  • Loved Switzerland! The grocery stores were amazing for selections. It was a little like shopping in a Wal-Mart as far as finding the clothing, home goods, etc. in the grocery store. Those jeans were very cheap by Swiss standards. The Swiss Franc is basically the same as the US dollar, yet everything cost 2-3 times more in Switzerland. Can't wait to go back, its so beautiful.

  • i like this this is an amazing store, do you have a video for the other sections you couldn't film at that time

  • Oh she went to Coop. lol

  • Me and my children are gonna be moving here one day!! (the kids don't know yet....lmao)

  • 39.99 Francs is considered cheap pants !?!

  • where exactly in switzerland do you live?

    i've never seen a coop this big...only migro :)

  • are you still living there? i lived near zurich and i loved it.

  • @AgrimA74 you dumb effin retard think of cheese, chocolate, wine and Swiss army knives get out of living in that rock of yours you dumbtard

  • @laferilafere you dumb effin retard Switzerland is the capital in banking go back to living in your rock you dumbtard

  • You've "Spee" there? hah that's cool :D

  • @HelveticRaven Mainly because most American supermarkets don't carry as many all-hatural, Organic, and healthful options, they're getting better, but still not as good as Europe's options. My favourite is Whole Foods Market, it's probably the best in the US.

  • Videoing... :)

  • Thanks for your stealth vide I'm

  • Very Well Done - Shame they made you stop

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • STOP FILMING GO FILM KRAPS FROM YOUR COUNTRY FULL OF CHEMICALS AND YOU RE SURPRISE TOG ET SICKNESSES LATER

  • I remember Coop!! I went to Switzerland during my summer vacation, I miss it so much. American supermarkets are crap compared to the ones in Europe, particularly Switzerland, Germany, and Austria!!

  • @MacGuru15 ahahahaahah you 're so right .and she is filming to find some critics and she cannot find IN SWITZERLAND EVERYTHING IS PERFECT POINT BAR

  • @MacGuru15 Hi! Why are American supermarkets crap compared to the ones in Switzerland etc.?

  • @TheThirdShift Is it illegal to film or videotape in Switzerland

  • 16 to buy wine. ok i can get w/ that

  • SHE GOT YELLOW NAILS!!!!!

  • Was going thru your health videos and came across this. Wanted to say a big THANK YOU for doing this, esp when you get nothing outtav it. Getting kicked out is quite embarrassing but your video really helped, esp the part of how to weigh and tag the fruits. I get a tad confused whenever I hit the European supermarkets, esp with fruits and such. Thanks again! Lotsa love!

  • just stumbled upon your video. it was totally fun to watch to see a foreigners perspective of a Swiss supermarket :-) I'm originally from Switzerland but living in Tokyo for one year by now. aww kinda miss Switzerland right now :)

  • im glad to be american but seeing this makes me appreciate my european ancestry and appreciate what else is offered in the world.

  • we aren't beer drinkers? totally wrong! We drink beer. But we don't need many different kinds because most of the people of the same region drink the same brand of beer. But with wine it's different.

  • @FightforChristianity you forget that norway has fishery and oil, Switzerland has, well, NOTHING :)

  • @AgimA74 I love how you realized that Switzerland is poor

  • Knockoff redbull: Migros Red Bull.... .99 CHF...THE BEST!!!

  • @dangolf1890 you mean 95 cents, do ya?

  • @laferilafere yes...

  • Love it

  • I hae a question how much is your rent a month ?

just to have an idea and compare

    thanx :)

  • the lady is gorgeous in the video.

  • nothing strange there, theres a store like that here in dallas/ fort worth called central market...high end products, lots of wine, great bakery and deli, plus you bag and tag your produce exactly the same way...makes that swiss store look like a dumpy walmart to be honest, haha.

  • @ARNTORXWINDIRX1184 Texas and Switzerland are similar and different. They are both giants in their own way. Think about the influence of the Swiss, think about the respect they are granted, world-wide? Texas is granted respect for different reasons Most of those reasons came about by accident. Swiss made their state. Texans made theirs. Texas is wide open. Switzerland is walled. Both saw good reasons to arm themselves and still do! And both places/peoples LOVE capitalism.

    Peace!

  • @StopTheCrusadors yeah I'm swiss. I hate capitalism and I'm not the only one.

  • cool walmart

  • Look how clean and organized it is. Too bad we can't get that done in the US due to the quality of people.

  • how long have you been living in switzerland?

  • Norway and Sweden is richer and is the ideal vision for the world.

  • Thumbs up if you were expecting her to come across ammo and/or guns in this video.

  • Are you planning to work on a full length feature film ?

  • so they ask you to stop filming in a grocery store? Sounds like a bunch of socialist pricks who HEAVILY dictate what you can and can't do. But if it's a cultural custom then i understand. If it isn't well.......... you know what i mean.

  • where is that coop? I've never been to one that big.

  • @funsicle21 must be an old Carrefour store.

  • Oh no, you went on the wrong side of the röstigraben. I'm surprised those swiss germans know about electricity, let alone flat screens.

How does it feel to live in a hunter-gatherer society ?

  • Ahahaha talking to a wall of beer, I love it.

  • @riotofxmyown What ! You mean to say that YOU have never had a conversation with with your bottle? Not even once ?

  • IS THERE ALL WHITE PEOPLE THERE? IMIGHT WANT TO VISIT? I AM ALSO FOND OF PRETTY BLONDE HAIRED , BLUE EYED WOMAN AS WELL, HEHE LET ME KNOW,

  • She should have brought someone with her so it would be less awkward.

  • @tatlifelover Seems that you identified the problem. She is obviously in the boonies in Switzerland and has little to do and no friends. Maybe on a bingeing and purging thing.

  • I'm Swiss; I need lots of socks. LOTS

  • I loved the yogert isle and it makes me wish for one in the states ) ;

*sigh* the swiss have great taste in food.

  • @ 0:37 HOLY CRAP look at all of that merchandise on that shelf!

  • If Rebecca Black was alcoholic, she would have a meltdown in the store. lol

  • people looked at you weird because they thought you're a spy from MIGROS, the competitor supermarket chain!

  • @heirihunziker

  • @DeathMetal242 uuf englisch hesch ned chönne antworte oder?

    FAIL

  • @laferilafere

    kei luscht...

  • @heirihunziker Migros isn't a competitor.. They made a Cartel and own 70% of the market.

  • The Swiss are classy, they drink wine not beer

  • the yogurt section is crazy. I live in canada and the dairy industry is very limited, like for yogurts and stuff. Wish i could go to switzerland, not only for the yogurts hahaha but yeah...the place is soo gorgeous

  • i love your laugh

  • why did they ask you to stop filming its a nice store they should have been flattered you were filming next time you should wear a hidden video cam

  • wow! hearing your story reminds me alot of my own. i was born in germany, learned german before english also, and then moved to america when i was 1 or two years old. people tell me that i have somewhat of an acsent as well, even though i dont notice it. my mother is german, and a have family still living there too. i live in austin, texas now, but i do wish to go back for another visit soon. what was the reason for getting the dual citizenship? are there advantages? wish i had one too.

  • @bladerunner372 you should not wish that! there currently is no sovereign german state. the current german government (FRG) is nothing but an administration organisation over the old occupation zone. no constitution, no rule of law, no democracy, no freedom and they they know how to fool the population very good.

  • FOOD is expensive that is why in Switzerland you will not have a lot of Health problems connected to obesity.

  • Crazy Russians.

  • To me, one of the great things about visiting Switzerland (besides the beautiful views, nice people, and shopping) was that just about everyone there spoke some English. It really made my visit easy and enjoyable, and created even more respect in me for Swiss people and their education system. :)

  • aso sorry xD machsch es vid wied go shoppe gasch xD

  • @0oOSTFUOo0

weisch. es git lüt us anderne länder, wo doch TATSÄCHLECH wend wüsse wie de alltag i andere länder usxet, würklech, es git lüt wo sech wend wüsse aeigne! aso STFU (:

  • in the town of VALS is there a food store

  • i have never heard anyone talking something bad about switzerland! it's like the most neutral country in the world! does someone even hate switzerland?

  • i love your cheese!!

  • In the swiss Constitution, Article 234, section B, paragraph 6: "It's an essential right of the swiss citizen to have an adequate supply of socks and a variety that exceeds the amount of bacteria settled on a square inch of human skin."

  • I am from switzerland but wehr the hell did you find that huge coop?

  • :( :( Why didn't you went to the Migros? :D

    Where is this? Zurich?

  • :( Why didn't you went shopping in the Migros? :D

  • Living in the US I've been in some HUGE supermarkets/co-ops, but never have I seen selections of wine and yogurt on that scale. I have seen a larger selection of cheeses though, but still, Switzerland looks like my kind of place!

  • Every day new Fortune Cookie plus Happy Numbers, you will not be dissapointed :D

    Send sms for Fortune Cookie:

Switzerland send--> TAP COOKIE to 911 price is 1CHF

  • Thanks for the great tour! When I was in Switzerland I did almost all of my food and beverage shopping at Co Ops, though none were as big as this one. Your video tour brought back some nice memories!

  • @maltydragon

no offense, but i realised that most american (at least i suppose them to be american (: ) comments spell it Co Ops or co-ops instead of Coop.

is it because of 'cooperation' or am i missing out?

  • @sarapocorn

Hi. Co-Op is a short for "Cooperative" which is a type of business model that some companies use, and I assumed this was the case for this company, thus it's name. Since "coop" can have an entirely different pronunciation and meaning, I just thought (and perhaps others did, too) that spelling it with a space or hyphen would help to distinguish it a bit better. :)

  • @maltydragon

i've done a little research and i think you're right. seems like the name's really deduced from cooperative but they write it that way to simplify the pronounciation for us :) thank you!

  • 8 in the morning! you are courageous! I prefer sleeping ;-)

  • Wow, I live in Michigan && everything there just seems soo much nicer and not cheap looking, lol. (Now it seems like all these American brands are cheap) Plus it seems like you have so much more variety on stuff.

  • bah, i live in finland and the foodprices are soaring... they even lowered taxes on the products but they still climb :D

  • I would love to move to Switzerland. Especially the Italian or the French cantons. BTW, American grocery shops sell wine too.

  • there's a reason why switzerland is so expensive. it's one of the best countries in the world.

  • @flyingpowerlogitech

yes, it is one of the best countries. And it keeps the riff-raff out!

  • @flyingpowerlogitech

Its expensive because its actually one of the richest countries in the world with the lowest crime rate too. :) Google is friendly.

  • that is the biggest co op i've seen, where is it?

  • I love your post and it's great to fly back home in watching your video. I leave in Australia now, and it's really heart warming... thank you!

  • Comment removed

  • Have you ever been to north America?? do you want to see anything we have over here if not lol!! i think its so interesting to see different things from different places so if you want to see something just ask :)

  • ...and I thought America had variety.

  • They get to where they can offer you everything you need under 1 roof, and by doing so and opening up more and more of these,.. they eventually make to where the small grocery store, and the small clothing store and the small fabric shop and the small pharmacy and the small garden center can't compete with prices and they all go under.. So they hook you in with prices and the convienence of everything at one place.. while 8 family ran stores go broke per 1 big mega market.. RESIST

  • If I lived in Switzerland ( I wish I did), I would boycott these places ASAP.. this is the same thing they do in America. You have a card, with your info on it. They are tracking you,.. what you buy, where you go, ect.. You seem to be one of the very few countries left that haven't been corporatlely taken over... this right here, is part of a control grid that has NOTHING good to offer. Keep everything you can small, honest and good for the people. That looks like the start of a Wal-Mart

  • @umustwantme the card thingy is pretty common, with it come some cheap price reductions but then again they know exactly where you shop, what you buy and so on...

  • What percent of the Swiss people speak English?

  • @Viktir666 0 ! unless they learned it at school, but no swiss citizen speak english natively. it's either german, italian, french or rumantsch.

  • @royalsunday2007 We learn english in school. Not as much as french or italian, but most people i know can speak better english than french!

  • @royalsunday2007 Yeah... I was wondering about what percent of them walking around would be able to speak English due to learning in school, audio tapes, aliens, or whatever else method they used to learn.

  • @Viktir666 no offense mate. the skill level is actually kinda low, so people speaking english fluently or at least understandable would be around 30 % maybe, just a guess though .. hope i could help you out. haven't seen aliens here for a while now..

  • @royalsunday2007 OK 30%, great. Thanks. Peace to you, and peace to all aliens.

  • Cool!!!

  • Coop is a great supermarket, good prices and excellent prices. I do not find ridiculous the supermarket diversity of products, as this american girls says. Obviously, all american is the best for them. Silly idiots. long live europe.

  • My left nut area hurtssSSS. DoessSSSS that mean i am ssSSSick? ssSSome people in ssSSwiterland think big balls are ssSSuper ssSSexy. SSsssSSSnif. All CheSSSSSeSSSSSSSSe. More cheSSSSSSSSSSSSe here.

  • coop isnt a grocery store, it has everything.

  • ed hardey

  • that has got to be the loudest grocery store ever. it sounds like shopping cart hell

  • i used to live in switzerland and this brings back memories! i LOVED grocery shopping! so much choice in cheese, yogurt and chocolate! maybe that's why i gained 20 pounds haha.

  • they have raw milk in switzerland

  • good job

but i didn`t see people inside !! even outside !!

    THANKS

  • thank you julia, for taking the time to share your day with us, and making the videos to show someone like me~a united states gal~what it is like in other parts of the world! my son and i have really enjoyed all of your videos!

  • I miss European supermarkets, I can't wait to move back!

  • I love it how you always film in places where you are not allowed to film :D

  • its so hard to believe that you can buy alcohol in europe at 16 years... and in america you have to wait til youre 21! not fair lol...im almost 21 though:)

  • @MoreThanJustSkinDeep I never understood that. If you're an adult at 18 why is the legal drinking age 21? That makes no sense.

I'm from Bermuda. You're an adult at 18 and so the legal drinking age is 18. The age to drive is also 18, though-unlike some places where you can be 16. I guess they figure they'd just give you all the benefits at 18 to keep things simple-I dunno...

  • @MomNeedsYou here in the united states, politicians think your more mature at 21,seems dumb but I live here

  • @TheMichael408 Oh, well...at least you're almost there! Just don't overdo it (sorry, that's the mom in me coming out!).

  • @MomNeedsYou well I really want to be like a casual drinker, someone that just enjoys a drink once in a while, i dont know if i could actually decide my fate in drinking but yea

  • @MomNeedsYou idk but in eroupe how ever you spell it the age is 16

  • @steelers3399 Yeah-in some it's 18 but a lot of places it's 16. In the U.K. you can drink at 16 but have to be 18 to actually purchase alcohol which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I guess they want to make sure an adult is aware you're drinking but that's still kind of silly...

  • @MomNeeds that is silly well then the parent could go to the store and get the beer for you when your 16

that would be better than being sixteen allowed to drink beer but not allowed to buy it haha

  • @steelers3399 LOL

  • @MomNeedsYou hahaha ikr

  • @MomNeedsYou Yeah it is so strange that it is so different in different countries..haha we should all agree on an age and stick with it

  • Great video.

  • I'm thinking about moving there from the USA with my family.

  • I live in Miami, Florida (USA) and we have wine, beer etc in our markets as well. I was shocked to find out this isnt the trend in other US cities. Btw, thanks for doing these posts. Im contemplating visiting Switzerland due to your vids :)

  • @malonso212004 i live in the bay area and we have wine, beer, and hard liquor at the Safeway up the street.

  • @MrJivePirate Oh wow! I actually went to San Francisco for my honeymoon :) I LOVE San Francisco--i would live there if I could afford it! Btw, my husband is from D.C. and they dont sell beer or wine, much less liquor, in their markets. While on my honeymoon i didnt visit any of the markets but i have been to markets in other cities and didnt see any alchol sold their either. Maybe its different for some metropolitan areas???

  • MY GOD THE SHELVES ARE EMPTY. SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE

  • @SWINGSWING66

And I can understand people from austria and switzerland and the netherlands and the flemish part of belgium. So what ?

  • @tausendstein I speak and understand about 8 Languages. So what? ;)

  • @SWINGSWING66

I wanted to express that You are an arrogant person...

  • @tausendstein No am not :). But to people like you.. for sure.

  • another tour

this was fun shopping with you

  • I've been noticing a dwindling variety of yogurts here in Wisconsin... I don't even remember what brand I used to like, I just know it isn't there anymore... it's mostly just Dannon and Yoplait now, with a few store-brand yogurts and a couple greek yogurts...

  • There shopping doesn't look different from what we have here in the states. You can go to a superwalart, supertarget, or Meijers (in MI) and see a store set up just like that. :)

  • @bc3000 You van buy it in the United States but in Canada where I'm from and where Misschievious is from you can't :)

  • GET.:'THE'':Apple IPad;''FREE``,

    watch?v=G-bRVskXNV8

  • I WONDER IF THEY HAVE BUBBLE PEANUT BUTTER YOGURT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MEAN THEY HAVE A LOT OF FLAVORS ITS CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Omg, i saw Coop in Venice, i didnt know it was pronounced as Co-op, i thought it was Coop. Like Cuup. But it was TINY!!! this one is huge!!

  • you said in switzerland you can buy alcohol in the supermarket, i thought that was normal.. can you not in america or something? its jst like what you showed in the UK

  • @bc3000

In some states in the US (Oregon is one and perhaps Washington) you can't buy alcohol in supermarkets

  • Are you originally North American? You have no accent when speaking English; I was wondering where you were originally from. :)

  • If you speak french would you be able to get my in Switzerland?

  • @pablosio94 are you speaking swiss german?

  • @pablosio94

  • are those prices euro or us?

  • @memeteora1 None, they are sold in Swiss francs... the Swiss franc is stronger than the dollar

  • OH! a great many cheese.

    I love cheese.

  • european walmart

  • I have a question that is out of topic; im going to be a senior next year, and i want to go to a university in Switzerland. But, I don't know German that well. Are there any universities that offer courses in English?
