i do like the xsi i love the 306 had a dturbo before i have a 1.8 meridian its only 110hp but it goes pretty well got 125mph out of it ... but these engines are rubbish on economy i get 25 or less if i drive quite hard the GTI6 is even worse even though its a great engine considering a 180hp 1.4 turbo fabia does 45mpg
@MillsyDT thats not a fair comparison, not only is the fabia u are on about 16 grand, but it is a completely different type of engine, ie brand new turbo and supercharged technology, compared to a 1 grand 2.0 na engine... thats like comparing a bmw 525 tds to a brand new 535d, they are completely different generations... compare liek for like, ie 306 xsi vs fabia of that generation and its a hands down pug victory. thanks anyway...
I have one great car fast good looking but i find it a bit slippery on corners, i usually need to drop into 3rd to power them to stop asswipes driving up my rear.Mine is 135bhp anyone any sugestions on best mods 2 put it up a bit? The wheels on it are the standard cyclones,i just feel they don't hold well compared to a wider wheel.
my friends xsi was 135bhp and she just put an induction kit and done a decat and we got it on the rollers and its now putting out 142.5bhp shes just bought a gti6 inlet manifold now. Ill be doing those same mods to my 306 cabriolet (same engine)
Gti6 cams and intake manifold and exhaust manifold and a remap, plus the usual exhaust and induction mods plus the gti6 front brakes would be good to go for, the rear beam is the same as the gti6 206 gti180/307hdi front brakes will work as well
@jarrus464 Sweet thanks man, I actually have a 1.8 pug 306 meridan now, Its 110bhp but to be honest has a great pull on it plus is little bit better on fuel than my XSI.
@Ecosse3d There are no easy mods as far as power is concerned, the gti-6 inlet/exhast cylinder head will fit with some work, as far as the handling is concerned idk. if you are looking for more power just save up and buy the gti-6.
Agree'd, but i can barely afford to insure it as it is =]
However, i'm ordering a straight through sportex centre section, which is the stock diameter but no box, and i'll just say it was already on there if insurance asks =D
@paulwisdom2008 Declare it else you could be in the shit, it shouldn't cost too much extra as the perfomance difference will be next to nothing, i guess you just want more noise?
@jarrus464 My XSI had one of these fitted. When I first bought the car I planned to get it changed but having driven it I loved the extra BRAAAAP induction noise so decided not to change it.
Crismill lane bearsted.Maple leaf garage lol.
I want a 306 xsi 2.0.Been after one for ages.Anyone got any info regarding reliability or known common issues?

195/55/R15 is the best size to have on a 306 - hence them bieng on a GTi 6.

And mp3mcp1, on watching all the video, he drove perfectly fine to me. Without driving like a totally arrogant c**t anyway =]

@noobtube82 Whats that? and induction kit?
jarrus464 9 months ago
@jarrus464 Yeah, it was just a cone filter straight off the throttle body, no cold air feed though so probably didn't add any hp.
