Thank you for posting this rather untypical period song. Most tunes were "cheer up" songs. Sometimes a song may just have a passing reference to the economy such as Resolutions for 1932 - "Buy British, that's what we all must do, that's my new resolution for 1932".
Escaspism was the order of the day and song's such as "There's a good time coming" seemed to capture the public mood.
