My friend, you seem like a very nice educated young man. I want to tell you that Sallie Mae will rack up fees and interest on that balance. I hope this is the principal balance and not the 1000/monthly payment that most of us get stuck with. If it is the total balance, I suggest you pay it off completely with a credit card. Don't mess around with them if you can't handle the heat. I've decided to screw them, because I can beat them. If you can't you should pay it, it is not much.

Believe me it gets worst before you get bettter. In the video you said you owe them $1000. Rest assured in a matter of a few years your balance will be close to $2000.
