  • Amazing! What's the man's mind! (Or... not only!?)

  • Looks like an adapted rotary broach to me. Been around for years.

  • its very simple compare to japan drill bit

  • Why not just cut the hole with a square broach?

  • minecraft

  • I don't think i saw a "square hole"...

  • cool

  • saw this done in a mill back in 82 my tool and die instructor had a set. worked pretty cool but looked scary to run LOL.

  • fapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfap

  • well, im clearly lost on youtube, watching this... goodnight..

  • good but can you cut a dodecagonal hole

  • Is aluminum ?It can be use for steel ?

  • I'd lke to measure that up

  • its more like milling, isn't it?

  • It's called milling not drilling. That is not a drill bit dick head.

  • @kenndogg51

He is using a lathe. The workpiece is powered not the bit, so it is not milling. Either lathe boring or drilling. Looks like drilling to me since the bit floats and finds it way.

One can mill on a lathe, it requires a fixture to X,Y,Z, the workpiece, and mounting the bit in the headstock.

  • @HondoTrailside it's endmilling dude. now don't reply dumass

  • @kenndogg51 An endmill is a type of tool, like you the. The machine here is a lathe, and the tool is fixed not powered.

  • @HondoTrailside there is already a hole in the workpiece so it has already been bored. he is using an endmill to shape the square out using the edges of the endmill. the endmill isn't stationary, it moves. what else can i say. i do the same thing on a vertical shaper a.k.a. "slotter" would you call that boring or drilling a square?

  • sexy ^ ^

  • Porn in the background!

  • that's very useful for engineering students.......so knock it off you bustards!!!!!!!!

  • @MrJigsaw004 u are miss using the word 'engineer'!!

  • Wiki this -> Watts_Brothers_Tool_Works These guys make drills that can do this.

  • this is the most boring video in the world

  • strangely sexual

  • Kind of like a rotary broach?

  • Knocks the crap out of the square peg in a round hole theory.

  • I can't believe I just saw this! I entered square hole drill just to see what goofy videos might be out there. Talk about being majorly blindsided.

  • Drill a hole in the vigina ,a lot of blood will came out and it have vibration too :D

  • @eminem1214 Wow dude, thats just sick. I cant believe people say crap like this, when someone drills a hole in your penis, let me know how it feels.

  • The initial condition of the hole or the target was barely seen to appreciate the attempt

  • Fantastic!!

  • dud. LASERS...

  • Great! I would like make it in home. Is there a Reuleaux triangle inside this equipment? Combine Reauleaux with other system? It is a Watts´s coupling? Thanks a lot. Aurelio -Brazil

  • Dear Jacques

Greta. I would like to make it in home. Do you have a scheme or diagram to help me? Thanks Aurelio-Brazil

  • close up look at the hole please ;)

  • how to buy???

  • Comment removed

  • Arrgh! This is so frustrating! I want one but don't want to pay over a Grand for the setup from a commercial company!! I want to make my own!

I hear that this tool can be homemade and I am kicking myself because I can't get that issue of Model Engineer Magazine issue 4285. Is there ANY source on the web where I can get instructions/plans to make this thing?!!!

  • check mine out for a drilling a perfectly square hole in wood.

  • I'd like to own one too. Where can we get one

  • Does this "vika" attachment come in a set of different nominal sizes?

  • Yes but I don't know where it can be found now. Look at the text aside the video "square hole drilling".

  • Any one knows where this Vika attachment is sold ?

    love to own one .

    THANKS

  • thats not drilling a hole.. it already had a hole in it..

  • A Little hard to see in the video. The brass rod is what is getting machined with the square hole. Interesting never seen this before. The steel disc that is held onto the brass with a set screw is a guide for the cutting tool to follow.

  • o ok.. it looked like it was concentrating on the piece with the hole in it.. i cant see the brass rod that well during the vid, he shoulda done a close up before drilling..

  • sorry for the reply, didn't realise someone else had allready answered this

  • meh w/e its cool.. i prefer to get answered with the same thing twice than nothing once..

  • @ BCRguy

Thats the guide, the solid material is behind it

  • amazing human ingenuity. bravo

  • My cordless drill can do that just fine. but sometimes the square looks more like a huge crack in the wood.

  • хуйня чушь

  • This is the Watts Method. I used to have some of the tools made by Watts Brothers, who invented the process. Neat demo

  • what the heck

    how does this work??????

  • What is that tool called and where can I get one??

  • This is a home made tool fully described in the English magazine "Model Engineer" issue N°4285. But it is commercialy available, easy to find on the web.

  • Its called a Broach.

  • @trailbusterbrute

    Commonly called a "wobble Broach""

  • @trailbusterbrute

No, thats different. This is akin to the Watts chuck.

  • Explain it!
