I started thinking about this wreck and after seeing the video and reading some of these comments I realize that there are a lot of people that need prayer, not just the families of the victims, but the people who witnessed the crash need prayer also.

Before everyone keeps spewing out the stupidity, this happened during a car show/parade, and the driver was Australian--he was showing off and got a little out of control. It did happen in the US, and was not part of any kind of race--just a parade and the driver tried to show off...with horrible results!

This is so sad and should never have happened. Ultimately the organisers and driver should have thought a little before going ahead with such a stupid action. The spectators were probably unaware as to what they let themselves into that day. The organisers and especially the driver were not.

This is a Pro-Mod dragster. It's top speed is around 230mph, with most around the 200mph mark. Not the top-fuel (Nitromethane) cars that run 300+. I live about 10 miles from where this happened and the community still talks alot about it, good and bad.
When I first clicked onto this video I thought this was at a drag strip where even there things can go wrong. But to line a city street with people and have no barriers plus adding a dragster to it you know saomething is bound to go wrong. The only two places to watch these kind of cars and feel safe somewhat is at a drag strip or at home watching them on t.v. Who ever sponsired this was a complete jackass!!!!!!!!!!

It did happen in the US, and was not part of any kind of race--just a parade and the driver tried to show off...with horrible results!

This is so sad and should never have happened. Ultimately the organisers and driver should have thought a little before going ahead with such a stupid action. The spectators were probably unaware as to what they let themselves into that day. The organisers and especially the driver were not.

@RuudJH that is deff not a track, this was on a public street which shouldnt have been allowed, the NHRA takes pride in their sport and take saftey percautions to prevent this. The driver obviously was doing a side gig and its unsafe to do that without a barrier to protect the fans and spectators

I was there when this happened. It was a car show for the charity Cars for Kids. They were doing a parade of cars. At the start of the parade they can do a burnout if they wanted to. The fifured otu that the throttle stuck with open due to a malfunction of the car.

This is a Pro-Mod dragster. It's top speed is around 230mph, with most around the 200mph mark. Not the top-fuel (Nitromethane) cars that run 300+. I live about 10 miles from where this happened and the community still talks alot about it, good and bad.

When I first clicked onto this video I thought this was at a drag strip where even there things can go wrong. But to line a city street with people and have no barriers plus adding a dragster to it you know saomething is bound to go wrong. The only two places to watch these kind of cars and feel safe somewhat is at a drag strip or at home watching them on t.v. Who ever sponsired this was a complete jackass!!!!!!!!!!

The reason they were standing there is because they WERE TOLD TO. Yes, that's right. People told them to stay back a certain amount and then they'd be okay. No one ever expected that to spin out of control. Even if there had been ropes to pull back the crowd, it still would have hit somebody.
