  • I remember this add on Saturday morning cartoons. I couldn't wait till it snowed to make a ice hill. I would put staples in the tires talking about getting traction the staples would make the stompers climb any ice hill you could make. (poor kids today)

  • I had SO many of these as a kid... SO MUCH FUN! I actually found one I bought 13-14 years ago the other day. My 15 month old is a bit young right now, but I'll give it to him when he's a bit older.

  • Hell yeah WARLOCK!!! I think i had a Grand Wagoneer too at one point. Yeah not good for long hair lol!

  • Stopmers Ruled...

  • I would like to get some of these nowadays. Simple, but they really went over stuff. Perfect for little kids. Nowadays there's too much radio control crap. What ever happened to the simple fun of building obsticles in the sand and letting your stomper go?

  • @Defiants11 the defiants are great! i think the chassis is a little too bulky with the front tires barely in front of it>The casting for that little magnet hangs up easy> Great power i have the old stompers also and i think you guys are on to something> Whats the deal with remaking the original single speed stompers? Can they not be replicated due to old patents or something? or how about more authentic looking wheels and bodies for the dfiants in the near future! That will seal the deal haha

  • Stompers! Loved those little guys.

  • WEIRD sponge tires. They had an amphibious version at one point I think,

  • we used to glue 4 tires together for each wheel-maybe my favorite toy as a kid.

  • Rough riders, four by four, you can try to stop them!

  • @TheTallMan35 Yep. true dat. Remember lockup cars with key?

  • @DetroitIsland Don't remember that one. I remember the Rough Rider Tri-X with the gear shifter sticking out of the roof. They actually worked underwater.

  • I was addicted to my Stompers when I was a kid. My fried and I would build the ultimate "tracks from hell" in the sandbox in the backyard. Those little toys rocked!!

  • Brings back some EXTREMELY FOND memories for me!! My brother & I had numerous Stompers vehicles over the years as well as the Action-Track playset!! What GREAT times those were!!

  • haha used to put laundry detergent all over like snow, stomper time!

  • ...And 1 million Tattoo guns were born.

  • i remeber battling with these the loser loses his truck.i had a car that ran on a track"not a stomper"but looked like one.it was twice as strong .i won a ton of stompers with it.

  • i remember that the 1st set of tires bein either hard rubber or soft faom, they chasnged it from one to the other somewhere along the way,but i remember the hard rubber tires had a really good smell to them and we would smell them all ofthe time, the 1st generation stomper was built really well and the gears were hard to strip, but the 2nd gen was shit.

  • @christianbrockwell what used to piss me off sometimes is when you tried to get the rubber tires off you would crack or break the rims sometimes!lol

  • ooooh, the rubber tires smelled soo good... yeeaahhh nostalgia.

  • Loved those things back when I was a kid I remember at our school we had a stomper pull with suped up stomers lol it was great.

  • I had a stomper playset back in the day. Those were real toys right there.

  • OMFG! I had 4 of them back in the day including those amphibious ones with the big paddle rubber tyres. I also had the brown track with the bridge and the turnaround at the end. Daym this brings back memories.

  • My brothers and I used to have a bunch of these and the Rough Riders. I remember going to K mart with my friend from school, we had just bought new batteries and put them in the truck. My friends 2 older sisters were sitting in the front seat. Once they got a hold of the hair that was it!! we tried pulling em out, and they would wind right back up!!!! LMAO!!!

  • i gotta get the bronco and maybe dodge

  • I had the Bronco...went through like two packs of batteries a week...then my mom said I had an addiction and sent me to some meetings where I found 9.6v turbo RECHARGABLE BABY....been clean for years

  • ya theyd tangle youre hair all to fuk lol. i got the orange one in mine back then by accident.

these are expensive as hell now. wish i had all mine i used to have.

  • Yeah I got grounded as a kid for putting one in my sisters hair 25 years ago!LMAO

  • @notsoeezee dude me tooo that is funny..

  • @notsoeezee LMAO ME TOO!!!!

  • LOL, tangle your hair all to fuk!!! You're so right...and remember that smell they gave off? The rubber-tire-and-plastic-turning-mechanical-gears-with-some-type-of-internal-lubrication scent??

  • @ddcgreg thats funny as hell every time I get them out I smell them just remember the good ol days! Whats funny is it is probably toxic as hell!

  • i had the ford bronco with foam tires. tough good lil toys.

  • I used to have a bunch of these things, and I still have the Dodge Warlock unopened! I have a real version too. I have an '04 Dodge Ram 4x4 regular cab with the big STOMPER windshield decal, and true Stomper styled wheels! Like the toys, this truck can go anywhere!

  • Guys, I to long for my old Stompers. But yesterday I found a similar machine in Target made by Matchbox. The main difference is instead of the on switch on the bottom is that you press the top of the car to turn on and off. Also no lights :(

  • We even had a place where we could order, brass gears, extra bodys, custom wheels and tires.

Did anyone ever super glue two wheels and tires together ?

    We knew all the tricks.

They would never make these things again.

If they did, they wouldn't produce them like the originals. To many moving parts for some kid to choke on. LOL.

    \

Wish they would make them again though.

  • Me my older brother and our friends had a few. The fun thing is was letting them ride in water. Long live the 1980's

  • if you wanted to be fucked up you could always turn them on and drop them in the hair of that kid you hated

  • then he would have cried to his momma that the kids are fucking with him.

  • glad you got a sense of humor ...a lot of people take things very serious on you tube they just dont get jokes on here...now I would seriously never have done anything that cruel ...but my friend did pee on a yellow jelly bean and then he tried to give it to this other kid as a snack... luckily that kid knew something was up and politely told my friend to go fuck himself

  • kids could be real cruel back than. glad your friend knew something was up.

  • well that other kid who was chosen to eat the jelly bean was not really my friend..in fact I didnt like him at all ..thats why I didnt warn him that the jelly bean had been peed on.....he was smart enough not to eat it but I wouldnt have stopped him if he did....he was one of those rich kids that had all the cool toys but would never share...my friend was like robin hood but instead of stealing from the rich he like to pee on things...also he did steal some stuff from that rich kid...lol

  • I knew a mother fucker like that. I would have done the same thing. A real punk mofo. Never liked him then ,I bet I still dont like him now.

  • i want one so bad! my dad said he had one growin up and he oiled it and waterproofed it and they it into a pool and it drove under water, lol I WANT ONE

  • we use to modify these thing like you wouldn't believe. 9 Volt batterys with a hand help throttle.

We would have truck pulls at school with these things. Yep....I had the truck pull sled also. Damn , I wish I still had all of my stompers. Don't have a clue what happend to them. Girls came along and I lost interest.

  • same here.

  • what a great decade to grow up in the 80s rocked these kids today dont realize what we had back then iwanna go back to 1981

  • Yeah I hear ya man, the 80's is where so many things happened, MTV, HBO, the smurfs, punky brewster, webster, all the good horor flicks, nintendo, atari. It was awesome.

  • I remember letting my stomper roll over my hand like the kid in the commercial. These were fun to play with.

  • the question is, how many of you have kept in touch with those you have played stompers with!

  • chazcov08: they were INDOOR and OUTDOOR tires!

    made sense back then!

  • These would have been so cool as RC cars. They were still very fun. I'm pretty sure the ones I had in the 70's were a little smaller than these. They also had interchangeable tires. One set made of hard rubber/plastic, and the other set was more like a soft foam rubber.

    What fond memories!

  • I used to shred these in the crawfish ditches by my house;when I was eight i wired 2 aa batteries together and burned the motor up in a tight-looking f-150;those were the days;watching dukes of hazzard w/a happy meal and in between commercials, play with your stomper.

  • @dogrockit You just described my childhood. amen bro !!

  • @dogrockit You just described my childhood. amen bro !! I knew a guy that wired a tyco train controller up to a stomper, burned it up within a week, but it would run.

  • oh hell yea these were so fun to play with my favorite was the jeep camanche pick up. I have a newer one with a 1969 GTO judge body.

  • I got in SO much trouble with one of these. I turned it on and put it in my brother's hair. My mother came undone over that. 25 years later and she's still mad about that.

  • i used to have a bronco and a jeep pickup. then they fell about 20ft...:(

  • Wow, I forgot about Stompers. Now, I remember turning out the lights to see their headlights better.

  • I remember having one of these trucks, the kids used to bring them to school all the time to.

  • i had a chevy luv stomper

  • I had one of those also.....great fun!

  • When I was in 1st and 2nd grade Stompers were the SHIT! If you dind't have like 6 or 7 you were an outcast!

  • I wish I still had my old Stompers :( brings back memories.

  • These were the best toys ever, i had an American Kenworth Stomper, it was awsome!
