty good tunes. some of his songs even remind me of OK computer or Kid A

Family Galaxy is a really interesting song, personally

  • never heard anyone refer to the GUI as the "gooey".

  • Nice vocoder!

  • Very impressive. I love Reaktor...

  • He sounds like a cockney barrow boy at a fruit and veg market "We got yer controllers, loops, yer filters.' Three for a pound!

  • He sounds like a cockney barrow boy at a fruit and veg market "We got yer controllers, loops, yer filters.' Three for a pound!

  • effing brilliant

  • were did you get all of it

  • I love this, I have Reaktor with a MIDI controller with some knobs and faders... but I don't know how to set it up.... gee...

  • I want that voice synth!

  • holy s**T on a stick!

  • Tim Exile.

  • I realize that I still have A LOT to learn. Very inspiring.

  • ....awesome

  • While I like the setup and Im a fan of reactor I'm not too big a fan of his music. Its ok but it doesn't really grab me for some reason.

  • Not bad, bet setting this up took quite a while...

  • that made none & total sense @ theme

  • WTB the finger.!@$!@$%!@% is it for sale??

  • How do you figure he has the panel on full screen like that? The only way I can think he is doing that is if he has his laptop screen zoomed in.

  • he probably has the screen resolution the lowest possible it can go. Moldover goes over this in one of his tutorials.

  • Greatness. Perfect example of man using machine as an extension of himself.

  • lol lov it

  • Tim Exile is the Greek god of DSP, I read about it in school.

  • This setup is AWESOME! 8-)

    Thx for the close up!!!

  • Wow this is awesome! The voice synth must be extremely hard to make in Reaktor...

  • I would bet it's just a port of Lazyfish's vocoder

  • too complicated for my simple brain *sigh

  • bastard

  • i bet he can't even play chopsticks

  • who cares? loads of people can play piano

  • I can play piano with my load.

  • @dethtongue good job

  • Maybe, but he's a classically trained violinist, soooo...

  • I wonder what the total cost of this setup is?

  • probably not out of the ballpark actually... i know for example the behringer controllers with the encoders and motorized faders are only like $200 each. cheap compared to what a lot of people use. he probably spent a lot more on software though...

  • not too much most of the equipment isnt to expensive speratly.

the keyboard is about £90 the bcfs are around 100ish (lst i checked)x3 the macbook around £800 for a new one ummm the soundcard around £400+ i cant price it because i dont know what it is.... the drum pad well you can pick up a padkontrol for around £100

soooo id say just over £2000...which is a pretty modest live audio set up.

  • you forget the price of the software

  • reaktor 5 oh +£100

  • @effekt4 yeah probably takes Komplete to get it like that - $600 US

  • oops there are 2 bcrs and one bcf

  • like...mmm... dunno lets see... 129 for the 3 midis....like 100 on that akai...mmmm joystick and keyboard...100.....mic...table...case...laptop...

    ist not that much.

maybe he has the cracked version of reaktor like richard devine.

    (:

  • @esperasoesperas123 He's endorsed by NI, I highly doubt he have a cracked version.

  • *has

  • I'm in love.

  • love your t-shirts tim

  • The Next Kraftwerk! xD mad respect

  • Comment removed

  • Love Reaktor, Love your work... real pro, keep on working!

  • no groove baby!!

  • What a genious!

  • it's wicked how his tshirt changes everytime he uses a different controller.. i never new midi could do that..

  • nah man, all that is in the reaktor ensemble ;)

  • @sansserifgrafik hahaha i know!! midi can't do that though seriously. lol

  • @err0r Well I luaghed

  • @sansserifgrafik damn u really never knew ... i wonder how many others there are that really dont kown .... the possiblities with midi and software

    o the possibilities ..

  • @sansserifgrafik ahahaha..Extreme transitions.

  • Surprising that Reaktor is still loved by many people.. although the logo is wrong, should be REAKTOR 6 lol anyway we all love to have your voice Synth Tim ;)

  • AMAZING Love it!

  • absolutely love it

  • Lord'a mercy... So good it's both inspiring and depressing.

  • I think the point is that we are supposed to realize our own performance rig. This setup probably only makes sense to tim.

  • Konstigt att jag tyckte din kommentar va den enda vettiga här /Fabbe

  • Exile is a genius

  • not actually right video. not showed which controls are assigned to which particular parameters in the programm. everything is already set up. so you are promoting Tim's skills not the product itself.

  • tim you are a fucking legend!

  • Great !

Yay I already have Reaktor and one rotary buttons controler, now are the ensemble he uses available at NI or do we have to built them by ourselves ?

  • I'm afraid not :(
