I felt neglected, my house had no man, friends were nit ralkying to save him because he rejected them too. Said they were unintelligent compared to gamers who are awesome ppl he gets to meet from around the world. So gamers out there... If u choose to play, upkeep relationships cause ppl around u will reject u just as u and the game rejected them.
DonMega187. You can't really do anything to stop a person from playing. You bug the person first 2, nag 3, get angry. Then explain that this is destroying friendships, relationship, unhealthy eating, finances ( due to playing so much), and then u do an ultimatum. I don't know of any other way out there. I personally did not try anything beyond those steps.

Hmm, I can relate to pretty much everything mentioned. Whenever I buy a new video game, I don't stop playing until it's done... and when I started playing WoW and Mabinogi (at separate times), things got even worse. I would wake up super early on school mornings just to play for a bit. I'd think about it whenever I was away from the computer. I even started blowing off my friends just to play it some more. I played from 2006-2008. When i first started it was the original game without expansion. I made many friends, was a guild master and reached the level of 80 during burning crusade. I left only because I was hacked and had everything stolen from me and then had trouble with my favorite character following that. It is still hard to this day to stay away from the game not for the game but for the society. Some of the best friends of my adult life were in the game. Im glad I was able to stop.

I learnt all my english from games (vocabulary and writing from runescape and speaking from video games online with british and american people), although I deeply regret having spent entire summers sitting in a dark room playing runescape, I would do it again because now i'm a top student in modern languages and I even make english commentaries on youtube now, for a dutch 16 year old that's quite an accomplishment

for real, tho, I quit playing Video games years ago when I started to realize how addicted I had become. It was ruining my studies and I was often skipping school completely, rationalizing and even convincing myself that I was sick so that I could stay home and play. I never left the house and my social life dwindled and atrophied, along with my social skills. I rarely play them and don't have any real desire. It had it's place in my life but it became very unhealthy and I don't miss it.

Hmm, I can relate to pretty much everything mentioned. Whenever I buy a new video game, I don't stop playing until it's done... and when I started playing WoW and Mabinogi (at separate times), things got even worse. I would wake up super early on school mornings just to play for a bit. I'd think about it whenever I was away from the computer. I even started blowing off my friends just to play it some more. But now I think I've kicked that little habit :) It's kinda weird being the only serious

I can't believe you people. Fighting and arguing over a video game. Yes I play World of Warcraft. Everything should be used in moderation. I'm not going to tell you to play so and so amount of hours a day. But it's your own fault when you don't have a girlfriend and live with your mom the rest of your life.

im a 13 year old boy , i live in belgium that means we dont learn english until we are 14years old .. when i was 11 i started to play Runescape i play'd it 6hours a day . Then i discoverd Maple Story . i played it 8 hours a day . when i Was 12 i started WoW . Also 8 hours a day. i'm not fat , i play soccer , im good at school.. so i dont see the problem? by the way ive never learnd english.. but in what language i write now? :D (<-- horrable english)

I played from 2006-2008. When i first started it was the original game without expansion. I made many friends, was a guild master and reached the level of 80 during burning crusade. I left only because I was hacked and had everything stolen from me and then had trouble with my favorite character following that. It is still hard to this day to stay away from the game not for the game but for the society. Some of the best friends of my adult life were in the game. Im glad I was able to stop.

my gaming addiction ruined my childhood but gave me a future. I learnt all my english from games (vocabulary and writing from runescape and speaking from video games online with british and american people), although I deeply regret having spent entire summers sitting in a dark room playing runescape, I would do it again because now i'm a top student in modern languages and I even make english commentaries on youtube now, for a dutch 16 year old that's quite an accomplishment

@x4dow - No, skilled CS Players are playing mouse sens betw. 1,0 and 2,0, i even know people playing 0,5. Dont know about the uptodate versions of CS, but getting used to 1,0-2,0 will increase your aiming skill for sure!

Ironically, most gamers often neglect their kids too...but that doesn't make gaming an addiction any more than work is an addiction. It just makes them bad parents.

for real, tho, I quit playing Video games years ago when I started to realize how addicted I had become. It was ruining my studies and I was often skipping school completely, rationalizing and even convincing myself that I was sick so that I could stay home and play. I never left the house and my social life dwindled and atrophied, along with my social skills. I rarely play them and don't have any real desire. It had it's place in my life but it became very unhealthy and I don't miss it.

All you gamers that try to justify what you do are freaking blind to the damage it causes. I've been down that road, 6 years off my life on an MMO and what do I have to show for it? NOTHING. I had to watch as my bf went down the same exact path. He refused to see how much it hurt me and our relationship. His behavior changed.
