Magnussen pwnd himself, he bumped Bergmeister and Bergmeister defended his positio nand Magnussen was turning right, so Bergmeister braked and Magnussen crashed! :D
great battle but that was some BULLSH!T driving on the last straight by the porsche driver, if youre gonna lose, lose with dignity, not almost put some one into the wall and then spin them out to barely scratch off a win. id much rather lose to a better driver than knock him out of the race. geez
@crazymonkey8888 You're spot on dude! GTRdude777, you're just another tool with an asshole and an opinion, that is very much wrong. Bergmeister did a great job of making the 911 wide and the shitbox 'Vette took a chance on a low-probability pass and paid the price. Yes, I've raced on Seca more times than you've wiped your ass, and can say with certainty that the Lizards made the right move. Smallest motor in the class & are seaon champions -go figure!
@catelove3 I was talking about 2011 JACKASS! how did the Porsche team do THIS YEAR JACKASS! how do you spell considering JACKASS! just in case you were wondering, they finished third JACKASS!
@gtrdude777 Hey here's an idea, instead of getting all worked up in an agrument with a 16 year old girl (who's right by the way....) why don't you just go back to jacking off you fucktard.
I've driven in two 24 hour events at Mazda Raceway. the Porsche had no right to do what he did. all the play goes to the right on the strait to the finish. it is not legal to push someone to the wall and break when he is correcting. the officials looked the other way.
@gtrdude777 No, that's incorrect, the Flying Lizard car is allowed one move across to defend his position, which he took turning across the track to block. Magnussen (?) was turning right into the Porsche at the end of the move so he effectively pitted himself, because he turned across the front of the Porsche. Thats why its not Bergmeister's (?) fault, at that point, he was holding track position, and driving in a straight line, Magnussen applied counter steering for too long after he got ahead
@crazymonkey8888 you are wrong, spoken like a spectator and not a driver. he didn't hold position, he drove him into the wall. the counter steer was too long but he was trying to get the car off the wall. I don't blame him completely because of the bump into the final turn. But what he did is punishable and that type of driving will get you the reputation he has and deserves.
@gtrdude777 While I agree that 45 is not entirely clear of blame, he possibly took the move a little too far, and maybe should have yielded earlier, but if the Corvette had not been steering into the Porsche so strongly, the accident may have been prevented
@gtrdude777 the bump was his fault too, you can clearly see that jan (corvette) flashed the brake lights as they made contact, and he gained 1/2 a car length in a split second in 1 corner, the Vette doesn't handle that much better than the Porsche...Jorg was trying to brake check him to prevent him from getting a run, but his plan backfired.
@crazymonkey8888 watch closely at last sec, the 911 gt2 braked, that's why the vette crushed into the wall. kinda an ass hole move, but he got into a very similar situation last time when he tried to race the ferrari and lost, so he learned his lesson. lol
@moridin1000 1992 Pro-Am invitational 24 hours at Mazda Raceway in a 1992 Porsche GTC / 1993 (the last year it ran) Pro-Am invitational 24 hours at Mazda Raceway in a 1992 Porsche GTC
I ran in the same events at Atlanta and Road America. do you need a list of other races?
im not a fan of porsches, and i like corvettes, but honestly, PRICE YOU PAY FOR THE GAMES YOU PLAY.
blocking is blocking, shoving is shoving, dirty is dirty, even if you push your shit across the finish line first first you still win, whatever does it even if its all three cause racing is racing
lol, a lot of you have no clue and clearly dont watch racing... Magnussen had no right to bump him final corner of the final lap. If he didnt bump him, he wouldnt have been able to pass him, but he loosened his traction up, and was able to get next to him. Bergmeister was justified in what he did, Magnussen was the dirty racer...
@Markogavric bergmeister brake checked him. telemetry shows that magnussen was on the brakes PAST the apex at the point they made contact (in this vid you can clearly see his brake lights are on mid corner). As well Bergmeister was going over 5mph slower through that turn than normal, he was brake checking in attempt to prevent magnussen from getting a run on him down the straight.
You all say that the Porsche driver is an ass, but if you'd be in his place, you would have dome the same. What, would you let him pass on the last moment and win the race after so any hours of racing? I don't think so.
@XcopeS I wouldn't have exited the corner as wide as Bergmeister did, besides you don't wreck your competitors that close to the finish. It only gives the mechanics more work that they don't need.
Bergmeister just did what Melo did to him at Sebring and got away unpunished. Nothing to complain, it was just that Magnussen should have backed of like Bergmeister did at Sebring
the porsche driver is a f** idiot. thats not fair racing !!! ok, the bump from magnussen isn't ok too, but its not the same what bergmeister done on the straight !!
first of all if u have never seen the whole race then u cant talk bad about berg. watch the whole thing and see how much shit the vett did just to get the lead they even cheated
@frankdatank88 like what? They made a pass through pit exit because the Porsche was blocking the whole time... but they ended up having to give that spot back. I saw no cheating.
@pietruski porsche wasn't an assshole at all. it's actually the other way around. corvette almost took porsche out in the last corner. Porsche simply but corvette in a vulnerable postion after the cheap corner and corvette made the choice to go for it.
@rustlerboi1052 no, you can clearly see the corvette was on the brakes at the time they made contact. The porsche went extra slow (brake check) in the turn to prevent the corvette from getting a run on him.
the telemetry proved this too, corvette doesnt handle that much better than the porsche, the porsche was going 5-10mph slower than usual through the last turn.
that's ridiculous man. show me the telemetry that you got those facts from. Corvette and flying lizard racing don't give out telemetry. everything you just said is based off of no facts.
@rustlerboi1052 ALMS had telemetry to REVIEW the incident. You also don't need proprietary telemetry to know how fast it was going through the turn. The teams do not need to give that information out.
Also can you not clearly see in this video that the Corvette's brake lights go on in the middle of the apex just before they made contact. What other explanation do you have for the speed difference between the 2, the Corvette wasn't dive bombing otherwise he would have had understeer.
@rustlerboi10521:16 you can see the Vettes brake lights go OUT after they made contact. The Vette also miraculously gained half a car length in the middle of the apex, the Vette doesn't handle that much better, the only explanation is that the Porsche was brake checking/running slow to prevent the Vette from getting a run off the turn.
I don't really understand your argument. sure, alms has access to the telemetry but they didn't release anything publicly, so you can't make those statements. the vette may have had it's brake lights on, yet you still don't know how much he was actually braking. corvette gave porsche a shunt in the last corner to loosen up the rear end and that is not fair. End. corvette got what it deserved. also you are saying a whole lot without really knowing the facts.
@rustlerboi1052 why would the vette brake if he was bumping the porsche? Why was the porsche going so much slower through that turn than every other lap..The Vette doesnt have that much more corner speed, the only explanation is the porsche was going slower than usual.
If the vette was going to 'shunt' he would have had to divebomb to make up for the distance between the two..you can clearly see at 1:15 the Vette very quickly makes up half a car length AFTER the braking zone/turn in point
you are completely not thinking of this right. It doesn't matter how much slower porsche was going through the corner. it's the last turn at laguna seca, not a turn made for passing. if porsche really did go slower why wouldn't vette just go around instead of shunting? i'm sorry. you keep saying the same over and over. your wrong. vette was bogus on this pass. go do some racing school you'll understand.
@rustlerboi1052 what? the last turn and turn 1 are like the only places you can pass at Laguna Seca.
How do you go around a car when he slows mid apex and goes 5mph slower than normal during a turn in an attempt to brake check you, do you know anything about racing?
i think you just found the answer to your own question. "How do you go around a car when he slows mid apex and goes 5mph slower than normal during a turn in an attempt to brake check you, do you know anything about racing?"
you don't go around. you don't pass. that was the whole point. it's not a good place to pass if you have to shunt in order to do so.
