There is a good idea for your songs wich is in your head. This is not bad, but in recording maybe more experience, time is good, sound is good, song is goob, but compresor on vocal find better and equalize all track or try master it. Your hardware is good for it. Try it. Good luck for future. Sorry for english.

yes you do, cubase, protools or logic but make sure you look for compatibitlies with your computer on their websites

please help liliroquelin: i need to record a song from a piano (not electric) and I'm wondering if a mic would work better than a hd video camera (flip mino)... the mic isnt the best quailty though... (logitech) so please help me out and give any tips... thank you so much.

@CMvidproductions actually it might get really complicated to use a microphone because you need to mic the piano on several spots to captue the room, floor and top of the piano. Read the manual of your HD camera about audio, pick a setting for live music. Some cameras also lets you buy their external mic that you hook up on top of the camera and it's much higher quality and it doesn't do much distorsion. Just try to do sveral clips with a tripod from several positions of the camera in the room.

I think it sounds good, but have you ever considered to let someone else do the mastering? Fresh ears do hear more especially because you heard the song a 1000 times already. Even if you think you got most out of the mix, after mastering it will sound even better. Cheers and keep on going!

Why is the vocal mic far away from you? If you're on a budget, get a blanket and drape it in front and possibly over the top of where you sit. Then, place the mic 6 to 8 inches away. Use a pop filter or make one with pantyhose stretched, so your s's and p's don't make noise. Then you'll have a great vocal to work with. I would suggest doing the piano parts first then vocals... good voice by the way.

my dear, your studio monitors should be raised to your ear level on each side ;)

use some books or magazines to get them up higher. trust me--when you go into your main mix you'll hear a lot of things you didn't hear before and your mixes will sound better

man, i had the same M-Audio studio monitors with the little blue lights, but one day they just disappeared from my old bedroom at Mom's house LOL :p
