  • That was decent

  • Oh man, what a waste of a beautiful sword

  • Having used .50 cals in the military, I can tell you they are extremely accurate. An exceptional weapon. The double .50's were one of my favorite weapons.

  • ultimate my ass.

  • this video pains me :'( that sword was fucking amazing! it took 3 50.cal to it b4 breaking that was fucking badass!

  • Stole the replay song from Van Helsing....

  • EPIC FAIL XD

  • I wasn't amazed by the sword, but by the machine gun. Right on target every shot. I was expecting to see rounds all over the places due to huge recoils.

  • didn't you get the idea guys ? the sword is precious ofc and seeing it destroyed like that is pretty sad but still, this sword cut those bullets in two

  • whats the name of that swordsmith???

if I was ever going to buy a sword, I would buy it from him.

  • you cant help but die a lil inside to see so much soul put into something like a katana just to get blow up like that tho. but yea it was obviously going to happen :P

  • if u were robbing a bank, and pulled out a handgun, yeah i would be scared but if u pulled out a katana! i would shit myself

  • what a waste of beautiful Tamahagani ...... i would never ruin a beautiful Katana like that =(

  • @rockfx THAT'S RIGHT MY FRIEND. SO HAPPY TO READ A COMMENT FROM SOMEONE WHO APPRECIATES THE BEAUTY OF THOSE SWORDS. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.

  • @kanesuke6gmail katanas are completly awesome: powerfull and beautiful

  • THATS MESSED UP

  • You know what they say though...Do not bring knives in a gunfight.

I guess its the same with swords xD

  • Well... To be honest, in man-to-man combat, close-combat, a blade has some advantages. It doesn't need a reload, it goes through bullet-proof armor and it's pretty much always deadly in the hands of a practicioner. Destroying a gun with a sword is easier then destroying a sword with a gun. Cutting a wrist/ the fingers disables any marksmen, while a shot in the arm won't necessarily stop a swordsman. It's probably most effective against a small group of opponents, while using guerilla-tactics.

  • nice answer i agree a sword never goes down doesnt make sound etc etc

  • @RouninRobinu they equip you with swords but not samurai ones. so i doubt you could successfully brake someones gun in battle with a sword. there is one fancy item called a sword breaker which is basically a metallic comb like item where you lodge and snap swords quickly with them.

swords nowadays are only best when you're hidden; and i doubt your chest will survive a shotgun blast close up.

  • @agentkungeh except in a stand off I'd rather have a katana indoors/in close because its so maneuverable, light and deadly. shotguns are great but have limited ammo, heavy, and don't load very fast.

  • it wouldn't matter if that was any old cheap sword.

the bullet is made out of led, although led is dense, its soft. bullets also go red hot and they travel so fast that they would explode on impact.

water could probably even be enough to make a bullet explode

  • guns are for pussys swords are for real men dodge that

  • if you went into the army and was given the choice of a gun which could save your life and a sword that you wouldn't be able to use because you would gunned down before you can. you would pick the gun.

  • Why can't we use swords again like the good old times? Where it actually takes some skill and experience.

  • i know what u mean man i wish it =[

  • we use knives

and guns take alot of skill

  • war isn't fun

guns are better killing devices therefore we replace swords with them. we use bayonet knives aswell so i really dont get your point.

  • You two are just thinking Call of Duty here, knives are very very rarely used in the army. I don't think any army even actually uses bayonets, they were commonly used in WWII and I but I but I doubt they are still used. Guns take a lot of skills but really it takes only a few hours to learn and maximum of a few years to become 100% fully experienced. While it takes many years to master a sword, just so that you don't accidently cut yourself when fighting and it takes decades to fully master.

  • Bayonets are never used but they are equipped with you. the reason why there not used is because its extremely dangerous to go close up to the enemy.

If you want to fiddle around in your kung fu then join the police. they wont get bombarded by artillery if they get close up.

Also, you are never 100% fully experienced at anything. you could always have shot faster than you had before or you could have always swung in the better direction.

  • para mi el katana es el mehor arma para combate

  • bueno...yo esperaba mas de una katana...pero contra una machine guner, digo q resistio mucho...7 balas seguidas en el mismo sitio

  • What was the point of this? They ruined a perfectly good katana just to see if it would break? Of course! Bullets can break just about anything.

But it's pretty interesting seeing bullets split in two.

  • what's the music?

  • during the slo motion video?

sounds like the van helsing movie. dont know name of the son though

  • this just goes to show you, a bladed weapon can over come anything, its the wielder that must overcome its faults to fulfill the blades full potential. SO TO EVERY SWORD USER< KEEP UP THE TRAINING!!!

  • anything can overcome anything

  • you are right and thanks ive been training with a sword since i was 6

  • sure...

because a samurai sword is gonna defend you from artillery fire, right? blocking a bullet with your sword would almost be in impossible in real combat.

  • there's a martial art that is the most powerful of all .... it's called..... I Shoot You!

  • well duh. what else was gonna happen. jeez. ppl get over excited about jap swords man

  • If they tell me to choose for a battle a sword or a gun i would choose a sword , fighting with a sword is more honorable than fighting with guns guns are machines but usig swords is using your whole body techniques i really respect samurai swords.

  • then you get shot................in the face

  • george lucas will be happy to star you in the next star wars episode.

  • to tell you the truth, I would be more afraid of a guy all bloodied carrying a sword than a guy with a gun...

  • I shoot in competitions in my local range and shoot up to 800yds+ and ur highly understimating the skill a person needs to operate a firearm with ACCURACY. U have to control ur breathing, lower ur heart rate, have proper trigger squeeze technique. I can even see my own pulse having an affect when i shoot my Rem700p i can see the crosshairs moving to the rythme of my heartbeat when shooting freehanded. Thats not even considering crosswinds, bullet drop, cartridge loads, bullet grain etc.

  • and at 800+ yards all a swordsman has to do is step left or right to even dodge the bullet

  • Wtf are you talking about dodge bullets? I hope your being sarcastic. Guns do not operate or behave like they do in the movies you know. A bullet travels multiple times faster than the speed of sound. Ex my rifle fires 308 winchester. A cartrige that travels around 2700+ fps with a 165 grain bullet.

This means you are dead before you hear the bang of the shot at those ranges.

"dodge bullets" LOL that gave me a good laugh.

  • if a gunsman were within open sight of a swordsman, all the swordsman would honestly have to do is shift his body weight when the trigger would be pulled, and the speed of sound varies according to the weather, which for example is roughly 760 mph at 59*F, most of the time dodging a bullet fired within sight range of one person to another requires a lot of luck, but it is not impossible

  • I still disagree with what your saying. The time between the trigger pull and the person moving is still too slow to dodge a bullet. I mean the bullet is traveling at muzzle velocity of 2700 feet per second. I respect your opinion so please respect mine lol! Also dont forget there are automatic weapons too so even if the first shot misses he still gonna get it. And if the swordsman is so great why arent they around anymore? Just better weapons and tactics such as firearms have evolved combat.

  • hey this is all about opinions i am not trying to start an arguement, and why are great swordsmen not around, cause people back then knew to anticipate and shoot where the swordsman was heading, not for where he was a second ago and your points as well..opinions are respected and points are proven and that is why people have gotten along, for the most part.

  • All i know is if i was being shot at ill jump in to the water, cause its been proven youll be safe from most guns at 2 ft under water :D

  • um... slight thing about that, sure you'd probably be safely hidden, but since sound travels 5x faster in water than it does in air, i'm pretty sure a bullet will probably cut through the water rather quickly, like i said before it requires a lot of luck but it is not impossible

  • actually, todays guns fire so fast most of them break on impact of water, becoming near useless after getting as deep as 2 feet, so if your lucky enough for the shooter to miss a few shots, try to get into some semi-deep water.

  • theres more resistance in water than air, the bullet wont travel as far in water as it does in air. Sound has nothing to do with the bullet in water.

  • great swordsmen are not around because they were driven off the battle field by the musket. a musket is really slow compared to a modern gun. and no, you cant dodge a bullet once it has fired. you wouldn't even be able to react to it.

  • @agentkungeh i was done with that debate 9 months ago man... no need to bring it back up

  • Look at the damage on the katana after only 1 bullet. It's terrible. Not to mention that theoretically even if you do the most awesome thing ever and attempt to slice a bullet in two, the most obivus thing that would happen would be that you'd double the damage onto yourself by now getting hit by BOTH the bulletparts!

  • DUH!!! Do you actually think this test was conducted with the intent of actually using the sword to block bullets in real combat?? It just an experiment.

  • why do you think it might hit me just think about it when its cut in half it moves away from you.

  • another katana hype vid...!

the bullets were redhot and softened! the bullets cut themselves! not the katana! if anyone want to argue, consult a metallurgist first!

  • the katana have cut the bullets and did you see the water cutter ?? it couldnt cut the katana cut the katana have cut the water.

  • yeah, ive seen those vids. any sword with a good geometry would do fine against a water cutter and the bullet stuff, well, ive explained it in my previous post. any properly tempered piece of steel CAN cut a bullet because ofcourse, its redhot and softened

  • "You know youre a redneck samurai when...."

    LOL

  • lol who needs guns?

  • What a waste. A katana is a piece of art.

  • If some alien ever asks to you "What is human stupidity like?", show him this video. This is it! Stupidity at its best.

  • no that would be showing him your comment on this video

  • wow thats a badass sword

it fucking sliced 50.cal bullet peircing rounds into 2

    god damn

  • That first slow motion round being neatly sliced/divided by the blade is a testament to the craftsman's skill in my book. Glad I saw it.

  • wtf... u just destroyed a perfectly good Katana fucking idiots...........RAWRRRR

  • thats what it's purpose was o.o

  • o.o wtf....stfu with ur fucking o.o i can maka ur mom say o000 a.... and I can beat the fucking shit out of u.

  • um ok dude was that nessesary AT FUCKING ALL?!? whats up with u fucker? ur freaking out because somone destroyed a sword and then somone gave u a reason they did it then u fuckin freak out on his ass about how you could beat him up its like wtf? does that have to do with anything?!? u grumpy-ass fucker who sucks your dads dick for 2$ evrey night!

  • if ur talking to me then u know what how about u stfu u dont even know what ur fucking talking about fucking ignorant fucking idiot u have no clue, this isnt just a fucking sword idiot this is a way of life, this is art! asshole it takes one to know one so you are the one sucking ur dads dick every day for fucking free. fucking cunt u trying to tell me that I fucking get mad when they fucking destroy art of fucking course i get mad cauze of that. ur so fucking ignorant, u little fuckin kid.

  • um ok whatever you want to think you can think but just to let you know i do respect the katana sword not as a peice of art but as a weapon because thats what it is whether you like it or not. bitch

  • hey ya know what! you fucker! i respect the katana sword i just dont respect the fact that u insulted that guy for no real reason and so im sry if i offended you by saying its just a sword but thats ALL IT IS and yes it is a beautiful sword but its still simply a sword

  • This shows the katana has great strength. It doesnt mean that a swordsman could beat someone with a machine gun. No Japanese swordmaster would suggest it does.

The modern day Samurai would fight with gun, even though he may study sword fighting to acknowlege his relationship to the past. Soon it will be lasers and then who knows maybe it will be thought but the martial artist trained in Budo will always have an advantage

  • the swords welds broke

  • very nice

  • It is impressive the sword stood strong as long as it did, but it probably would not have lasted as long against armor piercing roads.

  • well no shit its gonna break a samuri sword those thins cut threw bank vaults like butter

  • what gun and what caliber bullets?

  • Any good European sword would do that...

  • I agree Duckzilla123...

  • it showed the same thing like 70 times

  • whats the name of the music that starts at about 1:10?

  • However good, it is just a sword. obvious outcome, very obvious for anybody who is not a teen ...

  • @winniler I agree. Katanas are aesthetically very distinctive, but at the end of the day, they're still just another type of sword; they're good at what they're meant for. They are not (as you point out) made of magical fucking sparke-dust, as so many people seem to believe.

  • @winniler aside from a teen who learned of swords thru iaido rather than anime. very obvious

  • Omg whey can shoot a metal stick 1/5

  • no u retard the sword cut the bullets in half

  • no shit they shot at it.
