  • this guys ms paint skills are off the charts

  • What's with rough handling and tight leashes?

  • Awesome! Really cute and funny.

  • ...

  • those dogs are living the dream :)

  • This is the cutest thing EVER. I <3 Science + Golden Retrievers!

  • I've seen this movie a few times.. but I was very young and I don't understand it. Now we're having this subject with science, but this way to teach is much nicer! LOVE IT :D

  • they need something like this for ochem

  • I loved the music in this video! What was it?

  • I wish my lecturers at university had used dogs to explain stuff, I might have actually listened!

  • This is really cool, there so cute

  • awww i want to give them kisses

  • Love it - my faveourite dogs!

  • A golden retriever is more than an 'atom' :L

  • they teach better than my own teacher smh

  • haha the best part was at 1:05 when the dog looked over at the other golden and looked really nervous

  • I can't wait to show this to my 5th graders after winter vacation!

  • I learned while watching cute doggies

  • This is so cute. I have a GR and they're the best.

  • That is a cute lesson!

  • :30 the one second row from the bottom and second dog to the left looks like my Izzy!

  • and we would like to thank all the border collies for the cue cards....

  • bottom quark xD

  • "But what's inside an atom?" *dissects dog*

  • "But what's inside an atom?" *disects dog*

  • I like this vid :P

  • I love Golden retievers ♥ ;D

  • lol at the bottom quark

  • This is so perfect.

  • LOL! i saw this video at school when we were learning about atoms! :D its cute though

  • cute dog but i did not understand a thing???/ :S

  • cute

  • best dog ever

  • I'm just watchin' the doggies, to be honest. :-D

  • love this! :)

  • thanks for taking the effort to make this.

  • Use very small dogs/puppies for the electrons and it'll be perfect! :-)

  • todos esses catoios sao muto catoios.....

  • Best dogs in world!

  • That God really knew what He's doing to put all that stuff together. He knows the stuff we're still trying to figure out.

  • verry sweet - Много са сладки :]]

  • Hi, this is Edna with The Nutro Company. I wished this was around when I was in school-I would have paid closer attention to the subject! lol

    Thanks for sharing! :-D

  • KE KAGATA

  • Georgous! Goldens are such smart dogs. Great science lesson, better than school could have taught me.

  • así la ciencia es mucho más fácil de entender!! :D

  • 16 golden retirevers = heaven

  • Pitbulls could have done a better job....but i do like when dogs teach science could have used this on many science tests

  • badass

  • Tee hee, "bottom quark".

  • I finally understand quantum physics

  • 1:50, holy shit man, those dogs are like bionic or some shit. how do they run so fast!

  • Loved it. Too bad your ms paint drawing of an atom is completely incorrect.

  • great video

  • why didnt I have you as my chemistry teacher back in high school?

  • Makes me happy after seeing this^^

    私は喜んでこの見ている^^

    看了过后心情好多^^

  • @MVboy93 huh?

  • at 0:42 button row. 3rd dog to the right looks just like my golden retriever. :D

they is so cute even if they are old.

  • vendo cachorros golden retriver informes en mi espacio muy lindos en mexicoooo

  • makes me happy

  • AWESOME!

  • How nice :)

  • Neat video!!

  • it would be better if the world was made up of golden retriever puppies instead of atoms

  • No mamen.. No kieren formar atomos con vergas? Jaja

  • :) My golden's name is Proton:P

  • If the school teached like this i might have paid more attention to science class >_>

    WONDERFUL! just WONDERFUL!

Bless those dogs, the owners and trainers!

Bet the kids in class (if any) were more than amazed and paying attention :)

  • nice! almost viral :)

  • Very interesting article and vid the result was fantastic

  • Good video and good way to keep younglings' attention.

  • Now I unerstand

  • Wait!...ohhhh, now I can understand!..weird quantum effects!...hahaha nice video, your job is brilliant! ;D

  • Lovely! I saw the New Scientist article too - you've done well with nearly 150k views. I wondered about doing the same thing with cats or horses but bottled out! Instead I got my cat to teach the world about hydrogenated vegetable oils by doing a taste test on Elmlea - have a look at my videos and see what you think.

  • Thank you for your warm and fuzzy inspiration for a science poem ATOM ANATOMY: All the stuff around us is / made up of tiny atoms. / In solid things like laptops / theyre arranged in tidy patterns. / Atoms all have bits inside. / Some neutrons and some protons / bunched-up in a nucleus / surrounded by electrons. / Electrons circle round in "shells". / Theyre fast and very busy. / Because of quantums weird effects / they look like clouds gone fuzzy! Best wishes, Celia Berrells Science Rhymes.

  • i like the music

  • this is the most adorable thing ever!!

  • cute

  • Love it! Much more entertaining than little dots circling around.

  • I read your New Scientist article. I know why your video hasn't gone viral. It takes too long to download -- too high quality. Low quality videos get more views.

  • 0:31 is the cutest thing ever. Look how clueless they all are. and my dog does the same thing when told to stay. what's actually surprising is that even with 16 dogs around them, they still stayed still.

  • This is adorable. :)

  • 2) "Nucleus dogs": the dogs run in to set together in a group. Caption: "Nucleus". A few "electron" dogs join in to run around them. Caption "Electrons". Then, they are blurred to the "electron cloud". Caption: "In reality, they look more like this".

  • 3) Don't introduce MULTIPLE concepts per video. Attention span!

You should have done 2 videos out of this.

    1) "Atom dogs": dogs bearing "atom" nametags are QUICKLY set in a square. Caption: "solid body". Then dogs are gradually allowed to wander in the bottom portion of the screen. Caption: "liquid". Then dogs are set to run and bounce around. Caption: "gas".

  • Rather poor job for viralness, guys.

    1) KEEP MOVING! Don't take THAT much time showing how they sit dogs down, etc. Speed up the video! Attention span is much shorter than you think.

    2) JUST having dogs in the video isn't enough. Have them DO things, and without human intervention, too.

That has much more "aww!" and "wow!" factors in it. (Compare with the famous LED Sheep Pong)

  • Should have used cats - they are a lot better at quantum theory. Schroedinger knew that.

  • Cats are for pussies.

  • But try getting 16 cats to sit...

  • @Alcor3000 yah right, golden retrivers are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay smarter cats would just run everwhere no affense

  • @Alcor3000 cats only do what cats wana do,..thats why normal people hate them.

  • @wilatemodel

    So true

  • @wilatemodel And that's why those lousy, flea-bitten, selfish bastards are USELESS... ¡DOGS RULE!

  • @Alcor3000 u idiot

  • @Alcor3000 He killed cats, i think he just hated them

  • @Alcor3000

That would be a sad movie though, what with some dead cats, some alive cats, but no way for us to know until we look

16 cats, there would be many dead kitties in the video :P ... :(

  • Муть полная

  • Great! Now I know protons have hair. I wonder what those hairs are made of.

  • Interesting article in New Scientist. I think you need a more appealing title to get the hits. I am fascinated by your next project where a fat cat demonstrates Einstein's general theory of relativity. We have already done this and called it "Cat on trampoline Funny". Note the number of hits. How about a "sneezer" in New Scientist for a few more.

  • LMAO cute o.o...

  • that was pretty terrible, but amusing. You couldv'e done lsightly better viral video wise :P

  • grumble... I was expecting to at least see the dogs circling by themselves, not being led by human handlers. This video is BORING. Try something else as a viral experiment.

  • I agree. I carried my New Scientist magazine all the way from the bathroom to the computer for this?

  • The cutest science lesson ever. should be shown in schools :-)

  • I watched this cause I read about it in New Scientist- I have a viral video too-

  • i didnt realise the electrons could orbit in opposing directions.

    thanks dogs.

  • wtf i want my 2 minutes back

  • this taught me the structure of an atom better than the science teacher i had last year. and it is more interesting than on paper

  • Can't say I think much of the actual science unfortunately, but it's interesting research into how videos go viral...

And I love the "Bottom quark" XD

  • This is cute, but like the comments said, it would probably have been more straightforward to just explain it on paper..

  • This is shit.

I't demonstrates little to nothing, but in a more complicated way than a simple doodle on a napkin.

Well done for trying new things, but this is fail

  • 120,000 views from new scientist headline

0 views because it is good/interesting

  • an interesting and simple way to explain the basics of subatomic particles, but u actually overcomplicate it by using dogs, when you can just explain it easier on paper.

  • It would have been better if you had smashed them together at high speeds in a tunnel.

  • A little bit more finesse in the explanations part and this education experiment has a shot at working. I sure as hell wouldn't have thought of it.

  • yep... pretty lame indeed.

16 golden retrievers + the atom = bullshit science.

  • newscientist too

  • Very cute. My aunt is in this video! :D

  • You must be awesome at parties.

  • Cutey fuzzy wuzzy puppy wuppies. When you dumb things down, they just become dumb. This video explains nothing but old ideas that are no longer true. Do scientists believe we're all so stupid we can't handle the truth so we have to be fed fairytales?

  • What is it like to not enjoy life?

  • It sucks. You're never satisfied. You're surrounded in a sea of mediocrity and wonder why your tax dollars are going to general education when most everyone is barely above knuckle dragging cave dweller. Oh to have an intellectual conversation with someone. Why was I put on this simple-minded planet.

  • Actually they were doing a an experiment on viral videos. They wanted to make something watchable to the masses. And yes, the masses need things dumbed down, unfortunately.

  • the idea was to make a viral video

  • I have just read your article. All hail to your challenge.

  • read about this in my newscientist

  • FANTASTICO

  • wow, now ill get an A on my matter test, lolz! but i love this breed, a golden retriever, just a beautiful dog! i wish i could have 1... can i have 1???

  • thos golden retrievers all are so CUTE! I definately SUBSCRIBED THIS CHANNEL!!! What a great way to explain atoms. I love golden retrievers. I have 1 named Fathom. he is a good dog! My cousin has one too...her name is Sassy!

  • this is the best explanation of an atom I have ever had the pleasure to see!!!! Your dogs are beautiful

  • Bottom quark. haha!

  • this video could have benefited greatly by having powerpoint for the slide pages

  • The dogs are beautiful - I liked it...

  • whats d name of the song?

  • It says at the end of the video you putrescent fool

  • Yeah, why not just have a MAN EXPLAIN it? That would be FREE. And really, really BORING.

  • @upload They used dogs so kids would listen to it more carefouly...

  • I knew dogs were smarter than me! =D

  • if we had this in science class i would of an A. lol

  • Neat

  • fuzzy clouds? it means they are in all places they are supposed to be, at the same time. you cannot pinpoint where the electrons are.

  • because they travel at half the speed of light right?

  • No. It is a consequence of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. If you'd like to know more also read up on the Schrodinger equation.

  • 4 protons 6 electrons? What kind of unstable ion of golden retrievers are they creating?

  • @BMason3604 @BMason3604 i dont know! that number of electrons is ludicrous!

the Beryllium isotope with a mass number of 8 (the one used in this example) is really unstable as it is! (half life = 6.7(17)×10-17 s) I dont know what it would be like if it were forced into a state where it held a charge of 2-! is that even possible!!!??? 10Be 1s2 2s2 2p2!!!?

I have one message for the creators of this video. TREAD WITH CAUTION this is dangerous territory my friends. dangerous, territory.

  • Can you show us a covalent lattice using puppies please :D

  • That is adorable!

  • the only good part of the video is the GOLDEN retrievers the rest suks :(

  • can u explain an ionic bond with cats please

  • chmical dogs

  • As a chemist, I just learned that golden retriever can run at the speed of light.

  • Why are they using dogs, couldn't they get people or inanimate objects? I'm not trying to imply anything but were dogs the best choice?

  • the channel is called pets teach science..i dont know why either.. pretty lame attempt to make it cool

  • adorable and creative :)

  • highly abstract..................... just leave the puppies alooooooone

  • This is so confusing.. it makes my understanding worse.

  • OMFG im hungry now

  • 1:03 LOL WHY IS IT SO FUNNY

  • why the dog look like jailbird.............

  • LOL ATOMS ARE NOT MADE OF DOGS

  • This makes me want to shoot myself.

  • :46 I thought the dogs were gonna poo

  • LOL DOGS ARE NOT ATOMS

  • lol

  • 1:30 thats a big ole butt

  • lol wow that was cool im not going to lie and those were some very well taught dogs. This would be a very good video for a jr high class or something. We give this a 4/5.

  • what well-behaved dogs!

    great vid

  • how swt
