If i walked on the moon and came across a perfectly square box, sitting there on the moons surface, each corner with a perfect 90 degrees, each side as smooth as glass, what would this tell us? It tells us that some kind of intelligence had created it and had placed it there. Now consider something whoose structure and geometric form is infinatley more complex and encompasses the Golden Ratio and is found in living creaturers and the universe- Is this not also iintelligence in design !
I agree that I am no scientist. The original question "how you tie the golden ratio to being a "code" of a designer???" The golden ratio is like a consistent logo, or stamp of the maker to me. So much of nature is at a high state of efficiency and even beauty. For me, this says there is intelligent design. Where and how did it all start? Someone, had to be eternal. Where else could a Big Bang have come from? " Nothing" would seem an illogical answer.
@airbornarts - Scientists have a lot to learn still especially since most of them think they already know everything. I agree with you that this did not all happen by accident and that ALL of nature testifies of a Divine creator.
if you found a digital watch at the bottom of the ocean that works, would you think it just happened by accident or that there was a manufacturer of it. Nature is highly more complex than a digital watch. When is the last time a digital watch could heal itself with a scab, or reproduce itself with another watch?
2nd Law of Thermodynamics says that in a closed system things always deteriorate, not improve. So how is it that in nature, things are in such perfect symmetry and work?
@airbornarts your digital watch arguement is bunk.... just because life may be more complete than a manufactured item doesn't mean anything. I asked how you connected the golden ratio in life forms to be evidense of a designer.
it would seem more reasonable to just assume that the golden ratio happens to be energetically favourable and therefore most organism use it
@airbornarts as for your 2nd law of thermodynamics arguement........ learn science before you attampt to use it!
we have a large star near us that inputs large amounts of energy into our system. all life follows the second law of thermodynamics....thats why you eat food!!!!!!!!!!
due to your ignorance on this question I prob wont respond to you after this but I hope someone else will answer my initial question
@seres420 - Learn science before you attempt to use it? Do you learn the science of aeronautics before you use the benefits of air travel? Do you learn the science behind combustion engines before you get into your car and drive it? Do you learn the science behind computers before you use one? No. You don't. Most of us don't "learn" the science of any of the modern day wonders we use before using them. Think about your comments before you post and make yourself out to be a hypocrite.
Thank you very much for these wonderfully made clip. As a Muslim and having my holy book al-Qur'an mentioning PROPORTIONALITY IN NATURE and for this ti be a clear evidence is just a blessing.
Baring in mind too that well before the great man himself Fibonacci( may his soul rest in peace) other Muslim Scholars have worked on this subject...!
Subhana'ALLAH. This proved that the Creator of the Universe 'ALLAH' is the biggest Mathematician. As the Fibonacci Series is present every where which turns into mathematical golden ration '1.618', every thing in the universe is established on this ratio even we, human beings. The Muslims's Holy Book 'Quran' & their Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) also showed & told us about it 1400 years ago.
I never thought about it, but that's exactly like a tree I used to climb where I used to live. o.o I'd get up the first branch and just start wrapping up the tree. It's a neat world, huh? ^_^
Thanks for posting these videos Dutchman I appreciate it. Also thank you for taking time to respond to the skeptics. It shows your level of interest and appreciation for the subjects at hand. Again Thank You
@Elenkhos its of trivial consequence, if you are to try it yourself you will see that there is defiantly a close approximation to the F/n=Phi equation...
@Elenkhos Buy into this stuff? Are you serious? It's a scientific fact. It's called the Fibonacci ratio. Even animals show signs of the so called "Golden Ratio". This isn't anything new or made up; it has been know for hundreds (thousands) of years.
@Psychonaut2021 Well I know about the golden ratio, I'm not discrediting it, I'm just saying that other examples should be given to, and I have seen them in plants here on youtube.
This video makes no sense to me and I have a degree in math. There is only one leaf at each "level" it makes no sese to keep counting untill we get to the next level because we are dealing with whole numbers not fractions and numbers of leaves are always counted in discrete whole numbers. If it were adifferent type of plant well maybe then it would make sense. but here it's just gibbarish.
the Fibunacci sequence is 1,1,2,3,5,8, 13, 21, 34... Now this is a different concept entirely. please reread what I said. I was complaining about the description used in the illustration of the plant structire and how it related to the plant. If there is only one leaf on each level, how can we count between levels? Fractions! Does the guy in the video use fractions? No. Why? because it makes no sence to do fractional counts of leaves, especially when no leaves exist between "levels"
In truth the kind of math that deals best with the geometry of plants is known as "fractal geometry". Not all plants follow fibbunacci and may follow different rules depending on species. Some flowers have petals in multiples of 5 others in multiples of 3. Some plants have leaves that alternate sides of a stem, others in groups of 2, 3, or 5. It varies. In this particular case we are shown a plant where the leaves spiral upwards with 1 leaf on each "level".
Great video for atheism. This shows how natural laws explain the order we see in the universe. These plants grew from seeds according to natural laws and don't require a God to place the individual spirals in sunflowers for instance.
"Great video for atheism. This shows how natural laws explain the order we see in the universe." Your con conclusion doesnt follow the premise. You missed the pint of the video. A teleological argument uses the existence of natural laws as evidence of design and thus existence of a designer. The existence of "natural laws" does not contradict the existence of God in any way. Thus, the existence of apparent natural order neither directly confirms nor denies the existence of a deity.
ok bob here is your big chance your the new guru so what 'evolves 'first the leaf or the stem [its an easy one] now when you cut the growing end [tip] what do you see? when you open a germinating seed what do you see? so here we have a plant [what type is it?] what did it evolve from? what is it going to evolve INTO or is it now at its perfect evolution? how long it going to tsake to evolve into an animal? if you cant explain [why deney god ,who you seemingly cant explain either.
i think ur missing the point, the plant is a simple living being ...... evolution is an explaination of the complex from the simple. so unless u think a plant is complex in comparison to other living things, all ur points are pointless, n if u do then pray tell what do u regard as simple.
Quiet interesting to note, the Fibonacci numbers are the most efficient sequence for packing plants and leaves to perform their functions. OF COURSE this OBVIOUSLY entails that Gaia our nature loving mother of the universe came up with this great new idea in math class, and here we are sitting on the teachers desk, a prime example of mathematics in nature bound by physical constraints. Such constraint is why many Fibonaccian shapes in nature are imperfect or absent.
You were a science minded person untill you mentioned gaia. You also dont know your math very well. Its about fthe golden ratio. it is derrived from the Fibunacci sequence but you rarely find that sequence in nature. The golden ratio is seen everywhere.
I don't know anything about gaia, I just saw it and wanted thoughts on it, I really have no interest in it so long after the comment Thanks for the math lesson. It is hard to objectively say whether mathematics is an emergent property of the universes laws (which we can, on another level, argue the source of) or a creative and intelligent force, so either argument seems teleological or fallacious to me, we simply don't have the information to make a conclusion.
Pure Mathematics is a human language. It is a language of the mind and of logic. Pure math concerns itself with patterns within itself, and answering questions generated by previous answers. It cares nothing for reality
Applied math attemps to connect pure math with the real world. It is unclear to me wether the numbers that recurr in nature are the result of mans use of applied math coupled with a desire for an orderly universe, or if these numbers transcend measurement and mind.
Very well put. I suppose you have taken the same level of uncertainty to the concept of divinity, I myself am agnostic, I bring that up because this video, though not directly implying, has heavy islamic connotations on the subject of order in nature.

joness105639 (seems ur everywhere and ur a hater too..lool...)..you know what i discovered in the story of abraham with Isaac? Guess?
When Isaac was supposedly sacrifised he was 33...(same year rebecca was born)...when isaac was 40...he married rebecca...meaning Isaac was 40 when he married a 7 year old rebecca...
why don't u ask isaac...he would jump at the chance more ;-)
I am not a hater. Its just that I disagree with the viewpoints presented on HighFlyingDutchman's channel. Anyhow I think your calculations are off. In fact I dont think you can clearly determine rebekah's age with any accuracy. While we know that abraham was 100 when Isaac was born, we don't know how old he was when rebekah was born. In fact the last clear mention of the passage of time in a geneology in genesis was in chapter 21.
@girlpower88888 There are many blames put on prophets. Like one about Dawood (as). Dawood (as) King David, sent one of his general to war front so he may get killed & Dawood (as) then marry his wife.
No those are lies. It is also said about Mohammad (saw) that he married 9 years old Asyisha (ra) That is a lie too.
