Actually, from my personal esperience. Having used both blender and anim8or now, I prefer the later. It is so easy to create things. Perhaps there was a problem with blender and vista, but I'm using anim8or from now on.
Zbrush Blows both of these puny NOOB programs out of the water.. as for blenders web site "sampel pics" most are done with Zbrush then stuck (DOWN GRADED) into Fagner a.k.a blender

Okay, enough of the Blender anim8or fight! Okay? I'm a blender user, I personally think it's better, but I just think the main problem with anim8or is the render engine. There! I said it. Now, shut up idiots and if you really want to get into 3D arts, buy Maya.
Start with Google Sketchup and then go into Blender. Or just buy "The Essential Blender" and download Blender. It's a great guide that teaches you everything!
Thanks for the comment, but I don't need you to tell me what software I should use... It looks like several Blender fans are trying to piss of as many Anim8or users as possible (talking about that "Blender vs Anim8or" video...)
@smellyuglydork Please, understand that anim8or's renderer is capable of almost photorealism with a little effort when it comes to lighting. There seems to be some sort of vendetta against anim8or on youtube, which is fucking annoying. As one who has used both, I prefer pov-ray to either. That doesn't mean its the package you should be using. Nor is the package you prefer the one everyone else should be obliged to use. Helpful advice is ok, 'use blender because anim8or looks fake' is stupid.
Well I think "Use Blender instead of Anim8tor" IS helpful advice.

I'm well aware that Anim8tor can produce results much better than is shown here, but I still maintain that Blender is the better choice in almost all respects. I simply don't want people to work with a program that is (in my opinion) crap, when the alternative is superior and compeltely free. Anyway, I didn't mean to offend. Suit yourself.
@smellyuglydork I understand the advantages blender holds over anim8or. I certainly concede that there are some effects which are extremely difficult to replicate with the latter. I do think that anim8or takes too much flak on youtube, and it irritates me when people who clearly can't use either software rip shit out of a nice little program I like. On the other hand, I shouldn't have attacked you for your comment, and I certainly make no assumptions about your experience or motivations. Sorry.
