@1973dodgestepside Wow! Thanks. I enjoyed working on it. Had to do a lot of recon to get some inner details right, but the outside was work too. Glad someone noticed! Appreciated very much!
While I do have Spindrift from eBay 8 years ago, I had an original model in 1969 when the show was on air. It didn't survive long. I put the main body together. Then I left it in the back window of the car. It was in Vernal, Utah at some dinosaur museum in July. It was just a sagging blob by the time we got back to the car. And somewhere in a photo album, is a picture of the car in the parking lot with an orange dot in the back window. LOL!
@LOTGiscool That's so funny. I bet everyone has a Spindrift story. I remember my kit I got at Christmas that first year also. It had a missing place back near the rear engines on the bottom where the plastic didn't fully mold in. It always bothered me. I have no idea where that old kit ended up. Sad. Anyway, glad to have it in hand again. This time, I think it looks better. Glad I spent some time on it. Fun ship. I always liked that show.
@dioricees Yes, I was surely a sad case to find my Spindrift had become a sagging mess. I sure remember The Invaders and the totally ominous 'Quinn Martin Production" narration. I was always watching people in public to see if their little finger stuck out. LOL! I am currently viewing my DVD collection of Land of the Giants. For the time, that show was very well done. And Lost in Space was another biggie. Time Tunnel too. I just loved the psychedelic tunnel and the sparks and smoke.
@dioricees Seeing you hold that 'little guy' reminds me of my PhotoShop hobby. I like doing 'Land of the Giants' photography. My background pic is a picture of my brother's hand, and he's got a friend of mine. LOL!
@dioricees Oh, and then came The Poseidon Adventure. Irwin Allen sure got me with THAT movie. I remember gripping the arm rests as the ship was going over. I want to see it on a big screen again. Some of the props and sound effects I have seen in reruns of the old Batman series too. Very interesting.
Very impressed with this stuff. Certainly some of the best work I have seen on a set of kits you can get from any High St speciality or toy store. Superb detailing.
neat video, really like the models.
