  • Ive been looking into pmt and grp's, i think i will go pmt but as they are harder to make grip in comparison to larger tyres. Would you recommend soft or supersoft for the rear?.the tyres wont go through much stick, 5 or 6 speed runs an hour.(its normally quite cold) i have hard tc tyres which i got with my marder but even in the heat they are rubbish and the bigger wheels are hampering my top speed, i have access to any ratio gears now so dont need to use bigger wheels. thank

    use big wheels

  • @linzitazim Yeah, the tire thing is a tough one. most people dont care to understand the difference between high traction tracks vs high bite pavements. The oval track is high traction I tend to us Medium up front and xsoft depending on the wing angle. On high bite lots, i use medium fronts and soft rears. The xsofts get shredded too fast there. I would say it all depends on your surface. I use mostly grps and haven't really had much luck with pmt.

  • @AJfishing yes tyre choice is important. when you start thinking about wear rates and optimum grip level /weather etc alot of testing is needed lol. personally, i just need initial grip and a tyre that will hold up over 80mph. i need to be able to launch as quick as possible to reach optimum speed before i run out of space.ill go with ss rear, s front .im not doing lap after lap so i think it should be fine.its not the grippiest of suraces and the wheather is bleek to say the least.

  • pro pipe on obr,or jetpro, high revving. i got over 70mph with a fg using a stock engine a jetpro topend pipe

  • @linzitazim 70 is awesome with a stocker. I try to run a little rich to prevent engine damage. I may loose a few mph but its a lot safer. I know angle at FG supply hit 75 with a stocker but for my purpose, its virtually impossible to run that way. My track is 1/4 long and a race can be up to 2 1/2 miles of continuous full throttle. We need to run rich to save the engines for the season.

  • hey bud, 24 lay shaft, 26-38 up front.

  • @AJfishing 24 lay!!! did you have to dremel half your casing away to squeeze it in lol. im trying 26/38 16/48 at weekend, but thats with fg lorry tyres, see how it goes, think maybe overgearing!

  • @linzitazim yeah, I have to slot the holes for an additional 1/4 inch to I can move the engine forward.

  • hi buddy, would you say thed abbate 26 is better then the obr 27 full mod?

  • @linzitazim the OBR 27.2 is a good motor. I had issues on the first one and sent it back to Obr. It tends to overheat. I just tried the abbate motor and are very happy with the results. It seems to rev alot higher which gives me extremely good take off and acceleration. Probably the best I've ever seen in all the motors I have. But in all fairness, I outfited the abbate setup with lighter rotating mass equipment which may have helped. I used it o a 17lb car. The price is a bit high though.

  • @linzitazim I personally feel the abate is better on a road track but not for high speed oval. OBR 27.2 Full Mod is better due to the power curve. Unless Abbate sends me an engine to do extensive testing, I recommend OBR. OBR, send me a new engine.

  • once again, great fucking driving.....

  • @MiamiJato thanks bud.

  • are the bodies expensive ?

  • @JEHAB1 they are 200.00 usd each.

  • Hope you do a full run one time with a radar gun im thinking about upgrading i got a couple 1/7 street cars thinking a about a fg just not sure if it will be fast enough
