  • great!!

  • I tried this piece, haven't gotten very far because I haven't finished the beginning, but very fun to play and I like how it sounds!

  • im currently learning this song and i've been having difficulty with a couple of the notes.. but thanks to your video i got to see what you played and now i understand! beautiful job!

    xoxo

    chargemm822 :D

  • The story was that a little girl is doing her exercises and then in the middle starts to get tired and bored, and then her teacher hears her and says 'oi', essentially, and so she picks up speed again! :P That's what I was told anyway! And a piece is as hard as you make it, although it is fast, the trick is just learning it slowly and the notes arent actually that difficult!

  • @cutiejcm22 YES!!!!! I am working on it...very difficult technique, but the notes are so easy! It's terrible having to play so slowly when the notes are so easily played.

  • It's so hard technically, but note-wise and key-signature-wise it's not that hard....I still can't play it quickly enough for it to sound right.

  • i enjoyed it. such a pretty piece

  • everyone that says this is too fast, look up debussy playing the children's corner. he goes at least 10 clicks faster. so, yes, that is your opinion, but that does not make you right.

  • I think that its a little too fast because some of the beautiful nuances and touch are lost in the speed of the pianist.... I am learning this piece and when played slowly... it sounds so beautiful

  • pooched it

  • Hai imparato a suonare il piano al Luna Park?

  • another "satirical composition" ten years after "Doctor Gradus" :

Etude n°1 (Pour les cinq doigts) "d'après Monsieur Czerny" wrote Debussy

  • this boy is good (Y)

  • Got it down :)

    haha

  • It'ss "FF" at the end......and not the left hand only in the very last C's you play them with both hands

    but besides that

    I'M JEALOUS!!!

I WANNA PLAY THIS PIECE! lmao

    good job :D

  • I notice that this variation adds a lot of alternate/extra notes into the piece. Where would I find the sheet music for this (not the original, I have the full suite)?

  • this is the original.

  • You're right, I didn't realise that the differences were mistakes upon first viewing (around 0:44 and throughout the final section), my bad.

  • it sounds a bit dry.. maybe you should put a bit of pedal, not too much, just abit, to make it sound smoother... :) this is a very nice song

  • i don't know how this is supposed to be played, but i personally prefer it much slower so you can hear some of the beautiful stuff that goes on, rather than such a jumble. Good playing though!

  • It's supposed to be played at the tempo shown here, perhaps slightly faster in a few place. Before I learnt this I would agree, but the tune is largely monophony and you lose the emphasis on the lower notes without playing it at such a rate.

  • i dont think the pianist plays this well, it is so jumbled and not harmonious.

  • this is exquisite.

  • at 1:03 when he moves his hand down an octave and starts playing. i really hate how it sounds like there's a gap in there. i'm not saying that's bad. it's barely noticeable. i'm just saying that when i play this song that part always eats at me.

  • in the music it says you're supposed to cross over the right hand to continue that, instead of doing what he did.

  • I enjoyed it, even with the mistakes. Bonus points for great sound and camera angle!

  • its grade 9

and you cant say that he played 'too slow' on one part or 'oo fast' on another. the performer chooses on how he wishes too play it.

  • You can't say what "grade" it is. Debussy is an artist. It may be less technically difficult, but without touch it sounds horrible. Out of reach for the average 9th grader to play well.

  • hmmm there are some mistakes..

  • you made it look so easy and effortless

i'm learning this piece with great difficulty

  • It helps to know a little theory. Also, try to recognize patterns in the music. That makes it seem far less daunting. Then just grab that metronome and practice, practice, practice. When you can play it with ease you can be more expressive. I'm trying to learn Arabesque No. 1 right now. Just break the piece down some.

  • yea this piece is patterns patterns patterns. If you recognize them it's easy.

  • @sammiekrocks123 It's technically a demanding piece, but musical-wise it really isn't all that hard.

  • I like the sound of this! the way you play seems so effortless! im thinking of learning this piece.. how long did it take for you to learn this?

  • Although there was one or two mistakes, you played brilliantly!! Bravo!

  • gr8 performance. And pianoboexxx im assuming from tht reply tht someone has said this piece is grade 6 standard. I'm doing this piece for one of my grade 8 pieces. With trinity and guildhall. so i think its a little more advanced than grade 6, but still its a gr8 piece =D

  • i was always told it was a grade 6 piece... i'm glad to hear it's not. It's one of my favourite pieces to play :) love it

  • My fav part is 2:15- 2:24. =)

  • Haha! I love this song! It's so much fun to play on the piano, and it's so finger-friendly!

  • whaoo !

  • too slow in the middle part.... soz!

  • j'aimerai trop jouer ce morceau pfiou; j'attends de finir reveries, & c'est partie =)

  • Awesome!!!

  • i very much like the speed of the middle section. it wasn't too fast like most interpretations.

  • I played/learned this one, too, 7 years ago. Still like it. :-)

ps. maybe a bit too slow in the middle section, but very nice.

  • what grade?

  • around 6ths

  • grade 6?

  • i hate clementi's excercises:/

  • I like this one, too, and have put it in a playlist - Comedy. Think anyone beside a pianist will catch on?

    ;-)

  • Wow you play so smoothly!!! I so need to learn this it's really beautiful =P

    Is it really hard? ><

  • not with MUCH practice from slower to faster it can be done !

  • woo cool thanks, haha =D

  • thats quite a practice excercise :P lol

  • haha yeah I believe he meant it as more of a play on the practice exercises than a respectful take on it.

  • OMG... This is a revolution in harmony and you call it exercise? :|

  • it's not really an exercise, it was written to make fun of clementi's excercises
