  • great muscle ups

  • That is really hard to do.

  • To those asking how to perform this move, don't even try unless you are really powerful. Best bet is doing a muscle up with momentum (kipping). This man is obviously really strong. It requires great brute strength to perform this move with no momentum. The easiest way to get there is by doing heavy weighted pullups. Get your body used to the extra weight. You build muscle in the process and when doing an unweighted pullup, you'll be so strong that you literally fly without the need of momentum.

  • @TheToejam666 can you give me advise how to get there? i'm doing push ups without weight all my life. should i start doin' them with like about 10 pounds? and after a month 20pounds?

  • @TimeDefeater dont do weighted push ups do clapping push ups

  • @icedog141 why is that better?

    thx for the response

  • @TimeDefeater well it all depends on what you want. clapping push-ups will give you more explosive strength (fast twitch muscles). i also think that its good to exhaust all of your options with just body weight and move up to more advanced versions of body weight exercises before you experiment with adding weight. in the end you know your body and your goals better than anyone else this is just what i would reccomend based on my experience with both. hope that helps

  • @icedog141 thx man

  • @TheToejam666

I don't agree. Heavy weighed pullups will lead to stagnation, plus it's not the same movement. You have to practice it from the bottom and top.

  • How much do you weigh? I've seen competitive body builders who couldn't do a muscle up because of their weight. Yet, they can lift massive amounts of weight.

  • @suedeal1

    in this video around 195

  • @suedeal1 stfu okay... ive seen people weight 170 of muscle and still can do muscle ups with 30pounds in their back dude 170lbs or muscle and can still do it at 190 so why he wouldnt... bodybuilders dont have strenght get ur bodybuilding facts up duude why the fuck do u think powerlifters dont have the same training fatass

  • @Polojine1 You can't compare someone whose good at muscle ups to a powerlifter or bodybuilder. Muscle ups require timing and momentum to successfully complete. It's a different type of muscle recruitment. Powerlifters and bodybuilders lift heavy weights without the aid of momentum. Kipping is counter productive in their sports. I'm not knocking them. In fact, I can do them well at 190. But in a test of raw power and strength without swinging or kipping, my money is on the powerlifter.

  • @suedeal1 thats not cuz of their weight, they dnt have functional strength, the only thing their strength is good for is the specific lifts they do. muscle ups is more functional movement that requires effciency coordination and integration of the entire body

  • Guys I see doing these muscle ups rarely appear to weight above a buck thirty. Let's see a 200 pound, muscular stud do death hang muscle ups. That would be impressive.

  • @suedeal1 he is a 200 pound, muscular stud

  • BEST DEAD HANGS i SEEN ON YOUTUBE YET...

    blaq ninja

    bartendaz

  • So easy...

  • Great job man. Keep up the good work. Check out my vids. Most recent attempt is 4 reps. I made a video with some cool background music.

  • Good form, good video.

  • this vid is like a natural tutorial for a muscle up, nice

  • great form

  • They just seem out of proportion to your upper body. Seeing as how your built like a fucking tank. Maybe you can help me... What is the best workout to help me with pullups..besides pullups because I cant do a single one.. I am leaving for Marine Corps Boot Camp and have to be able to do two! I will take any adivce you have to heart.. help a brother out!

  • If you can't do 3 don't leave for boot camp, Pull-ups are the only way to get better besides losing weight. I went to Boot doing 14 left doing 20. If you fail the IST boot camp is going to be a lot longer then 3 months.

  • I cant leave without being able to complete the IST. I leave March 9. So I still have some time.

  • def try and get more then three. When I got to boot camp there were a lot of people who couldn't get three. recruiters sent them anyway. A guy in my Platoon was on Parris Island for 6 months because he was over weight and couldn't pass anything.

  • wow, 6 months!? My only problem has been the pull-ups.. As for the PFT, my last run on the 3 mile was a 20:46 and 80 crunches in two minutes.. which is about 160 on PFT scoring even without the pullups.. and I am always first to finish the runs and the highest crunch count when it comes to the IST with other Poolees, its just been those damn pullups.. Im getting 'em though.. I should be able to get atleast one or two more before I ship! Thanks for the response!

  • daMMn!! 6 m!

  • Handstand Pushups will give you another 3 reps on pullups. If you can't do them kick up against a wall and hold the hand stand

  • Are you f**king retarded? Handstand push ups work triceps, shoulders, chest, and some abs for stabilizing. Do negative Pull ups. Jump Up and hold the pull up as long as you can going down. Best thing to do is keep doing them.

  • Mr. Skippy thanks for setting me straight.

  • to rherbe2, how come, what muscle group do handstand pushups train

  • I can do 7 straight muscle ups and 23 pull-ups, handstand pushups have been instrumental in strengthening my shoulders for this activity. The shoulder is the key because its used in every upper body exercise.

  • I posted some video recently, start with a handstand and work your way down slowly

  • seriously man, its a completely different group of muscles, you have no clue about body mechanics

  • If you feel that way than do you, I simply sharing what worked for me for the reasons I stated before. I hope your advanced overstanding of body mechanics has yielding you the results your looking for and your not just one of those guys whose on the Youtube looking for a debate.

  • We went through the motions of a textual joust as to the physical mechanics of the muscle-up, the muscles involved and what exercises work best. I have posted a few video that show how its done. If you would like to debate with your video by all means feel free

  • What was your MOS when you were in?

  • 2311 Ammo Tech

  • legit.

  • i can finally do this, i actually find it easier than a swinging one because theres no recoil when you try to do the dip but thats just me.

  • oh my fucking god....this is going in my workout routine!

  • That's crazy man you used no swing whatsoever that's unbelievable!

  • Bull shit this is a real muscle up not a kiping pull up into a dip great job.

  • that's pretty good but have you seen this guy named Beast?

Just type in beast pull ups...This guy jumps like three feet doing a pull up.

  • ya I've seen his videos I wouldn't try it I'll probably bust my face on the bar.

  • How do you transfer from the pullup to the muscle up portion. I think I'm strong enough to do these but have trouble positioning my chest over the damn bar.

  • Its all about speed, pulling up so your mid chest is equal to the bar. Then turning your wrists into a dip position and pushing up.

  • yo man, you are good that's for damn sure, but If you have any time on yourself for me, i would like you to find out if you can beat my own record of 296 chin-ups in 38 mins, I was aiming for 400chinups but I was so tired by the end of that, I want to know how much you can do...?

  • Great work ! unlike the guys who do kipping and claim its muscle ups....

  • There is nothing wrong with kipping into a muscleup. It's just there is a difference between doing a muscleup whatever way you can (ie kipping, swinging etc) and doing them "en force", with no momentum whatsoever and entirely from strength.

    But yeah, great control.

  • Nice strong control! Pls check my muscle ups and one arm chins; click on my name. Cheers.

  • I am training like heck to get these but not sure what else to do. I can do 16 steady chinups though...

  • I practiced for muscle ups by doing pullups as high as I could and also by doing dips on a straight bar. That way you're working both sets of muscles that you need for muscle ups. Also, find a lower bar and do muscle ups by pushing off with your feet.

  • I will probably never be able to perform a muscle up

  • finally someone who knows what a real bar muscle-up is.

  • ok. i need to stop cheating on my muscleups. lol... but the kipping really does help

  • do you have any videos?

I tap the floor the stop the sway on the next rep.

  • Daboss, what planet are you on ? As a percentage of your population how many people do you think can do these ? Not many becuase THEY ARE hard!

  • nice. do u have any tips for muscle ups? how do u work your way up to one?

  • you need to pull your self up so fast that your lower chest it at the bar then you flip your hands over to do a Dip.

  • if your a gymnast than these are taught to you right away

yours were very good but its not difficult

  • Are you using the momemtum when you do them, or is it mostly strength?

  • Its almost all speed pull your self up so fast the bar reaches your belly button then the movement turns into a Dip I tap the floor each time to stop my momentum

  • Very nice! Your muscle ups top mine, I have to do momentum and I only have two repititions, great form too.

  • Now that is the way muscle ups should be performed, none of this swinging around crap to get some momentum going then using the momentum to get up above the bar. Just hang, straight pullup then back down. Great show of strength there.

  • Thanks, I dont' think I could have done it swining I had to tap the floor so I could do the next one

  • damn i wanna be able to do those
