Anoop Desai Sings the National Anthem

This is exactly how a National Anthem should be sung. Pitch perfect, no over the top runs or vibrato no over the top background music. Chart topping 'Divas' should take some lessons from this instead of murdering it because they think it sounds good.

Okay seriously, why doesn't he get to sing the national anthem more often...? I hate listening to botched versions *cough christina augilera cough* at the super bowl. He has such a great voice :]

obviously 5 people missed the like button or had their computer monitor upside down when they pressed it lol...when I first saw this video...I almost wondered if they made an Indian sing the anthym to show the awkwardness of race...but after listening to his sincere voice...all my doubts are gone :) He's gonna go very far and do great in life :D

I'm not the biggest idol fan, although there have been some great male voices to come out of that show (Elliott, Anthony, Anoop). Anthony Fedorov, IMO, sings the Anthem like none other. Anoop does a great job though.

Great song. I am glad he sang it the way it was meant to be. It disappoints me when I go to a ball game and the singer tries to change it up. I loved the high notes.

The most outstanding thing is that he sings this knowing the capabilities of his voice but doesn't do unnecessary runs and fills. He hits every note, sings dynamically and shows a lot of class. 5/5!

My question is: why is there a camera guy in front of him? Where was this televised?

I mean NESN and Fox Sports televised the game, but they did not show the singing of the national anthem. I wasn't too thrilled. They just showed a ton of commercials.

They were showing the closeup video on all the "JumboTron" megascreens all throughout the arena (I have one still pic of one in this vid), and this was just before the 7:45 tipoff - TV almost NEVER shows the National Anthems at every game, college or professional.
