  • The Mummies always had the message "F*CK CD's" on their records. I wonder what they think of YouTube?

  • @Ekkthroi They released CD's eventually, so in general I think they don't give a fuck. On the back of Death By Unga Bunga it says, "fuck vinyl, ha ha ha." man, we need more Mummies...

  • woooow¡¡¡ i love garage¡¡

  • Le son est dégueu, comme les mummies !!!!

  • lmfao

  • I just discovered this band. I'm shocked they are from the 90's. One of few bands to truly capture that late 60's garage/70's punk sound.

  • @BboyFlimsy and you my son are a lunatic if you think this was the it sound 1

  • @BboyFlimsy - - The Mummies actually formed in the 80s, believe it or not. For all those kids who think the White Stripes or the Strokes invented garage rock...

  • Comment removed

  • @gabeuop79 --garage rock was around 20 years in the 80s.

  • @gabeuop79 garage rock has been around since the late 50's why in the hell would people think a band formed in the late 90's invented it

  • @kkgetaway ... thnks a lot for that precious information !

  • @fancynot thanks for that precious comment! dont be so sarcastic man

  • amazing garage band

  • haha the music isnt bad but the guys are so fuckin whack looking

  • They actually reached higher levels of recognition in their day as an authority in music and earned their credibility shortly after they wrapped up all required documentation with a note from their Mummy.

  • mummy punk rock. WIN. and i like that other band, watisit....here come the mummies? so fuckin' sue me.

  • What a way to die.

  • These guys are classic I love em cheers for putting this up very funny.

  • hctm should be shot

  • hctm should be shot

  • they must have taken alot from the sonics they sound like a good version of the blood of kings

  • Love this band. Dressing in toilet paper=brilliant.

    P.S. Who/what is HCTM?

  • @TheStrangeSound Here Come the Mummies (HCTM) is a jazz/funk band that plays alot of comedy songs. They're really good, just in a different way from The Mummies.

  • lol

  • DutchVonScumm - looking past the gimmick - The Mummies don't even come close to HCTM as far as musical ability. And we are assholes because we like them? What are you, 16?

  • @DutchVonScumm I didnt know who this here come the mummies bullshit was, so I looked, and they are pathetic and shitty...

  • @DutchVonScumm You=dumbass.

And don't bother to respond because I'm never going to watch this video or read the comments again.

  • This is such fantastic lo-fi garage-punk goodness! I guess some people can't understand the appeal, but that's their loss. The Mummies kick so much ass!

  • @JTrainDowntown yea some people are fucking stupid .this shit is raw!! i love feedback. id take this over some overhyped, over produced, watered down , passionless bullshit any day . people dont seem to understand that just cuz something is basement recorded the musicians are shit ... it is thier loss but then again you could say the same for movies i mean come on whats popular usually garbage.in a way i prefer that i dont like the same music that the majority of mindless drown are told to like

  • My 54 year old mother and my black sister-in-law listen to funk. And jazz. It's all piss poor music, though, honestly, mildly entertaining if all you do is plan on dancing like a goon to it as opposed to listening to it.

The Mummies garage punk, though, is energetic and stylistic and good to listen to.

I suppose if you count people 50+, then funk is still alive. But just because the genre is around doesn't mean it has any juice left in it.

  • who the fuck is HCTM? You have no taste, MUMMIES RULE!! Raw, rock-n-roll!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • why would you say this, no one even listens to funk anymore.

  • Yeah, that's why Here Come The Mummies have frickin' hot-assed babes packed in their audiences at every show...because noone listens to funk anymore...Judas pissin' Priest, do a little research.

  • no really if by hot ass babe you mean old as fuck then yes, no one listens to funk anymore.

  • Tell that to Mike Muir of ST. He's got punk backgound and is still working on new projects with the Infectious Grooves. Try again...or better, expand your horizons!

  • @gregvader Not taking sides here, but you telling everyone here to broaden their horizons, after coming to THIS video and telling everyone the music they like sucks and they should listen to yours sounds a little bit hypocritical. Don't you think?

  • @LOVEKREWz0r

I think you've got that totally backwards. Go to HCTM's videos and see who started the attacks.

  • @gregvader uh, you don't know what you're talking about....at all. no one is putting down HCTM - whatever they are. relax

  • yes.. love the pleasure seekers! this is neat too! dig them threads!

  • The Pleasure Seekers did some great stuff! The original is featured on a disc called Friday at The Hideout.

  • if anyone lives in the bay area and wants to join a band watch my video

  • Are these guys different than Here Come The Mummies, because those guys kick ass

  • NO. They are not the same Mummies. Here Come The Mummies stated this on their site: "this is a totally different band. We formed around 2000, and we did not find out about the 90s punk band "The Mummies" until several years later. Aside from the look and the underlying humor, we do not have much in common. That said, we do find their pictures, music and vibe very amusing."

  • Thee Mighty Mummies...oh yeah

  • Yeah it is a classic .

  • id assume they knew :]

  • Does anyone besides me know this is a song also done by Suzi Quztro and her sisters as The Pleasure Seekers in the 1960`s?

  • yes.

  • id say yes, because it's one of the most over played records that gets dj'ed in the NYC garage rock bar scene haha.

  • No. For sure you are the only one. It's been this way since time began and will always be.

  • Well, some of us did. I have the original. It sounds nice, but I think The Mummies did justice to it.

  • WHAT A WAY TO DIE!!!! AAAAUUUUUGGHH!!

  • Stab a motherfucker in the back

  • wtf I was told Brendon Fraiser was the lead singer, but hes not THIS BAND BLOWS!

just kidding, the Mummies are fucking-great

  • werewolves rule

  • And grunge monkeys thought they were the cool kids, the makers, BJM, and all the other garage rockers were making great music in the 90's. Thanks for the post...

  • But it's a mess! The beat's everywhere, the production's awful and... WHERE'S THE VOCODER?

Man, I feel sorry for kids today.

  • obviously garage isn't for you!

  • esta banda es de lo mejorcito para mi!!

  • this footage didn't look as blurry when i was drunk the other night.

  • they're big in ancient egypt

  • i hear cleopatra dated the lead singer

  • @fascistamericadotnet i get it

  • love this song xoxooooo

  • Fuck yeah!!! ha ha ha!!?

  • AUI!!!

  • I personally dont think egyptians had electrical instruments? correct me if I am wrong...

  • the aliens gave them the instruments after they helped them build the pyramids

  • @caincunt666 it's a wrap!

  • yep your wrong

  • kills hippies on contact!

  • las viejas mummies unos clásicos !!!!

  • so LOL!!!!

  • Yeah but they sure were fun, and that's what counts. You should hear him play the keys!

  • Mummies fucking rule!!! These guys were the best.

  • MUMMIES!!! FTW!!!

    MISS these guys!!!

  • WavyGravy22, a pretty unknown 60's girl band named the Pleasure Seekers did this song first.

  • The bass player from the Pleasure Seekers, Suzi Quatro, did go on to become relatively well known in the UK.

  • ya-suzi is leather tuscadero from happy days and joan jetts role model and the inventor of punk girl rock

  • The Hives certainly aren't near this bluesy.

Although both bands can rock like no other, I don't see a whole lot of similarities between the two.

  • With that said though I do have to give these guys credit for having the balls to actually go out on stage dressed like that in spite of what people may say or think about them. I mean the name of their band is "The Mummies" after all. That Marilyn Manson guy and his band go out on stage dressed as the fictional characters that they've created for themselves, so why not these guys too I guess : )

  • hahaha

i think we need more bands like this nowadays!!

  • Funny....shame about the søund./

  • Shame about the sound??

It sound just a bout right. REAL AND DIRTY

  • Whell....you got me there ☻

it's just the way it should be ♫☺♫

  • this is rad

  • Whose original song are they covering here I wonder? And I'm not trying to be sarcastic or whatever I really am curious as to who did this song first.

  • Ooops, nevermind, I looked through some of the older posts on here and found out it was done in the 1960's by some older garage rock band called "The Pleasure Seekers". Well, I obviously haven't heard of this song or the original band that did it hence my previous post. However, I will check out the original now, though, as I can't say I care too much for this group. They're not as bad as they could be but they're not too great either in my opinion.

  • good stuff, never heard of them

  • Best band ever. They'll play on October 2008 in Spain!!

  • sound sa littl like the stooges

  • lol

  • And I´m sure you don´t know a shit about rock and roll.

  • rock and roll and immature are terms very similar.

    Thank You.

  • Training? That shows you truly know fuck all... if you train, that means it's fake and a performance rather than an appearance as Morrissey would say!

  • Hey Bigmouth, stop letting your bum's turds talk on your behalf, imho

    It discouraged me

  • I'm afraid I must agree with my "bum's turds", dear!

  • Bigmouth93, you know nothing

But at least you are proud of it

    Amerikan maybe?

  • No, not American! I just dislike people looking down on a group or band because they haven't had practise.

  • Hey Bigmouth, stop letting your bum's turds talk on your behalf, imho

    It discouraged me

  • Wide range of training...haha. Nob.

  • Compared to what you currently have favorited...I'd get up and leave...

  • I would kill to have seen this live.

  • trash

  • BTW This is a cover of The Pleasure Seekers - What a Way to Die, a Garage Rock classic from the 60s.

  • It's GARAGE punk. In tradition of Garage Rock of the 60s they dress up as what their names are implying. Like Dracula's, Martians, Caveman's etc...

  • Damn my it
