@PlayerVid yes. as long as time is left it counts. i hate when players shoot uncessary shots. it delays the game. in the 1970's if you take uncessary shots it will be charged as a technical foul. today's NBA i've noticed when a game is stopped players just take shots & no calls.

Good point, but you don't see coaches throwin a bitch fit when a player simply hangs on to the ball, not even attempting the long shot. So why the heck is this such a big deal. Realistically that shot had no chance of going in on time, and Nate knew this when he shot the dang ball. 0.5 is not enough time to take like 10 steps and then shoot. Oooooooohhh please...

A lot of players just hold the ball when there's a a second or less on the clock and don't attempt a shot cause it screws their shooting % which I think is cowardly enough, but .5 is more than enough time to get your feet set and measure one up from halfcourt. Quite makeable for a pro. Bad enough to give up on a play, he took it to another level. The refs don't go by the clock or the buzzer, it's the red light around the backboard and there's a delay there. It came way too close to counting.
