You put the bent sword in his hand wrong. It was facing backwards. It's an african style sword, similar to the Kukri. The bend faces forward.

this mecha design was originated from banpresto's super robot wars alpha2. Eventually the concept of banpresto originals become quite famous and started off with their anime few years ago but the show haven't come to the part where this mecha start to show up.

As for a sequel to Divine Wars based on OG2.. well, don't get your hopes up. =\
