Here me out on this. So, Kur is evil cause he can use his powers to control cryptids, make an army of cryptids and take over the world. But what makes a cryptid a cryptid is the fact they are hidden. If they take over the world, then humans knows they exist, therefore they are animals. The powers only work on cryptids, but if all the cryptids are animals, the powers will stop working.
