Because in the universe and 4d difficulties, the enemies always counter your attacks with weak attacks.

@spartyutube 4D AI will counter a powerful hit with a minor attack to interrupt you out of it. It makes sense, until you realise it can be abused.

No. Not exactly. It works on ALL difficulty modes just a bit differently. I've defeated Freya within five minutes with Peppita and Dream Hammer on all difficulty modes, it's just the AAA part that works best on 4D. However Dream Hammer alone is damaging enough to defeat Freya in record times anyway ;)

it has nothing to do with your attack. You have to raise freya's attack through those Enemy Atk+100%/Fol*10 factors. Also, the gutsy bunny. Then lower your own defense as much as possible.

The amount of damage is based on how much she'll do to you.

didn't they make her harder for the non-japanese version? i couldn't beat her without using cliff myself and it still took almost an hour in FD (barely completed the challenge for battle collection) -- and damn, the japanese voices are much better than the english dub =/

Yeah that might be possible seeing as how this game is 2 years older than FFXII, which would mean FFXII tryed to copy it. But even then that is not the case... this is the most advanced battle system fo any game i've ever played that takes a considerable amount of skill, FFXII... no.
