  • Typical american highschool student. These ho's don't get educated, they only master the art of a blowjob by the time they graduate. That's all american public schools are good for. They are shit.

  • Only dumb ass people supports the republicans...

  • this american 17 year old student has the IQ of a 9 year old japanese student. stupidity is the norm in american public schools. intellect is not valued. it's the size of the boobs that matter.

  • It hurts to watch this video.. And I'm not even American.

  • She was camera shy, still funny tho

  • "I personally believe" give a fuck wat u believe- people cant find it on a map coz their fuckin dumb. simple.

  • 2:26 Bill predicted Sarah Palin!

Well, almost. Replace Republican nomination with VP nomination, and there ya go.

  • I want to strangle that dumb bitch until she starts speaking coherently

  • If Maher was one-trillionth as smart as he THINKS he is, his brain would fill the Pacific basin.. several times over.

However in reality, that's what you need to hold how much Maher DOESN'T know.

  • Actually, Bush's answer on tribal sovereignty was pretty much SPOT ON, but Maher was such an asshole that he assumes Bush was saying something stupid-- since if Maher doesn't like you, that's pretty much how he's gonna play it... just like if he worships someone, like Obama, his tonge becomes their new BUTT-PLUG.

If it was the other way around, Maher would never shut up about Obama saying "57 states," and how Bush PERSONALLY killed Saddam Hussein "with a ninja-star."

    He's really that pathetic.

  • @SovereignStatesman are you an idiot? bush's answer was spot on? what clip were you watching?

  • @MsDDiddy

What was wrong with the answer? He said "Tribal sovereignty means just that: you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity."

    That's 100% CORRECT.

Of course Maher's audience will laugh at it, because it's full of 9/11 TRUTHERS who laugh at the notion that the WTC was brought down by hijacked planes rather than controlled explosives...

pretty ironic, though, that they think Bush is so stupid, but that he MASTERMINDED it.

Oh well, that's schizophrenia at work.

  • @SovereignStatesman he didnt answer the freaking question. they didnt ask for the definition. they asked what tribal sovereignty means IN THE 21ST CENTURY as opposed to past centuries. and you and i both know that that answer is so fucking half assed. "tribal sovereignty means just that: you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity." ooooooh you sure nailed that one bush. i'm so blown away by his intelligence. NOT!

  • @MsDDiddy

    >>"they didnt ask for the definition. they asked what tribal sovereignty means IN THE 21ST CENTURY as opposed to past centuries."

You must be watching a different clip. Maher quotes the question as follows:

"What do you think tribal sovereigny means in the 21st century, and how do we resolve conflicts between tribes and the federal government?"

So neither you OR Maher have any room to talk on the subject of stupidity-- more like projection.

  • It's not education, it's rational ignorance and apathy. People feel more and more powerless in their world as government-influence expands, and so they dissociate from their enviornment rather than learn about all the ways that they're basically slaves to the empire.

There are no stupid people-- only UNHAPPY people.

But Snidely Maher doesn't like to think, just TALK about his supposed superior nitellect he's got a degree in ENGLISH, you know!) and so of course he says make them MORE powerless!

  • Maher: "Government education failed... so we need MORE government education!"

Um... yeah, Bill? Hillary's child day-care village called... they want their idiot back.

  • Bill sure does brag a lot about education, for someone with so litle OF it.

That's because education is the first tool of what's actually COERCION for a socialist slave-state. That's why we have compulsory public-school attendance laws, rather than simple parental-obligations to provide basic PRIVATE education.

And by "education," he means SUPPRESSIVE INDOCTRINATION.

  • amazing how one can speak for several minutes and say nothing meaningfull at the same time...

  • @Corristo89

Amazing how he can be such a stuck-up pathetic droning BORE.

  • This video has the best thumbnail preview pic of any YouTube vid in history.

  • People are REALLY that stupid? Tell me you didn't listen to that airhead and facepalm.

  • :(

  • lol apparently the top comment doesn't know of other countries in Asia. It's a big place.

  • @shaan5262 I think Bush was clumsy getting the words out, and took a while to make a very simple point: which is to say that tribal sovereignty should be respected: but that is a valid answer.

  • @shaan5262 Really... He did? Lmao. When?

  • i love mike gravel

  • ignorance is bliss. slavery is freedom. war is peace. orwell really was onto something

  • U.S military spending in 2010: 685.1 billion dollars

U.S Department of Education spending in 2010: 51 billion dollars

    Enough said.

  • @Keysteeze nasa gets about 100 million, even tho we can find unlimited resources... one of saturns moons has oceans of liquid natural gas... but lets ruin our own planet and spend money on war lol, too many idiots in control

  • @Keysteeze Well according to the constitution the US is allowed to spend money on a military and isn't allowed to spend on education, education is a state issue. But liberal supporters the system of federal spending that violates the constitution because they don't know how to read or know history. Also, education starts with parents. You can put an infinite amount of money in it but if the student and parents don't care then we will still see the same results.

  • I am well aware that the MAIN cause of our educational failures is actually our cultural attitude toward education. We live in a society that seems to glorify non-sense, and stigmatize matters of the intellect. Parents should take an active role in their children's lives, especially with regard to education. You are 100% correct. I do believe that we should revaluate education as a national issue. Educational success is not all about money, however a lot more could be done with money.

  • @Keysteeze I do agree that we do spend a little to much on defense, but we are a well populated country so defense is a big issue. As far as education, it is a societal thing. South Korea doesn't have great public schools to be honest, their society though looks highly on educaiton so they privately send their kids to after school programs. So many do it that it is the social norm which explains the high test scores....

  • @Keysteeze ....With that said, having a highly educated society does have its drawbacks. In South Korea PhD people don't get paid as well compare to people with PhDs in the US because so many people in S. Korea are educated. So really, having a society that isn't that educated can be benifitial. I am not saying we should raise a nation idiots, but sometimes allowing some people to fend for themselves is good and if they don't care then whatever, the ones that do can rise to the top.

  • @whyamimrpink78 Of course your accurate observations give nothing to justifying our soulless military spending. There are many other issues aside from education that need to be (financially) addressed as well. A 685.1 billion dollar "defense" budget is unacceptable.

  • @whyamimrpink78 Okay this is too much. In a post denouncing liberals as people who "don't know how to read or know history" you fail utterly and repeatedly to construct a proper English sentence.

  • @amatuerarabist Yes, I admit, I am a poor writer. English isn't my best subject. But I have two science degrees(I am a science and math guy), I read quite a bit and know history. I am educated enough and experienced enough to know the full story if issues. LIberals are very close minded, they spend more time blaming others instead of looking at the real problem.

  • @whyamimrpink78 You're entitled to your opinion sir, just try to deliver it more cogently in the future. Cheers.

  • @whyamimrpink78 Reality has a documented liberal bias. We should just ignore it and look at the real problem.

  • @whyamimrpink78

Liberals are mainly focused on getting power away from the Repubilcan regime established during Lincoln's war of the coup against the states, where he turned them against each other to form a totalitiarian empire.

However they don't want to return power to the people, they want to USURP it to themselves since they believe in benevolent dictatorship, and think they are wise and able philosopher-kings.. and even though SOLOMON HIMSELF couldn't pull it off, they think THEY can!

  • like Carlin once greatly put it, "No one is ever taught to question anything anymore, the govt. wants obedient workers", a healthy, confident, free-thinking country is harder to govern, thi is truth

  • I VOTED MIKE GRAVEL!!!!

  • Wow.

  • She is a 17 year who is rambling- doesn't have much to do with education at all.

  • WHAT IN GOD NAME IS SHE TALKING ABOUT?!

  • Only in America, when you run for beauty queen, intellects count, but when you run for president, it doesn't!

  • I don't understand...where did South Africa come from?

  • @adi87tya Is there anywhere farther away from the USA than S Africa?? Even Easter Island is closer, (happy upcoming Easter everone, by the way..)

  • If the problems with our education continue, you can bet that I won't let my kids anywhere NEAR a public school. I'm no teacher, but I'm pretty sure I could teach my children better than how children are being taught right now.

  • @gamefreak391 Before I start, I should introduce myself to you as a medical student. Now with regards to the public vs. private school debate, I believe that a child is only as good as long as his/her parents get involved with their education. By which I mean, encourage more hands-on or educational activities while they're young. My parents would often take me to the public library when I was much younger and I'm an avid reader of both contemporary and classic lit (and medical texts of course)

  • imo the education system in America and I guess UK is more designed to create working and cosuming drones more than anything.

  • Well she is from South Carolina. Aren't their schools ranked 49th in the nation?

  • holy, she's right, we need more maps.

  • Well she's right, most people in the U.S do not own maps. Any many of our schools don't even have them either, sad.

  • The UK is the same, the school systems are shit. I have a daughter who's at school and when she comes home i ask what she learnt today and the answer is usually something pointless like how to mix paint to make a different colour. Good job i got a load of books for her to read and find out about the real world and not just the world of tv.

  • LMAO!

  • Why are people laughing? She seems like a normal american to me.

  • still funny,lol

  • Why do we take such pageants seriously? What is the point?

  • Ive notice even alot of people that are educated, are not very intelligent .

  • @MegaMailbox

    Educated to "their" standards.

  • LMAO i love G. Bush! He's so funny, i can see in his eyes what he's thinking when he said that "nailed it!".

  • Wow. . . When I was in school, 1st grade students were smarter than that. . .

    Some people don't have maps?

I don't have a map, but I know there the US is. . . and France, too!

  • Hey, don't knock it, Sarah Palin's doing well and she's a dressed up chimp. Bush got two terms in the Whitehouse and I'm not convinced he wasn't controlled by Rush Limbaugh marionette-style.

  • This girl and Sarah Palin should be running mates, THAT would make one hell of a ticket!!

  • Oh come on, anybody in her position would get a foot in the mouth (admittedly, it was a bigger foot than most)...

  • She thinks the US can help ASIAN countries in education???

  • @calvinhobbesliker2

I think even SHE would know enough to come in out of a Tsunami.

  • I like how JT Slater was trying to hold it in

  • @cepdv1 Its AC Slater, but yeah that was fucking funnny

  • "Tribal sovereignty means that it's sovereign."

You tell them George! xD xD

  • Well, most people know that hot broads most often are NOT the brightest....

  • "Professor numbnuts" LMAO

  • Wow--she sounds like Sarah Palin. Maybe she'll be a candidate for President some day--she has a lot in common with Palin.

  • @Wilber7

We all have idiots of her caliber everywhere.

And we've all been very stupid sometimes (Like me when I picked my youtube nick, for instance.)

But we try not to show them on TV.

Also, there's the glee factor. ;)

  • map shortage lol

  • I does sound to me that rather than answering the question honestly, she was attempting to splice together memorized statements. She would have been a lot better off if she had just answered the question off the top of her head.

  • Then again she was in front of several thousand people....

  • @majesticlizard, trust me we have beauty contests here too and it is pretty funny when they are asked about something...

"What is H1N1" > "an atom bomb?"

  • Anyway, I think the woman just had stage fright and actually has an intellect typical of a young adult.

  • Her statement wasn't dumb at all. It was just executed with such dyslexic precision that no one understood her.

  • Additionally, it sounded to me like she was suggesting that the United States should try to level the playing field, academically, by assisting in the education of children from the most unstable areas of the world, such as Iraq and South Africa.

  • @majesticlizard

Are you saying that Iraq and South Africa are the most unstable areas in the world?

    What have you been drinking?

Btw, Iraq is in the Asian continent. Yes, Asia is a continent. It's not a country.

Just like Europe is a continent with 50 different countries.

And, sweety, we don't need your help, especially when it comes to education. Our education system is 100 times better and stronger than yours.

You should be more worried about the ignorance of your nation.

  • @mjlodina: You sound like a very angry and hostile person with serious emotional problems and very low self-esteem. You also sound extremely immature.

I didn't say Asia was a country. I'm glad you were able to remember from the first grade that Iraq is actually in Asia. However, in common parlance (among adults), the middle east is separated from the rest of Asia due to the vast political and religious differences between it and the other countries that comprise Asia.

  • @mjlodiina: I did not say that Iraq and South Africa were the 'most' unstable areas in the world.

However, many governments in South Africa, such as Nigeria, are extremely corrupt and unstable. it is not uncommon for citizens of the poorest areas to be unable to read, despite the vast natural resources. You ought to visit Lagos if you do not believe that.

It is common knowledge that Iraq is in a state of dangerous political upheaval. Only a fool would argue against that.

  • @majesticlizard

Thank you for your evaluation of my personality. I don't know how I would keep on living without knowing that.

Many governments in South Africa such as Nigeria? Nigeria is not in South Africa, it's in West Africa. Don't worry, you will learn. :)

Governments, and politics in general, are corrupted everywhere. You can't generalize things.

Yes, the situation in Iraq is pretty unstable right now because, umm, the U.S. is bombing it for no reason what so ever...?

  • @majesticlizard

That still doesn't change the fact that the education in the Arab world is much stronger and strict than the education in the U.S.

I even think that the schools in the Arab countries are a little bit stronger than the schools in Europe. Yes, I can say this with confidence because I lived everywhere, including the U.S. :) American education system is ridiculous.

You see, the people in Asia and Europe actually do know how to use a map.

  • @mjlodina: When a wise man points to the moon an idiot points to the finger.

No one cares how much you hate the United States or how bad you think our educational system is.

At least more than 80 percent of the men in my country can actually read. They can't in yours.

I already knew where Nigeria was. My father used to live there. It is 1 am here and I'm falling asleep.

Take it easy and have a great day.

  • @majesticlizard

Really? 80% of people in your country can read? I'm impressed!

Hmm, are you sure that people in my country can't read? You want to try that again? You see, according to the latest scientific surveys, the literacy rate of my country is 98.3%. Plus, we have two official alphabets: cyrillic and latin, which is very rare. Also, majority of people speak at least three languages. :)

If you knew where Nigeria is, you would never have said that it is in South Africa.

  • @majesticlizard

Btw, if you don't care about my opinion, then why do you keep replying to me?

It makes you angry? Anger is not good. It increases your heart rate and blood pressure. So, take it easy there, ok? :)

I do not hate America. I hate human stupidity and ignorance.

Well, you would be a perfect example of that. :)

Lol, why are you informing me about your personal life and the time zone? I don't really care what time it is in your country, where ever that may be...

  • I'm responding because I don't often get to talk to a person from a different culture. You haven't made anyone angry. As you can tell from my posts I have not insulted you or your culture, nor really shown any animosity to you at all.

Adversely, you have called the educational system of my country ridiculous and stated that I am an example of stupidity and ignorance. The United States has a 99 percent literacy rate. That is a fact you can look up.

    This conversation is over.

  • That was @mjlodina.

  • @majesticlizard

Who says that the conversation is over? You? Please, don't make me laugh.

Do you have amnesia? In your first comment you said, I quote, ''You sound like a very angry and hostile person with serious emotional problems and very low self-esteem. You also sound extremely immature.''

Hmm, apparently you are the one with mental issues.

American educational system is horrible and I stand by that fact.

And you, sir, can keep living in ignorance.

    Now the conversation is over.

  • @majesticlizard congrates you literacy rate is right up there with every other country that can count to ten just because they can read does not mean they do. the us has a horrible education system look at who comes out of it bush went to yale and Harvard most of your country cant find France on a map. and not to mention the amount of people who know nothing about how there country is run or how the rest of the world works. they can read they just never do.

  • It sounded to me like she was trying to say that if the students in the United States communicated more with students in South Africa, Asia, and Iraq, they would have a better understanding of position of the United States in the world both geographically and politically. However, she was so terrified she omitted several critical words.

  • A 17 year old girl succumbed to stage fright in front of over a thousand people on a nationally televised event. Very few people are honest about that.

It is unfair to compare her to a crooked politician who is a former drug addict and draft dodger.

  • GW's stupidity is nothing to complain about, the sad part is, he got voted by the majority into the White House

  • as a amreican 17 who gose to high school i say that amreican educatoion dose SUCK!! just look at my spelling erros

  • take that no child left behind act

  • damn, she should go into politics

  • I wonder how US could reelect Bush. I mean, the 2000 elections were very, very, extremely suspicious. Then, he didn't do a very competent job in his first 4 years as the most powerful man in the world. So, really, why did the world need an Obama to change it? Wasn't it right at our very eyes that the republican government was fucking everything up?

  • OMG how could someone be so dumb...just say that people are not focussed on education they r being ignorant and we should encourage more and more people to learn and excel and build a great future, sorry to say but its asia rising...american dream is getting over due to rednecks...Bush for one

  • Girl was definitely dumb, but seriously, how does someone answer that map question?

It's tough because you're being asked in a setting where you have to give a nice, tactful answer to the question, "Why are American children so stupid?"

    Good luck pulling that off.

  • Easy, just say "The education system has failed them." Done.

  • YES

  • She sounds like Sarah Palin.

  • the Iraq!

  • It was painful to hear her say that, so seriously painful!!!!!

  • good ol' US americans

  • HAHAHAHA PROFESSOR NUMBNUT!!! HAHAHA!!!! holy fuck that was good.

  • Bush for Miss Universe 09!

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT A DUMB FUCKING BITCH!!!

  • If I were Bush during that question I would say: "I'm sorry but I have no knowledge about this, if this is serious I will immediately get acquainted with it." No man knows everything, and admitting to it is a wise thing to do.

  • They should ask her questions on fashion or something like that, she might do better :)

  • Hey my cousin is pretty smart she's at duke university medical school, good SAT's good GPA, but one day we were joking around with family and someone made the comment that one of us look like Fidel Castro in drag, we all broke out laughing, my cousin then whispered in my ear "who is fidel castro?" LOL, she technically is the smart one in the family, and will soon be a doctor.

  • ah, theres nuthing better than laughing at other ppl's stupidity

  • they did have someone like her run in 08, her name was Palin

  • Haha, Mario Lopez probably hit that. Did anyone else see him laughing at her?

  • Funny, is she related to Sarah Palin?

  • I think she looked very nervous.

  • Why should we help other countries when we have 17 year olds who cant even form a freakin sentence on stage? I have stage fright but even i could do it HAHAHAH

  • that's not America's fault. it's her fault. she's a complete idiot. i know stage fright is sometimes a factor but she's in a national beauty contest and that answer, well God!...

  • Yeah, I agree.

If she's competing at the national level, she should have enough experience to handle stage fright. She bungled the answer because she didn't know what the hell she was talking about. :p

  • AHAHAHAHAHA That girl talked sooo stupid! Americans dont all have maps but we all go to school or at least have. Are you smarter than a 5th grader? I sure know i am. XD

  • Bill, come on. You know as well as we do that this 17 year-old was terrified with stage fright (as you once were yourself when young), and couldn't think, but had to give an answer. That's happened to everyone put on the spot onstage at one point. She gave a much more cogent answer later, and explained she'd been too scared to think. She was 17; be kind, and give a kid a break for god's sake...

  • thats true, but as someone who is in the beauty pagent circut she should be able to answer a question on the stage like that. She was also given another opportunity to answer the question again the next day and didnt do much better. i do feel bad for her though.

  • OMG, that was fucking hilarious...

  • I'll be the 1st to admit, I didn't know what is "tribal sovereignty". However, I can still call Bush a moron because it's his duty to already comprehend that & prepare an answer.

  • "I'll be the 1st to admit, I didn't know what is 'tribal sovereignty'."

Oh it's just the whole thing of indian tribes governing themselves. Nothing very tricky and I'm amazed Bush couldn't figure it out by the wording.

  • The worst part about the miss SC incident? She was interviewed on TV a few days later, because she wanted to prove she could answer the question... and her new reply was actually DUMBER than this one.

  • "The Iraq"?

  • Our education system is designed to build us into freaking dollar commodities, not truly educate us.

  • This poor girl was terrified with stage fright; I've had it myself. Your brain shuts off. She explained that in an interview, and then gave a rational answer to the same question. So, it's easy to pick on a young girl. Let's see how you would feel if you froze and were mercilessly attacked endlessly, as a video of you was played over and over again......

  • well im sure she had stage fright but i dont think that discounts her from being dumb...lol

  • i think that she was terified with stage fright however the point is this is a reflection of education in america . Most students just do what they do to just get by in american schools and they are encouraged to do so by teachers who are for the most part disinterested in what they are teaching and those who are interested cant be too innovative because of the regulations.

So what you end up having is a ignorant lot who couldnt care less .

  • I somewhat agree, but...

she should have said, i can't think straight, or atleast tried to answer the question.

Not spew some crap about america helping the poorer countries.

its like they have an inbuilt responder "if words detected america and help.. then do: "america is giving uhh... some-ah-... charity... to them, so they can build up thier future, for uhhh children"

  • Not knowing the question/having the coherent answer to it and just plain stage fright has a distinctive difference...

She clearly didn't know what's going on.

  • Oh bless. Dont be hard on her people. I was shocked at a young man who worked for me, he wrote me a note. He cant write, he is 21. In England. The first time I watched that clip I laughed, when she got to the bit about people not having maps. I thought wow, witty answer. oops. If she had stopped their in could've been a great answer. Cut her loads of slack people.

  • dumb but holy shit she is hot

  • Bravo to Mario Lopez for not completely beating Miss SC. over the head with his microphone. He doesn't even flinch. It's so sad on both counts. Sovereign stupidity.
