@drustjotaw The first half of the video is Rome, the second half is tokyo. i assume you skipped to the end to make the end of the race. try skipping to about 2:00 to catch the last stretch of Rome
a moroccan enter the stadium first for the 1960 marathon but went the wrong way around the track once he stepped on it and bikila took off the right way counter-clock wise and won. he was in the position to lose. bikilas plan was to stay with the leader until then and turn on the jet once he hit the track so he might of won anyways even if the moroccan went the correct way. could of been a different history. i would of been pissed if i was the moroccan.

Very poor translation, e.g., they say Mexico'86 (Football World Cup) instead of Mexico'68 (Olympics).
Besides, this video has been chopped off to make it shorter, every few minutes there's or several gaps in the narration left by missing pieces.

The video is Bikila's marothon victory in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, not the 1960 Rome Olympics where he ran barefoot.

@drustjotaw
Both are in the video.

@drustjotaw This video is definitely him running barefoot in Rome. They have some highlights about tokyo at the end

@frankkalani dude, wtf? The 1960 Rome marathon didn't end in the stadium. No Morrocan ahead of Bikila at the end. Only Bikila.

The voiceover was IN Spanish. I'm not sure why I wrote my initial comment, though, because I speak Spanish.

Along with Paavo Nurmi, one of the Olympic Greats! A truly fantastic runner who had an unfortunate early end. God bless his soul!
