@MrHillbillyjoe well it looks to me like it was already a demolition derby car before, so its not that worse^^ but i love those old american cars, no offence :) im driving a 1977 ford ltd 4door sedan myself :)
Hey lets leave a big ass thing of gas sitting next to a car that we expect to explode and then all stand right next to it so that we all get blown up :)
We did cash for clunkers at my dealership. I could have cried watching the lube tech destroy perfectly good powerplants. It made me sick. 20 years of pulling cars like this out of dirt fields and fixing them. Just disgusting. I wanted to sue our federal government for enmotional distress.
Why is anyone moaning at the loss of this car? The engine sounded screwed in the first place, and the body is totally fucked. A Caddy of this age is worth nothing, so is not worth restoring. I like cars a lot, but some even I wouldn't save.
I dabble with motors along side people much more skilled than I. Out respect for the original craftsmanship, and motors in general, I would tell someone to "you know what," if they ever presented an idea such as this. Shame on you if you're an engine builder.
the car was probley at a junkyard he could sell the motor but that would probley take time or have to pay someone to get it out which would cost more than 50 bucks
Why do people do things like this? I mean if the car sucks that bad, sell it for $50 in a Mcdonalds parking lot or something. Make a little cash at least. >:(
@wease1884 I don't know the Olds and Buick motors as well as Chevy. Thanks for the info. I do know the Olds 307 was more powerful than the Chevy 307 and was used in the 80's 442 I think 84-88.
Olds 307 was based on Olds 350. Totally different animal from Chevy 307 and more power. Chevy 307 only had a two barrel carb the Olds had a 4 barrel higher compression and more aggresive cam. Don't get me wrong I love my Chevys but their 307 was strictly an economy/emissions piece. Mine had so-so power but clean as a whistle on the exhaust "sniffer" and pushing 20 mpg in a >4000 lb Impala.
WRONG all GM olds rocket 307's were quadra jet 4 barrel and was based off the 289.the olds 350 was based off the buick 350 but used a differnt stroke set up and had bore.
Are you joking? I have a 307 Olds with 5A heads in my 1985 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible! Olds and Chevy both made 307 cubic square inche engines but Olds was a success and Chevy was a failure! Don't you feel dumb?
that motor is a 4.1 no dought in my mind look where the (ac) is its in the middle of the engine i have 4.1 and a 350 diesel check it out on youtube1972 buick skylark w 100 spoke rims
Good call! Now the 4100 had the famous GM "puff puff" rev limiter - BUT the compressor on top center would indicate a Caddy engine. Can you say "425"?
thats not a 425 look at the front bumper thats an 80's cadillac 79 and and back is a 425 1980 and up was(4.1 252) (5.0 307) (350 5.7 diesel) (rare 5.7gas or 368 option was around .....
fuck you man so i miss spelled a few words i may not be book smart, but i is real smart when it comes to farmin and shit and it was fun and that all that matters people like u piss me off! i'd like to see you do half the shit i do everyday

you need to learn some respect these cars were awesome, who cares about performance when you have all the good looks you need. im done with wasting words on you, people like you just aint worth it. congrats... you think like every other halfwit moron out there
@coolsax64 its sweet how you think your "opinion" is actually relevant, i dont know where you live or what world its in but in this world old american cars last forever if treated right, you have eyes right? how often do you see a 30 to 40 year old asian car on the road? And dont tell me bullshit about "oh jap cars wouldnt blow up under these circumstances" truth is any car would. If you had any sense of reason you would say well ill try driving one of these and then make a sound judgment.
