They were generals in a country that had been forced into being allied with Nazi Germany. Romania had tried to form two regional alliances with other countries in order to contain Germany but failed because the West refused to provide any help. The West wanted appeasement.
Eventually Romania didn't have a choice, ally or be destroyed. They fought for Romania, not Nazi Germany.
That said, many who praise people such as Antonescu forget that he also had to comply with German demands.

His name is Ion Dumitrache and he was general of the mountain troops. Despite his rank he used to sleep in the first line with his soldiers. He was commander of the Mountain Troops in 1945 and fought against the soviet partisans in Crimea.

They were generals in a country that had been forced into being allied with Nazi Germany. Romania had tried to form two regional alliances with other countries in order to contain Germany but failed because the West refused to provide any help. The West wanted appeasement.
Eventually Romania didn't have a choice, ally or be destroyed. They fought for Romania, not Nazi Germany.

His name is Ion Dumitrache and he was general of the mountain troops. Despite his rank he used to sleep in the first line with his soldiers. He was commander of the Mountain Troops in 1945 and fought against the soviet partisans in Crimea.

After WWII, the Russians treated the Romanians like shit.
