If you have Windows (at least XP anyway) be sure you have Service Pack 3 downloaded. With that, it should not be a problem updating AVG Free. I have SP3 and the latest AVG Free, so I know it works.

If you aren't sure if you have SP3, right click 'My Computer', click 'Properties', and on the first screen that opens you'll see 'System:' look under that...

That has nothing to do with your internet browser.That is either to issues.1 it could be your PS3 is running off or wifi and its not hardwired.Or,your internet service download speed is not for hard downloading.Example:10mbpsdown over 2mbps up is week.Fios is the way to go.

To be honest wired and wireless (G and up) will not make any difference to your internet speed... Only your network transfer speed (LAN gaming, ect.)

I tried AVG a few years ago. I didn't like it one bit!! When it picked up even the slightest risk, it "screamed" in my ear! I uninstalled it immediately after that and went back to Norton. I don't like Norton either, but at least it ran quietly. Now I use Windows Live OneCare. MUCH better!

What site are you basing your opinion on? I'm basing min on experience. McAfee is just like Norton with detection and they both take too much resources on a computer. Best is NOD32 or Kaspersky, much better definitions, detections rates, and take A LOT less resources.
