I have one of these in "Barbie Flesh" color myself. They are really something for the money. Word of warning for those who purchase them - Many of them (like mine) came out of OLP with incorrect wiring! A symptom of this is a super muddy sound. Even boosting the highs with the three band EQ will produce nothing but hiss. If yours has this problem you could have the wrong value volume pot loading the pickup down.
ive got an TL OLP, but cant get your sound man!! going during a torque amp so of course rock, metal and prog!! ha i need pedals!! just wondering what your going through!!! like it loads!!!
pjb gear is incredible. i had a sixpak for a couple years. even his cables! and i've always been one to A/B cables and usually just make my own because there's hardly a difference, especially in those overpriced monster cables. but i'll be damned if his cables don't give each of my basses/amps that extra thickness in the mids. even in plenty of double blind tests with both musician friends and my mom- who can't for the life of her pick the bass lines out of songs haha.
Hi intrepgun, i sold my pjb bb and got a superflight case combo in my bedroom. It plays like a dream when i plug in. very sensitive eq knob and freq set. turn a little will have a big change in tone. Yeah, i also use pjb cable, maybe the strongest cable in the market. Hope i got fund to buy a six pak.
i'm currently running an m300 head into the neo-powered 8x5 cab i love the look, like a scale model of an ampeg fridge cab. the 6pak is great, but lacks the almost smooth quality of the neodymium cabs. you could always get a bunch of 4x5 or 6x5 cabs and have a modular, scalable rig. loys of cats doing that these days. pj gear is well suited since it's so, well, pure. it just gets louder with more cabs.
i'm getting one of those and was just looking to hear how it sounds before i make my final decision and buying it. it's worth every penny the way yours sounds so i hope i'l get the same quality too!
just if it comes with a black or sunburst finish :(

I don't use any pedals. I just use a pjb bass buddy preamp. bass->preamp->amp. that's it.

Hi emiolav, sorry, i've no idea about the pickup size.

what kind of amp are you using to get that sound? i got one of those basses but i only find my tone really bassy.

i pluged in a pjb bassbuddy preamp and line out to the 'return' jack of a warwick bc30combo, but all the eq r set flat.
