The part where he holds her hand when she leaves is my favorite. It was so out of the blue, and it showed how much he loves her. He isn't really the type of person to do that to anyone. Anyone but her.
I love the scene between the father and daughter the most actually. I get all giggly and happy when the father starts crying and laughing at the same time b/c he knows his daughter finally found a man, yet he now has to let her go. SO emotional. Great acting. Great story.
Man, pride and prejudice can really keep you away from the one you truly love but you're too proud to admit... It's difficult to overcome those superior feelings, but now that I've done it, I'm free to tell and show him how much I love him every day <3
I will believe that I had to see this film to learn the same manner that Mr. Darcy, now I thank father for that fact and I must say is one of my favorite movies
Very beautiful work! I long to experience a romance such as this. I am a male, but I cannot deny that Pride and Prejudice is simply captivating. I feel that in today's world there is too much emphasis placed upon lust and immediate gratification. Where is the elegant, breathtaking, powerful romance that was once so admired? I wish to love a woman so passionately that when I reveal my feelings, all the right words just flow from my inner being! I wish to revive the old art of romance!

I just noticed that the dance and clothes that were in the bbc adaptaion are in this one too @.@ kind of if they were trying to imitate it. I love the music from this one but i'm not really sure the picked the right cast. People in those days were much bigger. Everyone in here seems abit on the thin side.

i really disliked Darcy at first, thought he was an arrogant stuck up snob, but then i understood that there actually exists those kind of men who doesn't really say everything which is on their mind,Elizabeth is the talking type, so they complete each other in a way. What made me like Darcy's character is him not being like Mr Bingley who was very shallow, Mr. Darcy was in search for his equal whereas Bingley only fell in love with Janes looks.
@uccu01 her family is poor, they're all girls, her mother wants to marry them with wealthy men, and she's kinda crazy and rude. A rich man buys a property in their town, he falls in love with Jane, but his friend, Mr. Darcy (who's richer), thinks that she's not good enough for him because of her mother, and because she shows no interest for him, but she's just shy. Lizzie judge Mr. Darcy because of that, but they fall in love, because at the end he turns out to be a really good man.
@sophieleon87 her family is not actually poor...they're more upper-middle class and her dad is a gentleman. This movie is inaccurate in that respect...and a lot of others. The 1995 adaptation is truer to the book if anyone cares. xD
Besides that this version is quite pretty, all scenic and things. :)

@rubies211 I agree she is good in period drama because possibly in the Georgian period woman's fashions were at their most elegant and beautiful and her sylph-like, lissome figure is ideal for showing them off. Also she is so pretty it should be against the law! Only time will tell how her career develops, but when you are so good looking it might make certain roles more difficult to play. That certainly works the other way round.

In fact I think the 2006 feature version of P& P was underated, definitely worth a few Oscars. It had an unfair comparison with the BBC mini-series, which is also a benchmark production.

I DID like how Keira was the fitting age, but my Darcy remain Colin Firth, and I have to say that Keira's Lizzy was a bit more pretencious, I think Ehle's portrayal is more according to the book where Lizzy is sarcastic and ironic when she talks to the upper class.
I wish we could merge the movie with the series - THEN it would be PERFECT!

IS it because I am such a fan of the BBC version that I think although Keira Knightly is beautiful and a great actress, she is too skinny to perform a Victorian heroine?
As Keria is naturally skinny, I don't believe it would be out of the ordinary to find a Victorian heroine perhaps a little less curvy than the times found desirable. I was more worried about her performance. Eliza has always been quite a practical, witty, outspoken and even sensible individual. Keria's Eliza hit a couple of those but all in all I just found her a bit silly as Eliza and too smiley.

This is a great piece, my favorite perhaps. If you type Pattele Productions, one of the four from that user has a lovely piece, i am not sure from where, Can Anybody tell me?
I read the book several times, and I admit the first time was a little tough to follow, but after a while I understood it, and I LOVE it now. I do recommend it, but be motivated to read it.
I'm 3/4 into "Sense and Sensibility" and I finding it to be quite boring and ridiculous. Perhaps I'm spilling my thoughts too soon before I could even finish it. I'll pray it will have a sensible ending.
Since, you're recommending "Persusasion", I will place it on my "next to read" list.
If you like romantic novels with sarcastic, witty humor; you will enjoy the book. However, the high-flying language will take some time getting use to which occured in my case. In short, the book is very charming and recommendable.
LOVE the music for this movie! But if you love this movie you will also love North and South (BBC). Its probably my favorite movie with P&P being a close second.

I read the book several times, and I admit the first time was a little tough to follow, but after a while I understood it, and I LOVE it now. I do recommend it, but be motivated to read it.

I'm 3/4 into "Sense and Sensibility" and I finding it to be quite boring and ridiculous. Perhaps I'm spilling my thoughts too soon before I could even finish it. I'll pray it will have a sensible ending.
Since, you're recommending "Persusasion", I will place it on my "next to read" list.

If you like romantic novels with sarcastic, witty humor; you will enjoy the book. However, the high-flying language will take some time getting use to which occured in my case. In short, the book is very charming and recommendable.
