  • McCartney knew exactly how to wow the American audiences, adding a classic military march complete with piccolo on a single that was released on Americas Bicentennial in 1976.

  • About 10 minutes ago,I was sitting at my computer when i heard the doorbell ring. I rushed to the door and found no one outside. I then saw a guy dropping someone off at the house next to me. His radio was cranking out this song. I heard the piano begin and slowly fade off as he drove away. Blew my mind. I needed to finish the song:)

  • @MrCancer1965 actually without any one of the Beatles there are no Beatles

    John was the artist

    Paul was the musician

    George was the rhythm

    Ringo was the BEAT

  • My brother Robbie and me are in the backyard running thru the sprinkler-waiting for Mom and Dad to watch us "play catch".....

  • The real Beatle. Without Paul McCartney, there are no Beatles.

  • My Nana used to sing this to my brother and I when were little kids..We used to come visit her from Canada and we used to fight when we got there who would ring the bell and she would anser..I miss her..Wish she was still here to "open the door":(

  • Makes you think of the early 70's. RC Cola, Pizza Hut and El Fenix. New hippies with no cause. Tricky Dick, Rumsfeld and Chiney. 16% home loans, Intel hand held football and Atari. Joe Namith had sexy legs and used Noxima because it creamed your face"like a razor wont". Someone got stoned and crashed Lynards Plane. Everyone smoked and mined thier own business.

  • I was a kid in the late 70s & I remember this being on the radio a lot & it always put a smile on my Mother's face, all songs by Paul, John & of course the Beatles did, great memories, so glad she got me into they're music.

  • I'm 18 and I just found this song ! I was seaching it for so long ='D Feel's good to listen to good music again <3

  • Are those 4 musicians supposed to be the Beatles?

  • the beginning of the end.

  • How about letting Uncle Albert & Admiral Halsey in?

  • One of my dad's favorite songs. Love you Dad~we miss you.

  • @lusterpinkoil My dad showed me this song too... Whenever I listen to it, I just break down... I'm so grateful for having him with me...

  • @lusterpinkoil :) Perfect song

  • What a silly love song!

  • My late dad hated this song but i like it

  • This is one of my favorite songs by the WINGSPAN band.

  • @waespina Well brother,Semper Fi but I was at Schwab three years later in 79' with Fox Co 2/4 but this song brings back my teenage years before the Corps.. Was Henoko called "Hooterville" when you were there? Imiss Schwab, the base Theatre, the E Club,The USO with the awesome Imade the mistake of not getting addresses either. Miss my old buds.Yakisoba, the Sew sew lady and the incredibly hard starched covers. lol I could never figure how they did that.

  • @waespina The honor is mine my friend. I sent you a private message.

    Semper Fi

  • 19 people will never find their way in.

Luckily, this also means they'll never reproduce.

  • this song gives me goose bumps when i remember my life as a teenager. early summer mornings not a care in the world i would grab my g&s skateboard head out the door and loose my self in the beauty of the day. just hang out until the stars came out throu out the day i would hear this song what a great feeling when i look back. summers will never be the same. thanks paul for the memories

  • How many beautiful songs does this man have in his head? All of them just amazing.

  • @KrisGarwood i fully agree. Paul must be the most creative song-witer in the world. There are some bands whose style is easy to recognize and is boring after a time.

  • 19 people think paul mcCartney is dead

  • Nostalgiaaaaaaaa

  • 19 people got locked out

  • I was 13 when this song was released was and still is a fav of mine that was in 1976

  • I let you in, you let me in, so let's hug now

  • you dont know music if you dont get a bonner from this my friend

  • @00Sulpher music is subjective my friend. no this is not the best song ever, but this song for me brings back great memories of my mom and dad when I was a kid. We would all sing it in the car together..I couldn't have been more than 5-6 years old. That feeling, might not be boner worthy but it invokes a feeling of happiness.

  • @jasonungar08 lol u typed boner

  • I have a bonner

  • @dlechler1 who cares, go take care of it already Eeewww :)

  • not the song to listen to while high.

  • @DustinTvail if by "not the song," you mean "completley the song," then yes, i totally agree.

  • Walking down the sidewalk in my small town just waving at the people i pass, smiling, and doing finger guns.

  • Liked the ghost

  • "Someone's knockin' at the door. Somebody's ringing the bell. Do Me a Favor, open the door and let 'em in".

  • this was one of the main songs me Bobby Nordstrom and his mom (driving) listened to on the radio from state to state in the summer of '76 as we did our 'Civil War vacation' from Chicago to Atlanta, GA

  • i just relized that the beatles are still wearing their suits and their perfectly fine even though they should have scuba gear to move easly but it shows the power of the beatles over comes laws of physics :)

  • This is not The Beatles.

It is also not paul mcartney ( smacks hand on forehead ), as the title wrongly states.

It is "Let 'em In", by Paul McCartney and the Wings.

  • Whatever you do don't let uncle ernie in.....

    Great song my childhood!!

  • @GeneHunt1973 Especially if Uncle Ernie is grinning and carrying a jar of Vaseline...

  • @GeneHunt1973

yeah man! I was born in 73 too...magical sounds from our youth..

  • @GeneHunt1973 yea, hew fiddles about

  • @GeneHunt1973 that being said, I wouldn't be too keen on letting cousin Kevin in either! ;)

  • Respond to this video... Feel th emagic...joints out an feel the 70's vibe===Timemachine needs built!!! Music is the closest to one ever

  • Very English sounding song. Kind of has a nice flowy rhythm as well.

  • My parents sang this to me when i was a baby. I'd always bob my head. Haha

  • @EJguitarfreek This is a song I grew up with and MANY years later brings me comfort for many reasons!

  • I remember this song 1976.Jimmy Carter was in Jefferson City

and had not yet announced his candidacy for the US president

and we met him in person. My father knew him.Of course you know

who he is.This song played on our way up there and then back.

  • Yep. It's that way for me too. Billy Joel and Lynard Skynard too. My thing was going to camp grounds that had rec rooms and always had juke boxes. Music makes me nostalgic. We were kids and times were simpler.

  • @cryandsing this reminds me of of my parents, so thats where my nostalgic value plays a part

  • :conansilly:

  • This is very high on my favorite songs by Paul McCartney. This song is really catchy and awesome!

  • this song really brightens my day. so catchy :)

  • LOVE this song!

  • 3:10 "you idiot, just because we're so awesome that we can do what ever we want doesn't mean we can breathe underwater!"

  • Thank you diveinme for producing this video. I love it! Not enough space here to convey it's historical significance to me, but I hope you approve my embedding it in an article in my Blog yesterday. Google

THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST: From 19/11 to 9/11

and it will bring you to it. Thanks, again! Peace Ray Joseph Cormier

  • I remember walking into a Carvel (ice cream) store and then hearing that

    bell intro.

I thought it was some kind of store alert - to let the counter person know if

    someone had entered the store.

But then I hear that voice and I know it's a new song by Paul McCartney.

There was a radio playing in the store!

    What timing!

I swear that is a true story!

    No joke.

  • McCartney has two c's. fyi

  • i heard this song for the first time when living in alaska, of course now im in maine... but anyway, amazing song, props to paul mccartney and wings

  • Love this song... your a legend x

  • These days the word genius is tossed around too lightly, but I must say Sir Paul is an absolute genius. I would drink his music-writing bath water : ) Brilliant !!!! LUVVVVVVVVV this song : )

  • Love this song! But especially love the way they drew Ringo's nose! ! ! =Beatles Ray=

  • Pppppppppppppppppppppp

  • the video is so 1970s, lol

  • @futurequeen101 actually its from 1965 :)

  • @Shabeka21Really? I always thought it was from 1976 when the song was released, because the Beatles were still together in 1965.

  • @futurequeen101 this song was released as a single in 1976--early summer.

  • @futurequeen101 I meant the video not the song the song is Paul McCartney and wings yea thts 70's but the video was not intended for this song its one of the episodes from The Beatles Cartoon which were made in the 60's its for A Hard Day's Night go ahead go look it up A Hard Days Night Beatles Cartoon

  • @Shabeka21 liar

  • 18 people were left outside.

  • mt bom!

  • PAUL YOU'RE THE BEST EVER!!!! <3

  • Great song, just lie down, shut your eyes and relax

  • GRANDE pAUL ERES LO MAXIMO

  • this song is just so damn pleasing

  • Knock Knock....who's there? Paul McCartney...well let em in!!! :)

  • This is a nice song! I like the whistling flutes part. And the instrumental begginning.

  • wonderful song! :)

  • I think paul was running short on ideas...

  • @CYCOfilms As I recall this was a big hit ...one of Pauls first as a solo and he still does it live. It's easy to think a song is "short on ideas" after it is written. 20/20 hindsight isn't worth much. I would be glad to be this "short on ideas".

The magic of writing a song is to make it sound like it was easy to write and play. Then everyone can relate to it...not just musicians and composers But then again...before it was written...there was no "it"...just dead empty air.

  • @Fireye69 I guess that makes sense, though this will never be one of MY favorites.

  • @CYCOfilms That being said....I hear ya...though it did kinda grow on me after awhile. I like how he runs through his memories...saying "let em in". It's a song about looking for inspiration for a song...from your influences...which is pretty clever and seems to have worked. "Phil and Don" are the Everly Bros. of which the Beatles said they were highly influenced by.

  • HEY, MAN...

IMAGINE A GIGANTIC MOTHERFUCKING OCTOPUS FELL IN LOVE WITH YOUR SUBMARINE...

I WOULD HAVE A FUCKING HEART ATTACK, MANE...

  • I DON'T WRITE ON THESE THINGS VERY OFTEN. THE REASON IS, AFTER I READ ALL THE REMARKS- I GET TURNED OFF. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SONG- KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. IT BRINGS BACK FOND MEMORIES FOR ME AS A CHILD- IF IT DOESN'T FOR YOU- WELL TOO BAD. IS IT THE BEST SONG IN THE WORLD? I DON'T KNOW- IS IT? MAYBE? MAYBE NOT- WHO GIVES A CRAP- YOU EITHER LIKE IT OR YOU DON'T. MOM DIDN'T HANG YOUR PICS ON THE FRIG? SEE A DOCTOR- GROW UP AND FUCK OFF. OPPS SORRY DID I OFFEND? FUCK OFF YA WANKER! U SUCK!

  • when i'm stoned the 20 seconds of trumpet in this song is heaven,, floatyyyy,,,,

  • @ironman77725 If you are referring to the solo in the song, it is actually a trombone. :) Stoned, huh?

  • @Gabugabug hahaha you got me!! :) bravo

  • If you don't miss those times you're just....strange. Such simpler and better (especially the music) times compared to today.

  • Such a great song. It almost makes me feel as if I'm drunk on the couch...

  • The Phill and Don bits are referring to The Everley Brothers, and the Phill and Don parts are the only lyrics sung with 2 people at the same time which is a homage to The Everley Brothers who are known for their close harmony singing. Just some random trivia that I read in a magazine (:

  • People who dislike this song obviously dont have a door for someone to knock on!

  • 00:11 - "Mac" on a tombstone - short for something?

  • Looks like the modern version of the Flintstones

  • it's frankenberry!

  • I remember being at summer camp and this song was one of the songs of that summer. Every time I hear this and ANY Wings for that matter, I think back to those camp days, summers, swimming, hiking, archery and all those things you did at a summer camp. I listen to this and I can smell the grass, the smoke from the hot dog fires and feel that “lounge around” summer heat. The nostalgia almost makes me cry with joy it’s so real. The power of music indeed! :)

  • @Johnnywhamo your so right

  • @Johnnywhamo Awesome that you should comment on this as i always relate this song to my summers on Wasaga Beach during the 70's this one and 10cc's Not in love

  • @LEEKYLE99 that's one of songs for me as well Leek, you have great taste in music lol! Wasaga Beach, I spent a lot of teenage long weekends there as well as Sauble beach, good times!!!!

  • @Johnnywhamo It does the same thing to me with the summer of 75 bike ride 120 miles from our home to camp for 2 weeks at 14 years old(lake barriessa). Meeting girls our age. Boating with a friend we seen there. Great nostalgia like you said. Peace

  • @Johnnywhamo

great memory, that is life we remember!

  • @Johnnywhamo you expressed the very same memories I have of first hearing this song, and the joy attached!

  • @Johnnywhamo

I was thinkin of this song when i asked out my girlfriend at a camp in Washington so ditto kinda

  • @Johnnywhamo That's a very beautiful recollection. Yes, music has that incredible power to transport one back to a very special time in life. This song takes me back to the summer of 1976 and being a teenager again.

  • is that the beatles omg kool

  • @aliciabeatlesfan42 if u r refering to the cartoon<yes< but the group in the song isnt
