Socialist Party USA could help itself a lot by rethinking their policies on personal income. They take income redistribution to an unnecessarily extreme degree that is quite a turn-off for many. They want the minimum wage to stand at $15/hour and the maximum wage to be $150/hour. Very few people in the American left would support that. As far as mainstreaming Socialism in North American societies is concerned, I think Jack Layton/NDP (Canada) has got it right.
