electrons hove flown through and around this, and it has picked up the field? really? that's what you are gonna go with? as a physics student, i just had to facepalm...
@guineapiggyman well yes, moving electrons is the principle of magnetism, that's true. But moving some electrons through and around a piece of material is not gonna make a magnet, there is a lot more to it. The reason i had to speak out against his explanation is the fact that while he pretends to be an expert on magenets, all he knows about them is that they have something to do with moving electrons, and thus actually knows near to nothing.
@DKukiewicz i have had some courses in electromagnetism and nuclear physics, more than enough to spot a self-proclaiming expert that knows squat, maybe enough to explain some stuff if i had couple of hours, a blackboard with some chalk and some classmates to back me up. But i'm not an expert, and now i re-read my previous comment i see that i might have come over like with, for which apologies
@DKukiewicz , but certainly through a youtube comment box i won't be able to explain much. google search could help you with basics, but the actual materialistic properties of magnets and how virtual particles create interaction between field and material is something you need a phd professor for.
@LamaPaj being able to understand when someone is attempting to con you by using common sense can be particularity useful when it comes to science. @AkumaADemoncus Common sense is wortless! What you need is a understanding of how science works. Check the source material the guy provides, look up the doctors that did the tests. Who knows, baking soda COULD have beneficial effects on cancer! Just because my common sense tells me it is false doesnt mean that it IS false. By using a understanding of how the scientific method works and investigating the article I will know whether it is likely to be bullshit or not.

Fuck reflexology! My mother tried it for a year to control her High Blood. Yup her high blood was controlled. When she visited a real doctor, prescribed her a real medicine & by eating right.
@warnation101 Which treatment was more efficacious? The problem with anecdotes such as yours is that you don't know whether or not the alleviation of symptoms was caused by the reflexology or merely correlated with reflexology along with other things your mother was doing. Was your mother on any previous treatment plans before the reflexology, or during? What lifestyle changes did she make? etc...
Another thing, you say her hypertension was controlled with reflexology, so isn't that good enough?

All these alternative medicine morons are on an ego trip. It makes them feel good to say they know more about the human body than those in the medical "establishment" (who have spent decades studying hard and accumulating evidence) after spending an afternoon flicking through a book written by some hippie 40 or 50 years ago.
@Cataclysm31 Wax in the ear is a normal secretion which has the function to keep a proper pH and keeps skin bacteria from getting in the ear, while allowing other normal bacteria to thrive in the external ear canal. All Ororrhinolaryngologists (ENTs) now days are recommending not to clean the ear because it disrupts the natural bacterial balance (read the Q-tip box, do not insert in ear). Ear candeling is to the ear, what vaginal douching is to female genitalia.
Seriously I have back pain, and I tape magnets when the pain comes. They do work and they do eliminate the pain. These guys attack everything that is not conventional like organic food it is ridiculous to follow guys like this.
@BlueReishiMan Anecdotal evidence is not evidence by itself, it can be due to thousands of other factors. There are no peer-reviewed, serious, double-blind tested studies in any medicinal journal that supports that it works beyond placebo. Studies conducted speaks against it's validity. Thus, it's bullshit.
I love it when the magnet doctor says that you can put magnets on, go to bed and then wake up feeling all energetic. Isn't that what sleep does anyway: replenish your energy? You don't need magnets for that.
My mother believed in that Reflexology bullshit to cure here High blood pressure. She just spent money for 3 years with no positive results. Now she is is regularly visiting the doctor, exercising & eating healthy. She is doing well right now.
well I'm not gonna knock chiropractors entirely....one time...I'm not lying about this...my tailbone randomly moved to the right 3 inches and I went to the chiropractor and she moved it back into place. NO idea how that happened. Took her a half an hour to slide it back. Most painful thing that ever happened to me. All this other crap is well...crap.
@Nemesis000000 ...you do realize that chiropractic medicine only helps lower back pain, other then that, it's a bunch of bullshit, they explain later on.
I'm a Christian, but the nuts who have a sick child and say "I'll just leave it in God's hands" and don't seek any medical treatment, are simply insane. There are two kinds of medicine out there: Alternative medicine, and medicine that actually works. I believe in God, and I believe in science. The two are not mutually exclusive - nor are the ideas of trusting God and trusting modern medicine and technology.
@Supermassively You're not doing either of those things. You do not 'trust' god per definition, since you do not depend on him. That is not trust. You do not trust science either, because even though science states quite clearly that your bible is false (e.g. age of the universe, and if you do not believe in the bible, you're not really christian at all) you reject it based on christianity.
We have a word for people like you. It's not christian. It's not scientist. It's opportunist.
the ONLY way you are going to get better from anything without going to a doctor is by eating right.. this is not an easy fix, and it takes a while due to lack of dedication but a good diet and plenty of NATURAL anti viral and disease plants and fruits and vegtables can help
garlic, goldenseal, echinacea, tea tree, blue green algae, etc
if nature made it.. chances are it at the very least helps.. but STILL go see a doctor.
i studied holistic therapy at college, from a fucktard who believed in angels, even studying all this, there's no science involved, no evidence that it works, just a matter of "of course it works".... well.. honestly, a massage feels fuckin awesome! but.. you don't need to be charged a ridiculous amount for that! aromatherapy has no further effect that a pleasant smell.. sometimes, depends on the therapists idea of nice smell. and reflexology might aswell be called astrology of the feet.
@alywilliams1985 Angels? Shit, what about goblins? Doesn't anybody even believe in zombies anymore? ... That's the trouble with zombies: they're unreliable.
@cyanmanta What about the mummy? I don't mean the real ones, in Egypt, but the ones that walk around wrapped in bandages, with their arms extended straight forward.....
I always thought they were impressive. Lots of zombie films have been made recently, but there've only been a couple of films like 'The Mummy' - and that didn't even show a mummy dressed in bandages! The dude was bare-chested.
There is no way that magnet guy is an MD, no way! If he is he must have got the MD at the University of Whackjobs cause no real doctor would talk about an anti stress frequency on an EEG, it's just nonsense, no way he is an MD.
I hope they try and find out if he is a real doctor later on, if he is then he's been abusing magnets for too long.
That chiropractor was performing some really aggressive manipulations. He was putting far too much force into it. Also if you adjust a child, you are never supposed to twist the neck. He really doesn't seem to know what he is doing.
You'll wake up with an abundance of energy? What, it just flows out of the magnet and pools up inside of you? I think you might have the wrong definition of 'energy'...
did anyone else catch what the magnet doctor said? that you sleep on magnets, you wake up full of energy! so going to bed (with magnets) when you are tired, lets you wake up from sleeping all night, feeling like you have more energy than when you went to sleep? ground breaking!
Keeping in mind, of course, that there are many disorders that are all in the head. I think alternative medicine can be viewed as a placebo effect at best, and in some cases, a placebo is all the person ever needed in the first place.
Like who sponsored the "Food Pyramid" study that had the cow's milk and the animal protein as the main source of our nutritional need? {the meet & dairy industry did!}:

That is what surgeon general under Nixon administration; S. Paul Ehrlich MD, thought before he went to China, where they rolled in a patient awake, and using acupuncture, started a surgery. He then stated that as a medical doctor he thought he knew everything but found out to be wrong.
A professional admitting that they do not know everything, these people are NOT qualified to give an opinion!
Yes, not all of A.Med is absolute, BUT, does the placebo group usually do better in Drug trials?&...
.. there has been many research done by the Worker's comp people & others to show us the validity of Chiropractic. AND yes, even in medicine you have extreme/orthodox doctors yet you do not judge the profession as a whole.
& that is not what the courts found out in MD's vs DC's!
Some alternative medicine is crap but not all. I've seen proof of alternative medicine working, wheater it made pain in certain areas go away or curing acne. And there's a lot of science in it! Acuepuncture and acuepressure requires a lot of school like 8yrs so an acuepuncturist might as well be a doctor, in what they do.
And they say marijuana cures cancer, relieve stress, (cause that really lowers your immune system, you know) and make you have an appetite.......must be bullshit and why it's illegal, huh? Hmmmm, I wonder. Maybe all those on medical Marijuana should be on medical magnetic therapy instead. Cause all those people doin' chemo are really suffering. Safe access NOW.
I agree that weed should be legal or at least safely available for sick people, but you gotta realize that a LOT of cannabis health claims are not based on proper research. and is as much bullshit as other herbal remedies and new age crap. Mj does NOT cure cancer! Who ever says that is wrong. It's impossible to find a cure for cancer because cancer is actually hundreds of different diseases, it's not just one, and that's why there will never ever be one single cure for cancer.
To understand the truth, you have to understand whats going on and how deep it goes. The mainstream medical establishment has one prime concern, PROFIT! They want to keep people alive, but in need of their "medicine". Its not hard to understand, you just have to want to understand it enough.
There absolutely are alternatives to what is promoted by the mainstream medical industry, but the large majority of what is generally considered alternative is nonsense. I'll answer questions about this.
I agree. My GP sent me to a chiropractor after I was involved in a car accident. My treatments look nothing like what you see in this video and along with care from my GP, chiropractic therapy, physiotherapy and massage therapy help my injuries.
My chiropractor has been 100% honest about what he is able to help and what he is not able to help
this guy is a magnet therapy doctor, but claims that a magnetic field is made up of electrons..
iv been in an ongoing argument with a person on youtube who doesnt believe western medicine has brought any good to humanity.
i listed things like anti biotics, or even emergency surgery.. through this i think i understand where these people are coming from, they expect a doctor to heal like the scammers CLAIM to be able to heal. instant cure with no side effects, they hear that and expect the same
You must be a High Functioner or Aspie like me; I have seen and am friends with full autistics, some can barely make a sentence with their mouth, never mind a keyboard. Magnets are cool in general btw, get a nice neodymium one, be careful though as it can take your hand off if you place it between a magnetic surface and the NEo, lol
i still find magnets to be a very cool resource..really it is because of how it behaves but healing??? lol wtf...it can't heal infections..bacteria is what causes it..and help blood flow lol..if said it was bs they would just say it "grabs" the iron in your blood lol....
Magnets are pieces of the earth that still have gravity in them.
The strongest magnets have a power of a few kilos, that wont pull your carpal tunnel up for fucks sake.
The only true thing he said about magnets is that they have electro magnetic fields, the only thing that does is disturb electronics and give kids leucimia.
@kaa3164 I never said it actually did anything :O but placebo effect works wonders, hence why medicinal experiments need to give fake medicine to monitor if the placebo effect itself cures it :P
people who say they can cure cancer or other major illnesses with magnets or special lights or any other crap like that should be thrown in jail for fraud and murder because they helped increase the speed of someones death
I had a friend whose mom was into this weird shit. Her mother thought she was hyper and took her to a "doctor" who put a small ball bearing into her leg. Somehow this tiny metal ball was supposed to keep her from getting excited.
Magnets can cause some really weird shit in the brain and some weird responses (including thinking that your house is haunted), but healing? Never seen any proof of that crap.
@detlefius1 Magnets have been proven to be helpful in only one medical use: migraines. Effectiveness was something like 80% better than placebo, about equal to OTC pain killers, but much less than triptans...

if nature made it.. chances are it at the very least helps.. but STILL go see a doctor.

why the hell would i do "magnet therapy" for glaucoma, when i can just smoke a joint????????
flexwheelR 1 year ago 2
i studied holistic therapy at college, from a fucktard who believed in angels, even studying all this, there's no science involved, no evidence that it works, just a matter of "of course it works".... well.. honestly, a massage feels fuckin awesome! but.. you don't need to be charged a ridiculous amount for that! aromatherapy has no further effect that a pleasant smell.. sometimes, depends on the therapists idea of nice smell. and reflexology might aswell be called astrology of the feet.
alywilliams1985 1 year ago 22
@alywilliams1985 Angels? Shit, what about goblins? Doesn't anybody even believe in zombies anymore? ... That's the trouble with zombies: they're unreliable.
cyanmanta 7 months ago 2
@cyanmanta What about the mummy? I don't mean the real ones, in Egypt, but the ones that walk around wrapped in bandages, with their arms extended straight forward.....
I always thought they were impressive. Lots of zombie films have been made recently, but there've only been a couple of films like 'The Mummy' - and that didn't even show a mummy dressed in bandages! The dude was bare-chested.
The mummy is underrepresented.

So reflexology and magnets "take care of the stress"...and the stress is what kills a guy.
So I could save hundreds or even thousands of dollars by just sitting back, smoking a 10 dollar cigar, and cracking open a Budweiser.....good to know.

What does Dr. Reflexologist have his MD or PhD in? if its reflexology, should it still count?
nirvana2465 1 year ago
Keeping in mind, of course, that there are many disorders that are all in the head. I think alternative medicine can be viewed as a placebo effect at best, and in some cases, a placebo is all the person ever needed in the first place.

I agree that weed should be legal or at least safely available for sick people, but you gotta realize that a LOT of cannabis health claims are not based on proper research. and is as much bullshit as other herbal remedies and new age crap. Mj does NOT cure cancer! Who ever says that is wrong. It's impossible to find a cure for cancer because cancer is actually hundreds of different diseases, it's not just one, and that's why there will never ever be one single cure for cancer.
spingelingdingdong 1 year ago
@rich2rock From what I've read, marijuana doesn't cure cancer but has been shown to prevent it in lab rats.

I'll answer questions about this.

iv been in an ongoing argument with a person on youtube who doesnt believe western medicine has brought any good to humanity.
i listed things like anti biotics, or even emergency surgery.. through this i think i understand where these people are coming from, they expect a doctor to heal like the scammers CLAIM to be able to heal. instant cure with no side effects, they hear that and expect the same

i still find magnets to be a very cool resource..really it is because of how it behaves but healing??? lol wtf...it can't heal infections..bacteria is what causes it..and help blood flow lol..if said it was bs they would just say it "grabs" the iron in your blood lol....
