in starcraft 2 I dont see any diffrence really between high and ultra so in high it would be 60fps all the way, overclock the gpu to 750mhz for 10% extra fps for games 2012 :)

The M11x (the younger brother of the M14x) has even more trouble with Starcraft II. It will play on Ultra, but during the last campaign mission the framerate stutters quite a bit.

If you are a competitive player, you're probably going to end up turning down all the settings anyway, as they just get in the way of micro-ing your troops.

I play SC2 using the exact same laptop and i play online using a wireless connection......There is no lag at all (unless your internet is crap) and no the screen does not flicker at all....This game runs very smooth on ULTRA settings.......The fans can get loud but that is to be expected considering the output....

Hi can you help me , i got the same M14x , brand new , just with graphic card overclocked to 750 , but when i run starcraft 2 with ultra settings everything is so slow, even the game tells me to reduce graphics,  the utilization on CPU,GPU and RAM is not even to the half of full processing.

the m14x will lag with loads of army in starcraft ultra settings...it will have a really smooth gameplay only when the settings go on high

@Yekknom No, there isn't a comparison because Macbook Pros are not a laptop built solely for gaming like Alienware laptops. Why would you even consider getting an MBP if all you wanted to do was game? The point of the MBP is that it does EVERYTHING and pretty well. It can still game with 35+ fps as high settings, and comes with a lot of useful software. Your argument is pointless. I don't even have a mac and your comment still seems stupid.

The whole point of recording on a camera is to show you the ACTUAL FPS. If I record it on the laptop itself the FPS will be cut in half if not worse...
