Portland's so out of luck with players in the last 15 years... Killed, injured, killed, injured, permanently injured, near-death injury, injured, injured, and the list goes on. Jeez. And they are always in the play-offs...
if macmillan uses bayless more than blake. they can be a better team. bayless is more athletic, faster and he can defend better. look what blake did this playoffs. it is also macmillan fault because he doesnt use more of this bench.
i agree with the part about not using the bench and dont get me wrong i love bayless i hope and belive that he will be the next gilbet arenas (without the injures).but he isnt ready to start he needs to learn under a veteran...i would love to see andre miller in portland....this way he could help with bayless and make him better.BRANDON ROY IS THE 3RD BEST SG IN THE LEAGUE AND BEFORE ANYBODY COMMENTS THINK ABOUT IT......ROOKIE OF THE YEAR ,2 TIME ALL STAR, ALL NBA SECOND TEAM,AND HE IS ONLY
The clock isn't suppose to start until it hits the players hands. If you check other angles you'll see it leaves his hands with plenty of time. They reviewed the play and it was good.

Do you really think it is possible to catch the ball on a hop step, turn, and shoot in only .8 secs? Its not even possible, the clock started late, that is why it looked like he got it off in time.
No, I don't care anymore really since it was so long ago, but it shouldn't have counted. Plus if you time it on your own with a stopwatch, you get about 1.3 seconds.
PS Rockets will be up 3-1 in the playoffs after Game 4.
Hmm, if you didn't really care, then why did you post? Also there probably is some lag time between when the clock keeper sees it hit the players hands and then turns around, but it is well known that the minimum amount of time specified by NBA rules for a catch and shoot is 0.5 seconds, this was 0.8 seconds. Had Houston been taking the shot they would have been afforded the same amount of time.
Also I wouldn't feel so confident as Houston almost blew a 17 point lead @ home.
I know that, but the clock didn't start until he jumped for the shot, not when he caught the ball. Am I right? Go look at other videos and see if I am wrong or not.
Blowing a 17 lead at home isn't too bad, its the playoffs, there will always be runs like that, as long we can hold them on, Rockets will win Game 4. I mean Portland only beat Houston by 4 points in Game 2, and it took BIG games from Roy and Aldridge to beat Houston. Granted Roy won't score 40 points again, Houston wins 4-2.
There will always be some lag time between the clock keeper and what is happening in the game. If anything you should be angry at the clock keeper, who I do believe is a Rockets' employee. Rarely will the NBA overturn a shot based on when the clock keeper started the clock, only if the shot was too late. If you see the earlier Yao play there was a lag time between when he caught the ball and when the clock started as well.
Lmao cobra34953 you are an idiot most specifically because if the clock was to be stopped when yao ming's shot went in there would have to have been no foul so they would have been tied anyways. Whenever a foul is committed on a shot people, the clock stops at the time of the foul, not after the ball goes through the hoop.
ummm.. you need to learn the game. clock stops once the foul OCCURS. not when the ball hits the rim. sometimes the ball doesn't even make to the rim when a player's fouled.
It was a 4th quarter to end game. The first three quarters were a mixture of good defense and bad shooting. Almost all game Roy and Yao were off while Aldridge carried the Blazers to a double digit lead. Then McGrady took over in the forth, game went to OT, and the last three shot completed it.
While I was watching I figured it was about to show the gap between a championship contender (Rockets) and an up and coming team (Portland) as the lead shrunk. Guess I was wrong.
i hate the blazers too im a rockets fan but they won fair in this game i mean be serious would the game ended like that if t-mac was that far away from him??yess this was one of the greatest games of the whole season to me but come on rockets got a better chance of goin to the nba finals then portland not saying they want make it to the playoffs but i am saying they want make it to the finals
dudes a hater below me... real talk, Roys a fuckin bosss for both thoses shots.. they didnt show it in here but he crosssed artest and busted a faddy in his mouth with 1.9 seconds. He gotta career ahead of him..
PLEASE, the Rockets have handed so many losses to the blazers in these past couple years, they beat them four times last year, the only way the blazers win is with a BS shot like that. Its shouldnt have been that close because because Artest and Yao both had terrible games, AGAIN. The Rockets didnt give up even when they werent playing all that great and they made it close, I mean it cant get any closer that that. The Rockets need to get on their game, i know they can easily destroy this team
i agree u have beat us but the reason yao and artest had a bad game is cause we shut them out....looks like blazers learned how to play better watch out
DUDE..I was SCREAMMING in ectasy when Roy hit that shot with 2 seconds left. Now...imagine the disappointment I felt when Yao hit that shot. NOW IMAGINE THE JOY WITH ROYS SECOND shot.

Why would a Rockets' employee be working the clocks in the Trailblazers' arena?
I know there is always lag time, but all I am asking is why did the clock start when he was already in the air, not when he caught the ball?
ChiefEdiri 2 years ago
My bad, this was in Portland, thus all the excited people :P.
Well the same could be said for the previous play, Yao had the ball and made a half turn before the clock started ticking.
