Here's a good strategy for Grenademan if you don't have the thunderclaw:

everytime he does two attacks he is going to rush across the screen good chance to hit him there by dropping a megaball and run into then pumping him full of buster shots.

Remain in the middle of the screen, when he shoots grenades you should avoid it easily...

then again I'll just post a video showing the strategy.

I think I can shed some light on your Playstation/Saturn MM8 issues.

Sega only wanted to sell a version of MM8 because they feared to competition of the Playstation. but they only agreed to do so if they were given additional exclusive content. This included a commemorative booklet of all the original boss masters from previous megaman games. I can also assume the things you mentioned were also included.

If i remember right, the reason the ps1 might have been gipped with content is due to a pseudo feud capcom had with sony. Which was that sony for the longest time refused to take mega man sequels unless capcom would put them in 3d.

This is by far my least favorite Mega Man game, and those jet board and rush jet sequences are a big reason why. Couple these annoying gimmick stages with control and level design that couldn't hold up to the NES games, and it's no wonder the series went in to hibernation for ten years after this.
