  • awesome gym

  • last attempt , when the weight has got the best of you , psychologicaly. and you dont even lift it off the platform

  • 1:15 and 1:36

  • LOL WTF @ 0:19

  • At what point during training should straps be used? And when straps are being used, should the hook grip continue to be implemented or is a regular grip fine?

  • i think 0:45 is my favorite. ahaha

  • so.......you are human too?

  • Was that donny going for the big 300 on the skwat?

  • Fail now, succeed later.

  • I love this make another one its great. This is what people don't see, the failures that every athlete goes through every day in the gym to reach there maximum potential. These failures or misses are what push you to your best.

  • They give up half way through a decent rep :\

  • That about sums up my training.

  • goo vid guys....keep training hard

  • kinda frustrating to watch lol. good vid though.

  • HARD CORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good video and good weightlifter congratulations

  • is this a joke? these were all fails.

  • @BazingaAmerica why would you think this is a joke? the title of the video is train hard. If you never miss lifts, you are not training hard. Most of these lifters are training to be the best, so they must train hard and therefore miss some lifts. Every top lifter has missed more max lifts than he has made.

  • Glenn, Keep these vids coming! We love watching your guys on BB.com. Inspirational!

  • Drive Donny!....aah

  • 0:35 "hahahah i almost got crushed to death"

  • Thanks for putting this up. I had a pretty shitty week of training last week, it was really messing with my head. You always see videos of the best making their lifts and you loose perspective and think they never miss. Then when you have a shitty day or week or whatever you think "F*ck this I suck, those guys from ______ always make their lifts." So thanks again this helps keep things real and in perspective. Everyone is going to miss a lift now and again, the point is to keep on lifting.

  • 1:04 hahahahahahha

  • Love the California Strength vids. Very inspirational.

  • Can anyone go and do Olympic lifting their?

  • The one tall black lady has goooood form she needs to work on her lock out and shoulder strength and she will be good.

  • love this video....all lifters have missed thousands of lifts!!!

  • great video, great sense of humour that shows the stresses we all face with weight

  • who missed the 172 snatch at :12???

  • @nk29382 That was Martin Pashov. He is from Bulgaria and spent some time at Cal Strength.

  • Haha this is awesome, sums up the frustrational parts of this sport pretty good!!

  • omg this video is fuckign hilarious. I mean that in the nicest way possible.

  • @ :33 sec- The true essence of Members Only! So hardcore he lifts in a Jacket! What a place to train

  • Donny Shankle = legend

  • Awesome video. Much respect to all the athletes at Cal Strength. Wish we had a joint like this in NYC.

  • Thanks for putting this up. I always tell the lifters I coach that if you want to succeed, you have to fail ... a lot!

  • :34 ... shankle attempts tosquat like 260 in a leather jacket?? haha

  • 0:27 "o kurwa"?:D

  • i just felt my blood pressure rise from this! :D haha

  • I really like the fact that your gym caters to all levels of athletes, from novice to elite. I often wondered if this gym was exclusive to olympic class athletes only. You guys are in the Bay area right? I will stop in next time I am in the area.

  • I love that Donny is squatting in a leather jacket. Only he could pull that off.

  • the kid at 0:54 needs alot of work if he cant clean a 45 on each side

  • @czoraa21 you have to start somewhere

  • @klr1572 got a point we where all there at one time or another

  • @czoraa21 I think they are 55's.(25 kg plates)

  • @czoraa21 That's 2 55 pounds plates, so 265 pounds in total.

  • @czoraa21 or wait, is it just 1, hard to tell, well if it's 1 it's 155 pounds

  • This is great. Always videos of the successful lifts, never of the misses.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!

  • please, you don't win me. i lift a hugh weight. you are my pupils.

  • 300 kgs backsquat?

  • i lift 190 kgs backquats :)

  • Ya gotta pay to play. Keep up the good work!
