I always have loved animal collective and was familiar with Noah's solo work and thought it was pretty alright, but after hearing this song in its entirety whilst really blazed my perspective has radically changed from just alright to sublime. its not really a song so much as a sound collage until around 1:41. also, taking pills is terrible and i love these lyrics. im not sure i like this. like, the little bits of singing are lovely but this is mostly hardcore ridiculous and not very good.

I agree about the second part though. I think you may be mislead about the subject of this song, it's about antidepressants and how they helped him in the past, and half of the lyrics for the second part is encouraging not to take them them.

I like the ideas in this song. He makes the point that he doesn't want to take pills anymore but also realizes that its "not that it's bad" but that "because we're stronger/and we don't need them."

It sort of points to the problem that sometimes it may be easy to try to solve a problem with medication, but its not always necessary. It's a good case for being responsible for one's own health.
