NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.

YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.

The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.

...but my biggest problem with the eu is that it's unelected people who make the laws. i don't want those people to decide over our destiny. all that our elected parlament does is saying "yes" to what they compile. they didn't even read the lisbon treaty, because it is unreadable! 3.000 pages referring to 3000 other documents... the eu is nothing but a fake democracy.

3rd: i'm fine with the german "constitution" (grundgesetz) so i don't want another constitution which overrules ours.

ireland is the best example: they give only one (!!!) country the opportunity to decide with a referendum if they want lisbon treaty or not... what about the others?

and now when ireland said "no" they just let them vote again and hope they'll get make the decision they want.

if they'll say "no" again they will simply be kicked out and the lisbon treaty will come into force illegaly (without referendum).... well maybe they'll ask a pro eu country this time xD

I'm sure the german constitution is ok but I think it is about common extern policy and defence policy.Look at Russia, it is a poor country with a large army and modern weapons, nobody have balls to argue to Russia, because everybody know they are full of weapons.They treath and blackmail europeans country with their natural resources or other things.

Exactly right NLoog, the Dutch and the French already voted against this Treaty. Sarko's conservative cabinet are saying Ireland has no choice, we have every choice. Everybody in Europe is entitled to a say on how Europe should be organised, developed and run. The constitution doesn't allow for this in 26 out 27 states, it does in ours, and that's why I'm proud to be deciding my country's role in Europe.
