this is so wonderful, well done for teaching your kidspart of their heritage. i have enjoyed watching it. your kids are lovely. its informative and interesting...
Glad you liked it. That little boy is now 16 and ever so slightly embarrassed every time I refer to his performance here. We returned to the village in 2004 and made another video 5 years on from this one. Hopefully we'll get back there again next year to see how life is 10 years on.
Excellent! This is very educative, and I am sure your children will cherish this video for life! Thank you very much for reporting without bias. You taught your children to respect other people's cultures without demeaning or being judgemental. Excellent work! As a Zimbabwean parent, I feel so highly motivated watching your children's video! Great JOB! Don't we love IRELAND!
WE must work. it is good for our health. In Africa, we work, to keep good sound mind body and spirit. Hey everyone, lets work! Get back to traditional life=sustainable life.
Wow! This is awesome documentary for educational purposes. In my 4th year in Nursing School this semester in USA, one of the projects I was required to complete was to select a country in the world and talk about their culture, their way of life and the impact professional nursing can have. I searched everywhere for material relevant to Zimbabwean culture and could not find any. Then, while searching YouTube, I stumbled on Colm and Norah videos, and I knew I had struck gold.....
......On the day of presentations, I had 30 minutes to do my presentation, I and logged onto YouTube, gave a brief introduction and for the next 18 minutes the whole class watched this Colm & Norah video as introduction to Zimbabwean culture. My classmates were all captivated and held in great suspense, awe and interest as the video played. People were caught by various things on the video. Some wished they could have an opportunity to have their kids have such cultural trips......
......My Irish-American professor commented on the marvelous disposition of Colm & Norah who conducted themselves like professional journalists in things that were not customary to the Irish. I was mobbed with praises for an excellent presentation all because of the impact Colm & Norah video had on the whole class. The project had 100 points and I scored highest with 99% after a point deduction for my public speaking abilities. This is a must-have-video for a Zimbabwean living in western world.
great 2 see a video embracing a diff part of the zim culture rather than critisising it
&& its great 2 c lil kids actually learn wer they cum frm cus u find some kids frm Zim hu have lost touch and have no clue. so this is great to see !!
