It is the power of positive thinking that makes you better. You don't "need" a placebo to be able to do this. Mother Natures will to live is not fully understood by science yet, but it should be by now.
But if a placebo helps you, then by all means, do what works for you. :)
I'm not quite sure that you understand what the placebo effect is. You don't get any positive effects aside from "feeling" better. Just because you think its working, doesn't mean its going to prevent what it says it will prevent. Thats not the placebo effect. You may feel like you have more energy, or be "happier", but it won't actually be stopping any disease, or do anything that real, science based medication would.
