Oh, Disgaea... You make a VERY grindy game with only hardcore-otaku appeal, coat it in quirky visuals and a horse weiner, and then, out of nowhere comes this tearful little tune that melts our hearts.

Disgaea belongs in the company of legend of zelda, phoenix wright and final fantasy X as one of the soundtracs that give me goosebumps :)

It's not the translation, it's localizing the song. When localizing, they obviously try to get the words to fit in the rhythm but try to deliver the same message. (same goes for Naruto Natsuhiboshi in english. i prefer the original japanese Naruto, but they did a pretty good job at localizing that song.)
