i think we all have someone in our lives that touches us. i had a teacher do the same too gave me a different perspective on math and allowed me to go into calculus and ended up with a b overall

Wow, this is so sweet. I had a teacher who changed my life in so many ways & she doesn't even know. I still think about her & all the kindness she showed me when no one else knew I existed. Made life easier than it would have been had I never walked into that class.

How wonderful that Steve and Mr. Joffray not only corresponded but kept the letters over 30 years. This is a fine testimony to the special relationship that can occur between a teacher and a student. Some of us experience it but few to this degree.
