More more more! Great playing. What is your opinion of the P 90s? How do they compare to HB's? My band does some Zep, etc., and I lke the fat Les Paul sound with HB's for those numbers, but I want a 290 with the right arm contour (they off it for a nominal up charge).
@thewretchedrod p90 is a single coil humbucker uses two single coils in series. It all depends on the specs but usually the humbuckers sound fatter and dirtier. But i have telecaster pickups that sound fatter than PAF humbuckers, like i said it depends on the specs
I've always thought Dumbles sound kinda thin and cheesy. Very eighties soft rock... Kinda like this clip..... Great playing, but boring (**to me**) tone...
@mourningleaves checkout my videos. Even with a tele it sounds fat. Greg likes a brighter tone and the alnico blue speakers which have alot of upper mids and highs and not so much bass.
@fatharmonix I dont hear twang i hear brightness. And most of it is coming from the alnico blue speakers. I dont like them with these amps, IMO D style amps prefer warmer sounding speakers
if i wanted to find a song like the one you were playing, what kind of genre or band would i look for? i am an intermediate guitar player opening up to different genres of music.
Hi, just check my latest cd "Blue In Red" for more stuff like this. It's a mixture of Blues, R&B, Jazz - all instrumental with my Band. If you in the USA you find Gregor Hilden CDs at CDBaby

Check the Ceriatone site. Overtone Special is the one for Dumble-iciousness.
There are demos on YouTube, sounds great.
Two guys to check...MarinBlues and SheetsofSound.

how do these collins guitars compare to the gibson les pauls the vos guitars?? cheers..
fretboarder 3 years ago
Collings usually supplies 'Jason Lollars' pickups in his guitars. Lollar makes a great repro of a P-90!
Rich915 3 years ago
Yes, they are Lollars inside!

are those Gibson P-90s? Or off-brands. I heard Fralin's P-90s are top notch and wondered which ones u were using?
DEADHAWK076 3 years ago
omg thats such a beutiful tone, u would expect it to be crunchier coming out of a lp, but somehow it pulls it off, is that a chambered?
ThePittstructor 3 years ago
Thanks. No it is a non-chambered solidbody
GregsGuitars 3 years ago
i didn't know p90s could pull that off. i thought they were just distortion pickups. can they do blues too?
giantsown10 3 years ago
Shure they can! Very bluesy!

i think so too
