No, because going through the motions of getting the money takes time. Time that is so very very precious. Plus, it doesn't work when you use the actual Flee skill. Go figure.
Why are getting those Elixirs so important ? Since your Hp and Mp while stay pretty low (because your are level one), I guess you don't need them to heal yourself (Regular Potions and Ethers are enough).
uh am i kinda screwed here since i only have 17 potions and 36 phoenix downs left? ( i dont remember using that many anywayz) or will i have enough till the black mage village to top up?

I recently picked up FFIX again after like 5 years and I'm currently at Fossil Roo (not doing the speed challenge). But I'm assuming its impossible to get back into Fossil Roo once you leave to get the Elixir? This just looks like the biggest pain in the ass in the world.

excalibur 2 PERFECT GAME (e2pg). A perfect game requires you to get all the weapons/items/treasures in the game, in this case, the elixir =).

when i got here last time (not a e2pg) my health was large and small
Zidane - 2500
Vivi - 2200
Garnet - 300 :0
Quina - 2800
grand dragons + limit glove = boring too high a level game / that was my mistake

That's correct, you can't get back into Fossil Roo. And yeah, this is a pain, but believe it or not there are even worse challenges out there...

usually when i flee i lose about 100-600 gil. do you only lose a little bit because of your low level? or are you just lucky?

The amount of Gil you lose is 1/10th what you would have gained, had you won the battle.
