  • Obama is just unqualified to be President. Every day that he holds office will be hell for America.

  • the current state of our economy is not sustainable, and i doubt recoverable.

  • Well, America wants socialism so I guess I am ready to adapt. I know my taxes will be going up so I am preparing as of today. I just canceled my Netflix and YMCA memberships, stopped my United Way weekly donations and will be downgrading my cable tv.

My accountant told me that I would be paying an estimated $3000 a year more under Obama so I decided I will cut at least double that in spending.

Americans think Obama can manage my money better so I will stop all spending with what is left.

  • The last president to raise taxes during tough economic times was not Herbert Hoover! That is false! It was Bill Clinton during the recession wrought by the Bush I administration, and despite the tax hike America experienced its longest period of growth in our short history.

  • The only reason clinton had a surpluss dude is because of technology boom computers became big in the 90's nothing he did you need to think!

  • The technology industry has had bigger expanses during the past eight years than during Clinton's presidency. Bush had Yahoo and few others. Bush had Google and hundreds of smaller tech companies add millions to our budget.

  • that....aaannnnddd he DISTROYED the military budget...anyone remember the hundreds of bases closed down cuz' of ol' b.j. clinton?

  • it doesnt matter who did it last because the truth is its been proven you dont raise taxes in a recession. raising taxes on rich also means taxing small business where jobs are CREATED!

  • Historically speaking that is not true. Franklin Delano Roosevelt raised taxes during a depression, and is an economic giant in American History. Bill Clinton did the same and oversaw the longest period of growth in our history, despite being elected during a recession.

Secondly, Barack Obama's tax plan exempts all small businesses from any and every tax hike, and has several proposals in place that will stimulate their businesses and cut their taxes.

  • Umm, FDR only pushed the country into a deeper recession. The famous "New Deal" was a failure both times FDR pushed it through. It was World War II that brought us out, not FDR.

  • it wasnt until FDR died and Truman, after the war, repealed most of FDR's policies that we were able to recover

  • As i recall it was Reagan's tax cuts that created 16 million new jobs during his 8 years. Also Clinton flourished from the computer boom and not having any terrorist attacks on our homeland the scale of 9/11 and having to fight a war because of it. That being said i would still prefer Hillary over Barack if i could only choose between those two. Barack is the most unqualified candidate of our time.

  • George Bush had an even bigger boom in the computer industry than did Bill Clinton, and the war fought because of 9/11 only boosted the military technology sector of the economy.

Ronald Reagan was only able to do what he did because he quadrupled the national debt and was illegally selling weapons to Iran and kept the military industrial complex up by starting an illegal and absurd war in Nicaragua.

Barack Obama has more experience coming into the White House than Abe Lincoln did.

  • again clinton dismanteled the military, that's the ONLY reason he had a surplus.

  • It should be obvious to you that if it was that simple to create a surplus every president would have done it.

For example, George Bush Sr. attempted to create a surplus of his own realizing that Ronald Reagan had borrowed from China what we would never be able to pay back. So he in turn cut military personnel in his one term 25.6% including a 19% decrease in Army personnel alone. That compared to a 16% decrease during Clinton's two terms of military personnel.

  • Hoover was a republican.

    Bush is a republican.

    McCain is a republican.

    Do the math!
