High vocals are not synonymous with great singers, and even though I normally truly appreciate patti, all I heard from the moment she entered stage was screeching.

@ramsdenrik I wouldn't be as nasty as to say sh~t on Alicia. What I would say is that when that old school dies we gonna have a hard time finding that kind of voice again. Now in this video I don't think Alicia gave Patti much to work against (in a healthy competitive way) She never raised the stakes. Maybe it wasn't her key. She should have chose the key & I'm sure patti would be able to pitch up to where she is. Plus Alicia is young (the meat hasn't marinated yet. Hopefuly she'll get there

I don' t think they should've matched those two together. I love them both, they some fierce singers but that was kind of unfair to put Alicia with Patti. Beyonce would have had a slightly better chance. Patti is just the original goddess of soul. Her voice is to be reckoned with.
