QuidCorpus: What Is Military Pipe Smoking Culture Like?

I'm a pipe smoker in the army here in Afghanistan right now. I know a TechSGT in the Air Force and CPT in the Marines. We hang out sometimes and just shoot the breeze chatting it up. Me and the Marine CPT get some weird looks, one because we're both in our early twenties and people usually associate pipe smoking to a younger crowd, and two because it's alway more "1950s" we're told. But I love my Soeren, I find it very relaxing.

When I was in the Coast Guard the crewmen smoked Cigeretts and Cigars the Officers were the Pipe smokers.

I chewed the crap out fo Gars loved to smoke them on the bridge when the weather was rough I could make many an ensighn barf. Cheers Chuck

I am a 1SG in the Army and while deployed I rarely smoked because one it was not safe because the smell would linger when in certain situations. But I will honestly say in the CAV / AIR CAV we had cigar groups every Friday as a whine down of the week. Good topic keep them coming.

Been a decade, but I spent five active years as a young enlisted man in the European theatre puffing on cigars like Winston Churchill. Cigars..universally accepted..Pipes, not rejected...but you'll get a "double take". I still smoke both in my 30's now..but prefer a nice pipe in the evening.

Anyway...at the age of early to mid 20's...pipe smoking is like having a rotund girlfriend or riding a moped. It's great fun but you don't want your friends to find out about it.

Can you recomended some cigars that last 30 - 45 minutes with fairly low nicotine content, because I get sick if I smoke medium boided cigar for 1 hour 15 minute???

@SmokingEssy7887 Cigars are going to have a strong nicotine content. My suggestion is for you to get smaller ring gage cigars on the light/medium body spectrum. Look around on Cigarsinternational (d0t) com and you'll find some to your liking.
